Neymar Jr | PSG | 2017/2018 performances

Not sure if this has been posted but I lolled:

I've actually not seen much of this guy but by that pricing he must be twice as good as Pogba. Thoughts?

That's not how transfer fees work. For example Pogba isn't twice the player Bonucci is.

We don't know shit about neymar's life and lifestyle, why are you asserting he's set for life?

Are you projecting your life/how you live/would live onto how neymar lives/should live and then extrapolating that he's set for life?

Like I said, I think he's doing the right choice chasing his money, especially when he's accomplished all things he could accomplish as a sidekick, and will now be the main man and still be able to compete in what's regarded the crown of club football, with a very strong team, all the while earning considerably more. People are acting like the guy is going to China or something. Get your money breh.
Your original post made it sound like he'll be begging in the streets if he got injured. For me earning 300k a week instead of 600k makes no difference and If money was everything to everyone, PSG would be signing Messi not Neymar.

Supremely overrated. Barca could sign Ousmane Dembele and be in a better position. That kid is as good as Neymar now and much younger.

You are the only person in the world who thinks that surely?

Neymar - fantastic dribbler, fantastic one-on-one with a defender, pretty good passer, finishing is lacking.
Ousmane Dembele - exactly the same, probably a better passer/crosser tbh.

What?

Dembele isn't even on the same planet as Neymar currently. Neymar is better than Dembele at just about everything.

You think Neymar's finishing is top tier? It's really not. Unfortunately I've run out of posts for today, remember this post in a years time if Dembele has gone to Barca this summer and improved them from the side that had Neymar.

I think we can all agree that there's only one way his career is headed now, and it's not up.

He can win Ligue 1 for the next ten years while tearing the league apart, but unless he wins the CL with PSG he will never get to be mentioned with the greatest players.

Key words there.

You are not Neymar, you are not privy to his financial situation. How many footballers have gone bankrupt after a lucrative playing career? Mike Tyson blew $300m fight winnings. It's never wrong to get more money for yourself if you are not violating the law.

Hell, for that matter, we Utd fans are hardly the ones to talk about greed. We have tires and wine partner ffs

He'll win the UCL with them. This is also not the last big transfer for PSG anyway. They will continue to be aggressive in the transfer market. The French league is also bound to get another sugardaddy club. As PSG raises the profile of the league, there will be more interest to be part of it.

I also expect them to get Pep/Mourinho or someone else of that caliber within the next two years.

Probably why Mourinho complemented the transfer rather than slag it off.

Happiest day for you as a football fan?
Happiest day as a muppet.

But football is still the most important and I'm just very excited about what we'll see on the pitch at the Parc. Nothing has topped the WC98 final yet for me.

The inherent advantage they have is that the French League is so comparatively poor, that they can rest key players before big European ties. Something almost impossible to do in England; and more difficult in the other top leagues.

All that said, I'd be surprised to see them win the big ears any time soon.

Personally, I am torn three ways on this transfer. Glee at seeing Barca get bullied, and their salty, salty tears. Disappointment at seeing such a top player go to second tier league. And indifference once I realize that I really don't give a shit about Neymar, the whole PSG project, or how much he cost.

The money is already outrageous, but it can't be just the 220 and other 220 million in salary.

They must be spending a boatload on insurance policy as of right now.

You never know, he might be cruising and scoring 15 goals in his first 10 matches and someone blows a fuse and just breaks him in two during a match.

PSG playing Amiens today. Will he be playing today? Might watch if he's playing.

Shame he won't play. Was looking forward to it.

I'll still watch regardless. Missed league football.

He can't play. Not signed in time to be correctly registered.

True, transfer certificate not provided to LFP prior to Friday deadline of midnight - he'll likely debut on the 13th, away against Guingamp (Yes, this is actually a club in the 1st division)

Was on an american forum and a poster said "Neymar should've gone to United" and someone else replied "yeah......play with Verratti or go play with Matic, tough choice" and it made me chuckle real hard

My original post didn't make it sound like nothing but "i'm glad he's looking after his economic interests, clubs to the same, players have short careers that can end at any moment with a bad injury. get your money breh".

So I was right then? you were projecting your life/how you live/would live onto Neymar and extrapolating he's set for life? comical

Though its true money isn't an equal motivator to all, your last assertion was pulled straight out of your ass, and i don't really like entertaining "observation: clouds, conclusion: dinosaur" type of arguments, which you have already done twice so yeah, adios

That's a very disgenuous point. Neymar's finishing isn't at the level of Ronaldo, but it's significantly better than Dembele's.

I remember reading an article about Neymars spending and it mentioned he purchased a yacht for 15 million dollars and this was in 2014, safe to say hes living it up like most Brazilians tend to do.

Neymar at 19 was twice the player Dembele is at 19.

Neymar is the real deal. Dembele is still just potential. You can't really compare the two at all.

Dembélé is the best possible option to try to replace Neymar, but the latter provides a kind of magic (Freddie Mercury) and is made to win the Ballon d'or soon or later: crazy stats

- 55 goals in 77 games with Brazil: now the 4th best scorer of the selecao behind Pelé, Romario and Ronaldo >> he is 25 and could become the top scorer in the history of the Brazil team by the end of his career

- Barcelona: 109 goals + 59 assists in 186 games

Stats speak for himself
