Nfl 2008-2009

I'm signing Dante Culpepper and Shaun Alexander and starting my own team.

Why isn't Culpepper in New England? Anything is better than this

Culpepper is a dud, he just didnt have the desire adn was always overrated

Right, I know this sounds petty and odd but - if Pats score a TD before half time, I will stay. If they dont, I will go. I have to wake up in just over 4 hours for a job interview, and this game is frustrating me.

Night everyone. I go to bed unhappy, discontent, and wishing we had gone for a long pass on the last play, its not like Cassel has any stats to worry about.

Extremely slim. More chance of them bringing back Vinny Testaverde for his millionth season.

At least there will be a nice easy win on MNF next week. I'm sure Alex agrees!

We will see I think Denver are the last team to take New England at home back in late september of 2006

San Diego are a good team tbf, I mean they did play a good game against NE in the AFC Championship game

So, we played shit in the 2nd Half too? I gather Bellicheck wasn't happy?

Pretty much. Not being able to punch it in from the one on four downs at the beginning of the half and then, them driving all the way down the field put a huge downer on things. The rookie Wheatley got burned badly on the drive after replacing a poor O'Neal. There was just the usual bland responses from Belichick in the press conference afterwards.

Was just frustrating to watch. Which is why I stopped just after half time.

those were terrible play calls to bo honest.

That opening KOR for Arizona was the difference. Dallas offense is out of sync at times and questionable play calling. I don't understand why a run wasn't called on the first play in OT. Pound the ball on that tired Arizona defense. And why the feck did Felix Jones touch the ball on offense only three times? Christ. Phillips is out after the season is done. I'm not sold on Garrett either. I want Cowher.

Romo is out 4 weeks with a broken finger on his throwing hand. Brad Johnson steps in with Brooks Bollinger as third choice. Which means no play-maker at QB now as well as a lead foot.

This team needs to make a move for a WR before tomorrow's deadline. TO is getting shut down because opposing DCs know Austin or Crayton aren't game breakers even though they can make a play here and there. I say roll the dice, offer a 2nd rd pick to Cincinnati for Houshmanzadeh and go from there. They may ask for a 1st rd pick which is debatable. He's a solid WR and would compliment TO and Witten. Houshmanzadeh is an unrestricted free agent next spring and the Bengals are facing the reality of losing him for nothing.

My mate is coming by my place tonight to watch the Browns vs Giants. He was born in Columbus, OH and is a massive Braylon Edwards fan. Can't wait to see him weep :D

The giants are clearly the best team in the nfl this years patriots team reminds me of the 99 broncos

Hehe. The Saints crushed the raiders 34-3. God, JaMarcus Russel is a terrible quarterback. he overthrew his receivers all game and even missed one a throw to a receiver that was wide open in the end-zone. Watching him made me so glad that the saints have Drew Brees.

Braylon Edwards is killing my fantasy football team. I was hoping for big things from him this year

Jamarcus Russel is horrible. He can throw the ball far but that does not mean much if you aren't that accurate. Never really thought he was that great in college either, as LSU was stacked with good players. Then the Bowl game against Notre Dame had everyone saying how great he was, when really the Notre Dame secondary was absolutely horrible(and i'm a Notre Dame fan).

True. If you look at the plays though he had Heath Evans wide open on the outside for the third one and Ben Watson snuck through the line on fourth down and was wide open. He seems to go through his progressions and if the throws are not there initially, panics and tucks the ball away especially in the red zone. Obviously, we are not expecting him to be Brady like as he does not have the special awareness in the pocket that he does but he needs to be more patient and let things develop.

Wise decision, sir. If you watched the game without any rooting interest, you would would probably end up liking the saints because of their attacking style of offense. Hopefully it doesn't rain this time, and you guys get to see an entertaining game of football.

Well, given my user name, you could guess my real reasoning. Just glad I get to see a live game, and my mate and I are planning a trip to the US to watch our teams at home. He's a Pats fan, and I am Cowboy. Interesting trip there.

Wait til next year when the new stadium opens for the Cowboys it looks fecking awesome

We are years off it, planning on travelling round in the midst of the football action, and he needs to be 21 as well.

Not for the tailgating! You should hit up a big college game to

Marshall, come on there are about 100 teams I would rather watch than Marshall, and I mean 100

Same here. Even when he was at LSU, I didn't think he good enough to be an nfl qb. He can throw the ball through the uprights from midfield on one knee but is inaccurate and makes bad decisions. I was actualy hoping the bears would win last weekend against the falcons. Needles to say, that will probably never happen again.

Yeah, I figured the name had something to do with it. Plus the Chargers quarterback and best linebacker are complete douchebags.

Brees wasn't exactly lighting up opposing defenses in his first four seasons. It wasn't until his breakout season in 2005 that he matured into a great QB. That said, I feel Russell was overrated after torching a porous Notre Dame defense in that bowl game, catapulting him to the top spot. But he could develop into a very good QB someday. I don't think he will ever be as good as McNabb but he won't end up an Akili Smith either. Maybe a slightly improved version of Aaron Brooks.

Brady is a major part, but the rest of the league has caught up to them to some degree

I believe the word is KARMA. ;)

As for the new Cowboys stadium... the thing is a monster. I drove right past it while visiting Fort Worth a couple weeks back. It's like a giant spaceship when looking at it. It makes the Rangers baseball stadium look like a small field in comparison (right down the street from it). The tickets are going to be ridiculously overpriced as well. Squeezing the real fans out which is becoming typical of pro sports.

I thought the same thing on Brees the other day(I was arguing with my friend...I lost), that he was not that good his first few years but had one break out year. Apparently I was wrong because he put up some pretty good stats in his 2nd year(first year starting). His 3rd year was pretty bad but he has been good since. I still have nightmares about that Notre Dame game.

Marshall, come on there are about 100 teams I would rather watch than Marshall, and I mean 100

However, given what they went through similar to what United went through, there is a certain poignancy about going there.
