Nfl 2008-2009

2 great decisions by Bellicheck - to go for it and to keep it out of Cassell`s hands ;)

:lol::lol:

Get a few more points on the board, then try to get Cassel to get in the RZ without excreeting large amounts of bodily fluid and getting sacked...

again.

Ah Keyser. Will you be my mentor? It seems our main fault is the inability to cope with pace and agility and raw speed in our pass defense. Or am I seeing things?

If right, how does the Broncos receivers pace look?

All of us fans like to play the role of arm chair coach now and again… :D

It is all about pressure and the front seven with Belichick. It is where him and Pioli choose to invest all the money and if they are not playing well it is a problem. He does not seem to place much value on the position and has just plugged people in there at times. It is obviously going to be harder without Samuel back there, though, I do not think he was a great cover corner anyway. Just a decent one, with elite ball skills. As for the receivers I think Marshall is one of the best young ones in the league, I can only think of Fitzgerald that is clearly better.

Is it just me or has Moss lost a bit of pace from last year?

Keyser, I know Belichik(I`ll take your spelling) doesn`t like spending money on DBs but trying to win with Ellis Hobbs and JAmes Sanders not to mention Deltha O`Neal is a step too far.

nah, don`t think so. maybe just not running full out as he knows he has :wenger::confused::nervous::eek: at QB

Yeah, maybe he feels there is no point in going full out as he doesn;t have a QB who can get the best out of him.

Morris has been amazing so far.

Cassel to Moss TD!!!!

They heard us talking!

We were also waxing lyrically about his composure and quick release of teh ball.

Not forgetting his ability to sense pressure and avoid the sack.

I do agree but I am not sure the difference is that huge, if they get the pass rush. Only in terms of interceptions. He did manage to win a Superbowl with Earthwind Mooreland and even Troy Brown back there at times. If Brady would not have got injured the problems would have been less obvious like last year.

But they always had at least one(sometimes two) outstanding DB - be that Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy, Samuel - and some very serviceable players. Plus a more sprightly Harrison. Now they have some scrubs back there.

Ah I see the Broncos have been doing excellent since I went to dinner

True sidsutton, it is a balancing act though. I would have loved them to keep Samuel but not for that money, even though he was beat at times last year. Law was also one of my favourite Patriots.

On an optimistic note, that is three interceptions for Meriweather now, that extra work on his hands seems to be paying off. Some big plays by Mayo, Guyton and Woods on defense this game and lots of playing time, which bodes well for the future. Hobbs seems to be playing better this year as well except the pass interference against SD, so we will have to see how they address it in the coming years.

I just hope they can retool quickly enough not to waste the 5 or more elite years they can get from Brady. I actually agree with the decision to let Samuel go for the money he was asking.

looks serious for Harrison. Maybe Bill will be on the blower to John Lynch tomorrow.

Shit. It did look bad on the TV, originally from the replays I thought it was his other leg. Yeah I cant see him coming back and competing next year. Even in my relatively short folllowing of the game, I know that this is huge loss for the pats, and for the NFL. A truly nice person, and a great entertainer. Fingers crossed though on the slim chance he can continue.

Did you enjoy the game aside from that last night?

He was a great player over the years, although a dirty one. The kind that opposition fans love to hate.

Over 30 sacks as well as interceptions is some achievement, he is borderline hall of fame in my opinion.

Yeah, it was enjoyable, although it has to be said Denver's defense especially against the run was truly awful.
