Nfl 2010-2011

Come on Brady, please please please lets have a lovely drive!

Come on Patriots! Please! I need this after my weekend of sports results!

Well done Pats! A hard-fought win will give them big confidence.

Cowboys and Vikings tied at 7-7, hoping for a high scoring game, both teams have turned the ball over which have resulted in TDs.

HT 14-7 Cowboys lead. Vikings are 1 score down, but Dallas really should be further ahead, the penalties are killing them and keeping the Vikings alive.

Harvin with a KO return to start the 2nd half. 14-14.

It was brilliant, thats what it was! Branch, good to have you back!

There are some real positives to build off in this game. I thought they were solid against the run (under three yards per carry) and the game plan was to take away what the Ravens did best. Ray Lewis was the third best middle linebacker on the field today, Mayo and Spikes dominated between the guards at times and showed great recognition and power around the LOS - 32 tackles between them. Aside from the second half against the Jets when their guards pushed him around a little, Mayo is playing at a Pro Bowl level.

Another penalty against the Cowboys. If they end up losing this, which is looking very likely, it's their own fault.

Vikings win. Cowboys gave up too many penalties and Romo threw a big pick in the 4th quarter. Roy Williams played quite well.

Anyone else think Wade Phillips will get sacked this year?

Edit: just reading his wikipedia page, and someone wrote this:

Although soon to be 1-4, he will be fired before the year is out.

The Jets have looked impressive heading into a bye week with their only loss by a point against Baltimore in Week 1....Offense wins games but defense wins championships and they have one the best defenses in the league....they have absolutely destroyed 2 pre-season superbowl favorites (patriots and vikings) ...will they reach the Superbowl this time or have they maybe peaked a bit early ?

Yes, they look good defensively so far. They were the better team in the second half of the Pats game and deserved the win. Not sure where you are going with the absolutely destroyed thing though, looking for some kind of reaction?

Congrats, another loss for the Raiders is a bonus this season. Just out of interest how good a player is Joe Staley for you lot, is he a long term keeper? That was the last high pick the Pats had after the trade and was used on Mayo and Moss soon after.

He is a solid left tackle. Still young so he still gets beat sometimes but a good enough left tackle that our personnel management said at one point that if we had the chance to trade the #7 pick for him again we'd do it. I'm not an expert on offensive line play but he's quick and has good footwork and strong enough to push pass rushers around.

It's really funny watching the Cowboys continuously screw themselves over. Excessive celebration penalties in 2 straight games is simply unacceptable. Only the Cowboys...

Cowgirls fans seem to think they are actually a good team, that's the funny part. They are not and now the teams in their divisions are at their level so it's showing even more rather than simply losing in the playoffs every year when they face superior teams.

They are a good team. Talent wise, they're probably the best in the NFL. They just have a poor coach who has no discipline, which rubs off on the team, and an interfering owner who is Al Davis-lite.

Talentwise the Cowboys arent the best in the league, their biggest problem is Phillips, I said it last year had they gotten Shannahan and a decent DC they would be in the SuperBowl, that playoff win v Philly that saved Phillips' job has certainly become a pyrrhic victory for the Cowboys. God have I been waiting to use pyrrhic victory for a long time :)

It's just Wade Phillips, it's their special teams, which truly is SPECIAL

Not to mention their indiscipline, penalties all over the shop + Personal fouls, that have been crucial in helping the opposition to continue their drives.

They are not a 1-4 team, but I'm over the moon that they are!

Have you seen the Chargers special teams? Haha they have cost them pretty much every game ha

Painful pass interference call on Denver! :(

I know it hurt, probably was the right call though, I know I would have been screaming for it had it been the other way around. I have been happy with the Broncos performances this year they have played well considering their players and really could turn around if they get a running game. Orton has really developed into a great passer which has shocked me but who would have thoguht Denver could pass the ball this well after trading Marshall, with two flops for the better part of their careers no less.

That didn't save Phillips job - Jerry kept him because he didn't want to commit millions to a big name coach with a lockout looming.

Guys like Cowher, Gruden, Shanahan aren't coming. Those guys seen how Jerry ran Jimmy and Bill out of town and will want no part in it. Not to mention I doubt Jerry is going to pay 5-10m per year for a big name guy. Garrett will probably be the next HC. Or Norv Turner when San Diego wise up and fire his ass.

Blaming Phillips completely for the Cowboys lack of discipline is crazy. It's like blaming Del bosque for the circus around Real Madrid.

Working for a high profile egotistical owner and controlling the super stars is very hard to accomplish when everyone knows the coach doesn't have complete authority.

Dallas Clark has been put on IR and is therefore out for the season. Big blow for the Colts.
