Neymar joins PSG on a five year deal

Nope all the reliable outlets in Barcelona say this is a done deal, Neymar has left training camp in the USA via private plane with his father
Damn.. Shit just got real..

Would you prefer your board to maybe deal with this like a transfer and negotiate something for Verrati? Or just have them pay the release clause and move to other targets?

No offense to PSG and Ligue 1 fans...but what's the point? He could literally take his pick of any club in the World.

This is actually one deal I won't believe is happening till I see him playing for PSG. I just can't believe he's actually so unambitious he'd move to PSG at this stage of his career.

I think if FFP is followed, Verratti going over in a separate deal makes sense - especially with the switch to Raiola who seems to always gets what he wants

I think there will be some chaos among club members which will hopefully spur a move to censure or call elections. Will they be able to weather the storm after Neymar's sale? I hope not but they will surely look to make deals and equally as certain to squander the kitty

It confirms that Neymar is indeed available and ready to go.

Mr Woodward, the time has come - deliver on the promises, hijack this transfer.

Soon to be the best in the world for a mere 200m (and the fees will be getting higher year by year). There is no second Neymar in world football, now at least - its the best player which can theoretically be purchased

We should be all over this like a tramp on chips. It's once in a blue moon a player of neymars calibre comes on the market. He is worth going balls out for and breaking the bank. We keep saying we are the biggest club in the world so let's show it. I bet if we could match their bid and wages he would pick us over psg.

I suppose not every club in the world are ready to spunk 500m on his clause and his contract.

While I would be over the moon if we can get him here.. Can we afford him? Seems to me it's almost 500 million overlay with wages and all.. On a single transfer..That sounds very daunting.. Anyway I'm sure if we can afford it,then Woody will be all over it..

Nope. PSG has a better city, and more of Neymar's teammates in the Brazil's NT in the squad. They are also closer to being a top team right now than United. So, he'd probably pick PSG over United.

Who will barca go for to replace him? Hazard?

I guess he wants to be a big fish in a small pond maybe. That said, I could see PSG challenging for the Champions League with him if he lives up to even half of the price tag.

That's a squad that can challenge. Even if they don't get Neymar, they may go for Alexis Sanchez, which still gives them a formidable team.

If it wasn't for the incredibly high wages and his constant partying and difficult character, I'd say he's worth it. But I think PSG are getting more than they can handle.
If this actually happens, of course.

I don't think Neymar would be a explosive player in epl. I'd give him a pass

Maybe we have said that we are willing, but maybe he just wants to be part of a league where he'll get to showcase his talents every single game against whipping boys.

People often complain that we always get the same matches in the Champions League but a PSG-Barcelona next year would be awesome. Even if Neymar stays.

Alexis Sanchez has come and dominated this league. Neymar is on a different level to him altogether. He can go to any league in the world and boss it.

You are close :) The team is rather like:

Bench: Lo Celso, Nkunku, Guedes...

So DiMarzio was right even on this one. An Italian journo the first one to report something substantial on a potential transfer involving a Brazilian player from a Spanish club to a French one.

Surely it means he got every boardroom bugged? Bet he got a huge spy centre hidden inside his personal batcave.

I'd hardly say he dominated. Sanchez is an absolute beast no doubt about that, but all he could manage last season was finishing 5th in that league he dominated. Where was he when all those valuable points were being lost?

I was just thinking about this myself. The guy is a fecking transfer god.

Biggest club in the world? Can do things in the market other clubs can only dream of?

Yet we aren't competing for the best player in the world, who is seemingly getable.

Joke.

Biggest club in the world does not imply making brain dead decisions.

He is not built for the English game.

The first serious rumours to Bayern transfers often come out of Italy, too. No idea how they do it.

I think there would definitely be an element of risk involved with him not cutting it in the epl like di maria. Equally he could push on a level being the main man playing in front of a packed old Trafford. I guess for the figures quoted it's a risk we probably sensibly aren't willing to take. The gambler in me would like us to role the dice though and see what happens!

Maybe we have said that we are willing, but maybe he just wants to be part of a league where he'll get to showcase his talents every single game against whipping boys.

If that's the case then he probably hasn't got the right mentality if his decision was based on having a easier ride and I wouldn't want him here anyway.

From what I heard clubs and agents tend to meet in Monaco, Monaco is full of italian agents, italian agents have big mouths and Di Marzio is in great terms with a lot of them.

Sure, I just think that would be a fantastic front four, I wouldn't leave any one of them on the bench if I had those guys at my disposal. Without Neymar/Alexis the 4-3-3 is easier to play, with Di Maria and Draxler on the flanks. Add in Neymar/Alexis and I think all four have to be starters, in my eyes.

Alexis Sanchez has the physique and stamina to play in this league.

Neymar is more like di Maria in his attitude, which I doubt will cut in this league.

I love watching this Barca/PSG issue from afar.

Signings like this will most likely also help in encouraging Veratti to stay.

As for Barca, who can they replace him with? They've got a shitload of money coming in so any player they go for, the clubs will be adding an extra 20-30M to the price tag.

Doesn't matter. Should be easy enough to adapt the team - they did it once to get Neymar, Suarez and Messi all in the same side.

The kid doesn't even know which foot is his strongest. Put him on the left and swear that it's the right wing.

That PSG side wouldn't frighten me if we played tomorrow.
Neymar isn't the answer on his own but he'll have to be with the money being spent.

That makes sense. If I'm right, Di Marzio was the first one to report Pep coming to us as well. A Spanish coach living in the USA going to a German club.
