Any chance Ten Hag watched the Leicester match just now and be terrified of joining this circus? :nervous:

Ten Hag or Poch, whoever gets the job has got one hell of a job to do

Ten Hag is advertising his availabiity. There might be any number of more attractive clubs coming in for him while we drag our feet.

Huge job for Ten Hag, I can’t face the prospect that it won’t be him right now. Save for 4 or 5 he needs to build an entirely new squad.

Poch would try to get a tune out of this group and inevitably fail.

Guys, Ten Hag will do wonders here.
A proper coach can change EVERYTHING.

I’m giving you a local example. My bulgarian team Levski Sofia was in a dire state for 6-7 years. The absolute bottom was reached with an ex player as coach for season and a half, he turned us into a laughing stock.
We finally managed to get Stanimir Stoilov - one of the best bulgarian coaches in the last two decades, the same coach who led us to Champions League group stage and 1/4 final in UEFA cup back in 2006 and 2007.
Even with the club in financial crisis and no expensive players in the team, Stoilov transformed us completely in just 5 months or so. Our football is improving by the minute, we look so much better and dangerous, players we thought were amateurs are putting in great performances week after week. We win game after game, drew against our biggest rivals and actually outplayed Ludogorets (they are kinda the bulgarian Bayern Munich atm - winning everything and buying whoever they want) away in our last game against them (despite unlucky 2-1 loss because of GK error.).
The only factor creating the new and good face of Levski is the coach!

This will happen to United I’m 100% convinced.
Get Ten Hag in and watch us become great again.

And if I'm not mistaken, Stoilov has implemented a possession based style which has galvanised the club. And you can't instil a possession based style successfully without also implementing a strong structural/organisational side to a group of players.

So I do agree, a coach with a clear idea on how to implement a attacking style of play with counter pressing capabilities can make a noticeable difference. And it's also fun for players to play in a team that is well structured, which can only help morale.

Its not guesswork.

Romano has a lot more right than wrong. Even if we grant him as being some aggregator of tier one sources, hes still often feeding news that's very credible.

I think theres a ton of clickbait shit going round but its silly to just bucket all journalism as guesswork.

I was saying the right back going to Bayern and Antony costing 40m was guesswork. Not all journalism.

I think attitude makes a lot of difference. The players employed at United are certainly talented enough but their work ethic and attitude is shocking for a professional player. Dont think any manager can work with that as Rangnick is finding it right now. So i really dont expect anything different if we keep majority of these players next season.

I want to hope that we are doing are due diligence in appointing the next manager, but knowing how this club has been ran the last decade I think its just as likely that they have no idea what they are doing or even looking for.

Simeone is the only manager that is going to get the effort required out of this team.

They will eat Ten Hag for breakfast. Unless he comes in and gets rid of twenty players which is not going to happen we will go nowhere with him.

We have far to many problems for him to even try and fix

Not looking forward to next season regardless of who's going to be manager. I'm ready to bet it'll be the same shit cycle again. I'll keep following for sure but mentally I'm completely checked out.

Incidentally, does anyone know if Simon Mullock is in any way reliable? He seems to be writing a lot about us.
He's the same guy called out by Van Dijk last week for making up stories.

Also the one who fell for a fake story online about Pogba and Bruno being injured and reported it.

At least 8 of those are rarely playing though so what difference would it really make?

Wages wise it will make a huge difference, especially if Martial and Henderson go. Lingard, Pogba, Mata and Cavani are on about 800k a week between them.

If Ronaldo goes as well that could be 1.5m a week off the wage bill.

And finally some space in the 25 man squad limit.

Europa conference it is. Is there a specific theme music for that competition? Hope the new manager warms to it.

And I was saying that him being likely at Bayern or Barca wasnt based on guesswork.

The point here is we aren't a likely destination, and that's not based off guesswork anymore than your original post is (where you suggested he and Antony would be part of a decent summer transfer package)

Yeah fair enough, thats' correct.

but my initial point was mostly about ETH being useful for taking the best picks from the Dutch league, not that I have anyone in particular in mind. Just as it's useful to have Ralf if there are any Red Bull players we're after.

It's a reason to be optimistic after spunking absurd amounts on over-rated English players, anyway

Very much doubt it will be that many. Finding clubs for some of them would be tough on those wages and i really doubt AWB is going anywhere.

Think there won't be as many arrivals as people would want either :nervous: . 4 or maybe 5 at very best.

Well 4/5 are out of contract so there will probably be at the very least 4/5

Relax - I'm sure he is well aware we are shite. The whole footballing world knows.
Continental European football fans certainly know. The guy knows it'll be an uphill battle.

The important trait is if the next manager is so confident in his ability and himself to fix this club and that he wants to do it. I truly hope that’s why ten Hag will take the job.

Why? It’s a gamble whoever we go with
True, it is a gamble. But, many people on here were/are so confident that ETH will be our next savior, but I don't see how they can justify that opinion based on his time at Ajax. I have seen no credible evidence other than he has a good philosophy that he should be the ideal candidate. Poch, luis Enrique, ancellotti, nagelsman, tuchel, are all more qualified than ETH for this position. The premier league and handling huge ego is another level compared to managing Ajax. I love ETH philosophy, but people might be in for a shock similiar to Ralf if ETH becomes our manager. And before, I get quoted in the future, I believe that he may win us a trophy like van gaal, and mourinho did, but it is hard to see him taking us back to the united glory days unless he hit the jackpot with great signings.

I want a fearless manager who has the balls to drop big players and set expectations. Enough of players going through motion week in week out. Pogba is off this summer, does he care if we finish top 4? Cavani thou willing is always injure. Ronaldo has no interest in competing for top 4. Rashford's mind is already off football, at this rate he can retire next year. McTominay is just a very limited player, isn't good enough in XI. Matic and Mata is too old. We need at least 6-7 players at least for a total overhaul. We need at 4 players next year.

It certainly is the hope that kills you. Every week even though I know it’s not getting any better I convince myself that maybe today will be the day that I’ll see a performance a spark a bit of creativity but there is absolutely nothing in the tank of these players. We are finished as a big club absolutely plummeting down the ranks.

What I do find baffling is that today there were no youth substitutions at all and certainly not entertained, I don’t know about the youth players but this Hannibal lad is he any worse than Fred and mctominay? The crowd would get a pick me up straight away if he played him or any of the youth.

what a desperate time for us fans, it’ll definitely be interesting to see what happens over the next few seasons but the reality is, it’s going to be really awful. Which I can accept because the writing is on the wall but it is the hope that kills you.

I worry about that too. He comes in and asks them to work hard 2-3 times more and you know what they gonna do. They needed a manager like Conte to sort them out straight. I fear they won’t respect Ten hag at all.

If we've got Ten Hag in charge and we've made some promising signings, and you still feel like that, honestly I'd just give up on football, its not for you anymore. The amount of misery on here is stupendous, and if I still have to deal with it and we've got something to be hopeful about its going to be such a drain.
