That was me. I still think Marriota will be the better pro but I was wrong on that.
Well, they were wrong. The lack of QB for Tampa was to big to not take someone and from there it was Mariotta or Winston. And Winston as a pocket QB was the safe choice.

I want to agree with you, Mariotta will be the better player but not instantly, unless he learns very fast.

He very well might be to be fair. Though I was kind of hoping Marcus would go to Philadelphia or San Diego, or atleast the Jets, for his own. Chan Gailey is a really good OC and employs a lot of read option/ spread elements. Not sure Mariota is a Whisenhunt type quarterback, who's most had vertical passing attacks in the past with Ben, Warner and Rivers. And Tennessee might have the worst roster in the whole league, especially with the receiving core. Hope it works out for Mariota though, comes across as a genuinely nice guy.

He's just not HC material unfortunately, and the time at GT or Buffalo showed as much. But purely as a coordinator running spread, he's good IMO. Kind of an offensive Marinelli as it were.
