'Ole's at the wheel, United are back' sounded cringe to me when he said it and it certainly aged terribly. Read your post on why we should hire Rio and it all sounds great in theory but there's no evidence Rio would bring much to us. We need quality in coaching department, that's most important.

I think there's a place for quality coaches and also an ex player presence. There's definitely a need for it until the playing squad itself has enough leaders within.

He's not a cnut for his managerial preference, he's a cnut because he's become a proper blowhard on television whenever discussing United for years now

You do realise you don't need to watch him. He is stating the obvious on occasions, these guys players for Manutd when tit was title after title, challenging for the league year on year, to what they are seing now, many will be frustrated.

Fergie declined a role at United after his retirement. If he wanted eyes and ears, he could have used his own.

No need to come up with flat earth style conspiracy theory to explain Fletcher.

I had initially assumed that post was a wind-up but judging by the rest of the last few pages I'm really not sure.

I know but I still watch their coverage on match days so I end up having opinions on pundits the same way they get to share their opinions. Just because theyre ex-players of the club doesnt mean they're always going to he agreeable. I've found myself agreeing with a hated ex-scouse in Carragher a lot more often than Neville lately. He's still got his right to his opinions the same way that Souness does in spite of me considering him a cnut as well.

Care for someone to explain, what's all that fuss with L. Enrique? I mean sure he won with Barca what there was to be won, but with arguably the best 3 forward line football has ever seen.

He failed at Celta and Roma and Spain were playing some good stuff prior to him.
Also let's not forget that when he tried to persuade Messi to change his game they had a huge fallout and he had 4 terrible months up until Christmas, when he was faced with the sack. Until he took a step back and let Messi do as he please. Basically Messi's pup.

I can't wait for him to take the City job (as some claim) and prove what a mediocre manager he is.

I'm actually amazed we're being linked with ETH so strongly now, it sounds like we're actually on it for a change.

I was expecting radio silence for the rest of the season, lots of will he or won't he style talk about Rangnick, and then panic hire Poch or another underwhelming candidate midway through the Summer.

Seriously, what on earth are people getting so worked up about with regards to Neville? Do people just enjoy pissed off on the internet over absolutely nothing, or something?
He “expects” an announcement in a week or so yet Ten Hag has said his focus has to be on Ajax with them going for the title and United still have to try and fight for top 4. It's all so predictable: in two weeks time when there is no announcement he'll go on yet another rant from his soapbox. He has become unbearable and it was actually refreshing to see Lineker (who has just as high a profile) challenge him the other day.

He won the treble with Barca. Irrespective of how good his team was, that's still an incredible achievement. And he's taken Spain back to being a team that looks like they can be contenders in major tournaments. On top of that he plays attractive, attacking football.

He's clearly a very good manager, calling him mediocre is beyond harsh.

We were very public with the Rangnick interview as well. I think the club saw the positive reaction to that and are now trying to recreate it.

I'm not sure if it's necessarily the best approach. But United seem to be all about engagement and media footprint these days.

Yeah but they are just giving their opinion on things really. There is a difference between him and Souness, he actually thinks a £90m Pogba needs to have 5 assists a game whereas Grealish doesn't.

They started the pissing interview process on Monday. Of this week.
But the managers they want are all employed. They probably had to wait for an international breaks for their employers to allow any meetings?

Ah. So you're moaning about some hypothetical scenario that may or may not happen at some point in the future, that'll take place on a personal Twitter account (assuming it does actually happen). You're moaning about someone moaning. It'd be quite funny if it wasn't so tedious and didn't derail numerous threads and worthwhile discussions.

Also, Carragher (everyone's favourite media darlin') backed Neville up in the argument with Linekar. So it's not exactly clearcut. You just happen to not like Neville, so anyone that goes against him is some kind of a hero.

My point is they've had months to go through this process, Ole was sacked months ago, why did we wait so long when we knew we were going to hire someone in the summer. Why are they only starting now, it's been dragged out.

Well, it's not as if there's a whole thread dedicated to moaning about Neville.

A what?

Whats to grasp, you're just writing nonsense and then say to give you credit.

What should he do, brief the media and Mainoldo every day what has he done for the day?

But this is it. You don’t know what he does either but you want to play hero

Just allow it.

If we were quicker could any of our appts start or even do a bit of the job till the season is over anyway?

If the interviews could have been done earlier, would it have saved any time at all?

Oh here we are. The clueless left wing Caf posters society.

Clearly I said the wrong title. Imagine if I thought Darren Fletcher was doing Murtough’ Stoke, further more imagine believing I did.. But not surprised you thought that you just read stuff and grasp nothing.

But enlightening me. What has Fletcher brought to the table since having his ‘Technical Director role’?

Who’s he recommended to the first team? Was he the one who told Ralf to not use 4222? Was it infact Fletcher who suggested AWB should be placed back in the first 11?
Just out of curiousity, what do you think Fletcher hasn't done that your preferred 'Technical Director' would've done?

If RVP wanted to come and be assistant coach to ETH I'd be all for that. At least he's had some experience in the role at Feyenoord.

Also he's an actual winner and was a top professional.

Because things can happen in football very quickly. Things can change in 2 months time.

What difference would it have made if they interviewed the candidate 3 months ago to now?

The reason they are interviewing Poch and Ten Hag now is because they have been knocked out the CL as well, so clubs will allow other clubs to talk to the manager.

I’ve got no problem with Darren Fletcher. My original point was make him an assistant as he’s literally come in as a trainee to Technical Director within months and the current position this club is in. I don’t really want Darren Fletcher playing an important part in deciding who we keep, buy and promote.

Paul Mitchel? Yes let’s try that route for now. These positions are important and we’ve literally adopted a boot room approach.

You're a smart man. I always make sure to listen to Gary before making my opinion as well...

Me too. Whatever he’s for I’m against. His track record of being wrong with his views for this club are impressive.

So Ferdinand has outright denied the story.

I'm sure that years from now, people will use these 15 minutes when Rio was linked on Twitter as proof of another Ferguson conspiracy.
It was so obvious a bullshit story from unknown source. I don’t know why some people posted it and believed it.
