Nfl 2008-2009

I love them, but the saints will drive me insane. They're so fecking inconsistent. On Monday night they stomped the shit out of the packers. The offense played a smart and incredibly efficient, but today drew brees couldn't go two series without forcing the ball into double or triple coverage and getting picked off.

Rant over...for now.

They are the NFC version of the Broncos

Maybe the shite weather and the fact the Bucs are 2nd against the pass had something to do with it.

Pretty much. Notice when the two played each other, it was one of the best games of the season. Which we definitely should have won. feck you Martin Gramatica.

THe Broncs would have drove the field and scored, yeah though it was a great a game

The weather may have played a part, but the saints were passing all over that bucs defense in the second half. The 2 picks at the end just killed us. We could have gotten at least the three points to force overtime with the two possesions we had in the last 3 miuntes. Brees threw a pick in the endzone when we had possession around the 20, easily within field goal range. The pick at the end was just silly. I don't understand how a quarterback as good as drew brees could make so many bad decisions. He threw the ball to receivers that were well-covered several times, and a defense as good as tampa's will certainly punish you for being so careless.

Patriots & Buccaneers to play in London in 2009

The NFL announced today that the New England Patriots will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, October 25 at Wembley Stadium in London as NFL's International Series of regular-season games.

The NFL's International Series of regular-season games will return to the United Kingdom in 2009 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the New England Patriots, the NFL announced today.

The game will be played on Sunday, October 25 at Wembley Stadium in London with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Buccaneers and Patriots have been two of the NFL's most successful teams in recent years, combining to play in five of the past seven Super Bowls. Both clubs are strong contenders for a return trip to the playoffs this season.

"Over the past two years, we have seen first-hand the excitement that exists for our sport in the UK," said NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL. "The games have helped us to deepen our connection with our UK fans as well as create new ones. We are looking forward to another outstanding game in 2009."

The contest will mark the third consecutive year of an NFL regular-season game at London's Wembley Stadium. On October 26, the New Orleans Saints defeated the San Diego Chargers 37-32 before a crowd of 83,226. The International Series began on October 28, 2007, when the New York Giants defeated the Miami Dolphins 13-10 en route to a victory in Super Bowl XLII.

"The Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization is extremely excited and honored to be chosen to participate in the NFL International Series," said Buccaneers Executive Vice President JOEL GLAZER. "We look forward to being part of the NFL's global outreach and playing our great game in front of Buccaneers fans overseas."

The Buccaneers captured Super Bowl XXXVII following the 2002 season and are challenging for their third NFC South Division title in the past four years. The Tampa Bay community will be in the global spotlight at the culmination of this season when Super Bowl XLIII is played at Raymond James Stadium on February 1.

"We are proud to be selected by the NFL to be featured in next year's international game," said New England Patriots Chairman and CEO ROBERT KRAFT. "We have had a lot of memorable moments in recent years. I am sure our trip to the United Kingdom next year will prove to be an unforgettable experience for our players and coaches, as well as the many fans that will travel to the game. I think it is fitting that New England's first game to be played outside of North America will be in England. I know that the UK is home to some of our most passionate Patriots fans and we look forward to the experience."

The Patriots are three-time Super Bowl champions (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX) and won their first 18 games last season in advancing to Super Bowl XLII. The team is bidding for its sixth consecutive AFC East Division championship.

I cant funking wait.

Keyser my good friend, I shall see you there.

Keyser - go!

Should win this game really, the Seahawks are poor.

Interesting that Pittsburgh, Seattle and Oakland all played on the Thursday before their game with the Pats as well. Teams having extra time to prepare and heal up three games in a row is not exactly fair.

The injuries are becoming too much for even a Belichick coached defense to deal with as Woods, Warren, Bruschi, Redd and Webster are now injured as well. I am not sure what type of immediate impact bringing Colvin and the legend that is Seau back on to the roster will have. However, their obvious experience in the system should help in certain situations.

Let’s hope the Jets and the Ravens put in a couple of bad performances. If it comes to a tie breaker a terrible conference record is going to hold the Pats back.

