Smith looked impressive against Rams. Looking forward to see what the Ravens can do against the Jets.

Romo....HAHAHAHAHAHAH

fecking hell he is SHIT. I mean Sexy Rexy is a joke, but everyone knows that...Romo is meant to be for real.

Lions ahead!! Fantastic comeback from them, Romo chokes again.

Big penalty against the Cowboys when it was 3rd down.

Twin Rex is another fat feck.

Lions are 4-0.

Romo must be an Arsenal fan, he's talented but chokes when the pressure is on.

The Eagles throwing away a 23-3 lead is bested by the Cowboys who throw away a 27-3 lead...

I thought that penalty on Suh was going to be a killer, maybe a better team would have punished the Lions for that, or a better quarterback

This is fun. Now we just need the Giants and the Falcons to take care of business and this might be the perfect NFL weekend.

Seriously how fun was that early slate of games?

Pats winning but the defence continues to struggle and Mayo's now gone off with an injury. So far we've had a good running game to support Brady but the defence needs to step up.

Well done Pats defence, interception in the endzone.

What was Campbell thinking, not really down to the Patriots defence just he threw it straight to him

Poor judgment from Campbell who otherwise has had a very good game.

I noticed a few weeks ago that Brady tends to throw the ball high when near the endzone and the commentator made the point he does that so that if the receiver does not get it the defender won't either.

Pats leading but will be another close game. Hopefully Hernandez will be back soon.

 Giants come back and the Falcons hold off the Seahawks!

United win
49ers win in dramatic fashion
Seahawks, Cardinals, and Rams lose in dramatic fashion
Feel-good Lions story continues at the expense of the Cowboys in dramatic fashion
Raiders thrashed at home
Arrested Development is back
Breaking Bad to air later tonight

What a weekend.

Is Devin Hester a hall of fame candidate assuming he carries on his special teams play for a few more years? I’m not sure if there is any history of someone like him getting in but still worth pondering. I don’t think so myself at this point but then again I would not be against Adam Vinatieri getting consideration as a kicker.

As of now, absolutely no chance in hell.

But if he continues on his current trajectory come the end of his career...it might be almost impossible to ignore him.

I read this earlier today

Devin Hester has accomplished this laundry list of achievements in just under five full season in the NFL. The fact that he broke Mitchell’s all-time returns for a touchdown mark in 800 LESS attempts is simply amazing. If he can remain relatively healthy for the rest of his playing days (and assuming teams don‘t completely stop kicking to him), it is scary to think about how many touchdowns Hester can amass as a return specialist.

If the hall of fame is reserved strictly for game changers, regardless of position, then Devin Hester will end up deserving strong consideration for enshrinement. After all, Hester is just that…a game changer. He dominates his position the same way Barry Sanders, Dick Butkus, and Reggie White (to name a few) dominated theirs. I don’t care that Hester is not a running back. I don’t care that he has not made his mark on the NFL record books at the wide receiver position. The bottom line is that he is one of the few players in NFL history that, when the ball is in his hands, has the ability to take it to the house for six at any given moment.

Unfortunately for Hester though, it may not matter.

Right or wrong, there is this certain stigma surrounding players who make a name for themselves on special teams. Many people tend to think that these players simply aren’t good enough to be every-down players, and fairly or unfairly, do not deserve hall of fame consideration. Now, I understand that special teams may not be the sexiest aspect of a football game, but it is a vital part nonetheless. Remember…special teams is one of the three main phases of the game isn’t it? So why should players who excel in this phase be looked at any differently than those who excel on offense or defense?

Jveezy, how is Aldon Smith coming along. Is he just a situational rusher?

Yes, but he's doing very well at it. He was all over Vick yesterday in the second half. I think some other Niner fans noticed he's actually getting off the line a little late and still getting to the QB so if he can actually get off the block on time he could do some real damage.

Cowboys had never in their history blown a game they led by 24 points. I've defended Romo to the hilt over the years but I'm starting to give up on the guy. If they don't make the playoffs, I feel both he and Garrett have to go.

Bring in Cowher or Fisher and go find a new QB. It seems Romo has become too engrossed in the "Cowboy QB/celebrity personality" and it's simply not been earned. He's Danny White reincarnate - great statistically but a turnover machine making bad decisions and simply not good enough to win the whole thing. Granted, put him in Baltimore or Jets and they'd be improved at QB and win the whole thing (possibly).

crucial 1st down....

Bucs up 24-17

Colts 0-4

I would take Romo over Sanchez everyday of the week, Flacco - who is still showing improvement, may be a bit closer. His inconsistency must be frustrating for ‘Boys fans as he obviously has talent as a pure passer. The rainbow touchdown pass to Bryant was one of the better throws I saw this past Sunday, along with a Brady sideline back shoulder throw and a few from Rodgers. The media flip flopping on him is irritating. They wrote him up as a choker against the Jets to an American hero inspiring his team to a win through pain that no other QB has gone through. Now, he’s a choker with no mention of the ribs.

Sometimes a club has to make the difficult and unpopular choice. The 49ers got rid of Lott and Montana, granted they had Young to succeed Montana. Other great players were dropped later on in their careers (OJ, Marcus, Rice, Namath, Unitas, etc). I still believe the Dolphins held themselves back in the 90s by sticking to Marino for about 4-5 years past his peak. I know Jimmy didn't want to keep him post 96 but management wouldn't let JJ cut him due to the bottom line: ticket sales (and fan backlash).
