Nfl 2010-2011

Interception by the Patriots. 4 turnovers in 11 minutes committed by the Chargers (2 of them were ridiculous). Pats really need to make them pay, offense hasn't really clicked so far...

Great work by Edelman on the punt return. Pats will have good field position again.

Oakland raping Denver, 38-0 atm.

This is appaling on offense.

I think a lot of praise has to go to the Chargers so far myself. They have had excellent coverage and also got pressure without committing too many to the blitz. It’s a shame that their ineptitude in other phases has lead to the NFL’s number one defense statistically being in this hole. Hopefully, they will tire as the game goes on and there will be some half time offensive adjustments.

Hopefully, hopefully. They have a really nice blitz, and coverage is superb - but Brady is just throwing the ball so hard! Just then, open receiver, but tries to knock them out. Running out of ideas.

Another 3 & out - but the pass interference penalty saves the Pats drive.

ANd the throw Brady just dumps it - easy catch, completion. More of that please!

Yeah, he has tried to force it hard and low a few times due to the tight coverage and closing zones. The receivers are having a hard time getting open, maybe going to the stacked set a few more times like on the Woodhead reception in the red zone earlier on is a good idea.

HT: Pats lead 13-3. Defense has dominated so far, Pats have been very poor offensively and despite having committed 4 turnovers, the Chargers are very much in this game.

Edit: Moss is right, Brady needs to get a haircut.

Push 3 tight in a set. The chargers are struggling to stick to men on crossing routes, shallow drag routes are always open, but again, Brady just throwing it far too hard.

TD Pats. A good drive at last by the Pats and they lead 20-3.

The Pats RB, number 39, looks good. Is he new?

Have not really noticed too much of that to be honest, I will see when I watch the game again. The miscommunication on the Welker end zone route towards the end of the first half half was irritating but at least there has been an improvement in the second. Good touchdown drive despite the mental errors and penalty yards, I guess.

Very nice drive, but still lots of silly errors. Well done too for holding to a FG when the momentum was clearly with them!

Its Welker, I mean Edelman, actually it’s Woodhead.

No no no. Edelman is a mini Welker, Woodhead is a mini Edelmen. This, all based on when joined the team, not actual size. What a nice little group though!

Hernandez - what a player he has been so far! Youngest player in the league to isn't he?

Yes. The Rook has been great so far but I’m a bit uneasy with his importance to the offense after Moss, especially as they get deeper into the season. There is a possibility of him hitting the ‘rookie wall’ at some point. Plus, he showed a tendency to pick up niggling injuries throughout training camp. Tate needs to step up (as a pure receiver) as the season goes on and Edelman has been a non factor so far.

Tate has not shone at all as a receiver - although there was a game earlier this ear when his speed attracted enough attention for Welker to shine.
Come on Tate, step it up!

Recovered onside. fecking hell!!!

Although looking at it, the first contact by Charger player is made at 39 1/2 yards, so it should be overturned, but it wont be.

fecking hell Chargers making 2 big plays in a row. Come on Pats, wake up!

They have gone into a soft zone, like they often do with a lead. Rivers is picking it apart.

Come on Pats, please, please please dont bottle this! I have had such a god sporting weekend, do not ruin it now!

TD Chargers, good drive, but Pats defense was no where to be seen. 23-20 now. Offense needs to do something and get a TD

Pats will have good field position again, hopefully they do something with it