Oh feck off, is it fair to them only having 4 days between games the preceding week, the Pats can feck off

No e-rant, just feck the Patriots that all. 0 - the number of Superbowls the Patriots have won when not cheating, I dont expect this number to change

Broncos are playing well down 10-0 already, damn

I am glad you realised it did not make much sense Alex!

Yes they had a short week going into those games, just as the Pats did when they played the Jets on a Thursday night.

Do not see what that has to do with the Pats upcoming opponents having three extra days for three weeks in a row.

Glad that Denver has got its salary cap under control now by the way... :)

So did the Jets though. I dont remember you complaining after that game when the Patriots had ten days off before they played the Dolphins in Miami and beat them

Not sure what the problem is here and what the Pats having ten days for the Miami game like everyone who plays on Thursday has to do with it.

If the Dolphins played teams who had three extra days for the next two games after the Pats, they would have had reason to bring it up as well!

I was also not complaining, was just an observation. It was you who rolled with it.

Keys, Ive got a link, but its crappy. Anyway, How we playing?

Not great on defense to be honest. They are getting killed by their tight end Carlson in the zones.

The main story is that Wilfork and Bruschi have both got injured and Vrabel just got banged up as well.

Branch caught a touchdown pass for them as well, predictably.

You said it wasnt fair, get over it; there is no way for them to make it completely fair. What next was the NFL behind Brady's injury?

Got a half decent one now. Not impressive. Looking so slow, even moss seems pretty covered all the time.

Looks like were going in behind at the half, unless we can pull something off special now.

No, it is not fair and what I said was pretty simple. On the other hand, I don't think it is that much of a huge deal either.

You just decided to go all feck the Pats... cheaters... they think the league is against them... Brady has a fecked up knee on us. For some reason.

Yes, it is hard for them to make everything even as highlighted by your Miami example earlier, which the Pats also faced during the season.

However, are you going to pretend that the three weeks in a row thing is not unusual...

It has yet to be proven, today was another horrible gaffe that cost his team the game, he needs to get it going in their last three games or the Cowboys may be on the golf course in January and not in the Playoffs

Saints manhandle the falcons in the dome. We started running the ball again, which is nice. As much as I dislike the falcons, I have to say that matt ryan is a quality quarterback, especially for a rookie.

Select memory, much?

Bucs rushed for 146 yards, Saints 101. The Saints had a slight edge on the clock and more passing yards BUT Garcia didn't train in the summer, and it was week one.

Muller, what did you think of the game? Was close stuff but a big win.

Branch decided to overcome his injury problems and put on a performance like his ones in both Superbowls, I can't dislike him though, good player. Have to admit that for the Dolphins and most of last season I thought Welker was just a good player who benefitted from playing with Brady and Moss. However, after I have seen what he has done this season and the different schemes people have used to stop him with no success... I think he is an excellent player in his own right.

The Jets loss means a three way tie for the division now. The Dolphins challenging for a division title with three games to go and the easier schedule of the three. Who would have thought it...

More like classic meltdown by Dallas to choke again and create yet another way to turn victory into defeat.

we still had to be there to win it, if the steeler defence hadn't played it right then it would of gone incomplete, wasn't as if he was stood there and romo threw it straight to him, it was a good performance from the defence all game

Loved the game. Was getting increasingly frustrated at our inconsistency again. An amazing play followed by an awful one. Was alot closer than it should have been, but the W was ours eventually.

I know what you mean about the phins, they really were just disgustingly bad last year, this year? Random plays, ALOT of luck, and a growing maturity with each game have made them a real threat. But I still think us or Jets will win the AFCE. Could boil down to Bills away last game though, never know what team of theirs will turn up!

The ball did go right to the defender... Witten ran the incorrect route. It wasn't any different than O'Donnell to Brown in SB XXX. Right place right time for the defender.

So if townsend hadn't bothered to take to the field of play he would still of got the interception? Don't make me laugh, it can never be 100% the passers fault, townsend still had to make the play, if we called the wrong play then townsend could of been somewhere else on the field and the outcome of the play and the game could of been totally different. Not going to argue anyway, can't really be bothered arguing at a rate of one paragraph a day. If you still don't see my point then I guess I'll say your right if it will get you to go away.

I meant falcons. feck sake, why did I write bucs?
