They've been romanticized and put on a ridiculous pedestal the last decade.
They're a mess of a club in reality, their recruitment as of late has been very poor.. When Messi retires I predict quite a downfall.
Neymar is one of the best players of his generation. He is not even an all time great player or anything. Basically a Kaka level of a player. He's not even reached Kaka's peak level of play yet. There can be even better talents than Neymar.

Why? He's asking for a better wage, and also will be the main man. We all do, given the chance. Neymar has done his best during his stay, and has been contributing trophies after trophies to Barcelona. If he moves, Barca would also be compensated at the best price.

So, what is your problem then? Barcelona is getting €222million for that kind of player and you're still a far attractive club to have an advantage over future talents with more than enough money to burn.

Everybody talks with players while they're on contract with some other team. Neymar can go if the buyout is paid. Who has a problem with that? My problem is that PSG is generating their revenue through fake sponsorship contracts with Qatar. They are basically owned by an oil state. That can't happen.

Fair, but across the board prices seem to have doubled. Even the prices in the Championship and some other leagues, which TV income most certainly haven't doubled, are inflated. It's a paradigm shift, IMO.
The owners of the new league. Look at the NFL - a closed league where all the clubs cooperate to make a profit (salary caps, limits on where clubs locate). The existing clubs get to vote on changes in ownership and admitting new teams. They'd have no interest letting someone join in who doesn't care about making a profit and is willing to burn through cash to dominate the league.
FFP was part of UEFAs efforts to keep the traditional big clubs within the existing structure and help them stay dominant while making a profit. If FFP turns out to be worthless the traditional big clubs could look at ways to breakaway.
I'll be very sad as a football fan if Neymar goes. Arguably the greatest front three in history dismantled when they still have so much to give, and one of them hasn't peaked yet. I really enjoyed watching them these past few years.
