There is a thread about Paul Mitchell possibly coming to United. Does that increase our chances of going for Poch rather than the baldie?

There's no point in hiring a high press coach then forcing on him three forwards who won't press. Poch is not to blame for that, the awful DoF is.
It's not about the high press, because not every coaches primary goal is to by-pass the midfield and counter press high up the pitch.

PSG have very technical players in the forward positions, so it would've been better for them to higher someone who was adept at implementing a possession game with zonal and positional capabilities. Pochettino has never been that type of coach and is thus predictably struggling. It's not a coincidence that the likes of Emery and Tuchel had a better win percentage than Pochettino, because both Emery and Tuchel adhere to the positional play principles.

If I'm not mistaken Mitchell left Spurs partially because Pochettino wanted more influence.

Not exactly a great day for both our top prospects. Maybe we should look into Carlo after all. :nervous:

Ajax vs Feyenoord has been a really good game. Some great skill on display. Feyenoord have been lethal on the counter attack but I wouldn't say Ajax have been bad by any means.

Think the Ajax players are just confused considering its two baldy coaches battling it out :wenger:

Arne Slot is supposed to be the next big thing, so it shouldn't be a surprise that Feyenoord are playing well.

Reiss Nelson who's on loan to Feyenoord from Arsenal just did a class bit of chest control.

So the untested Ten Hag who has zero experience in management at a top European league - the Eridivesie isn't that - is favoured by fans in this poll. Sorry. He is a fashionable name with no substance. I'd rather have Moyes back than Ten Hag. I'd have had Conte yesterday. I'd have Hassenhuttl or Potter before Ten Hag.

Amusingly a prankster has put on Wikipedia that he will join Man Utd in the summer. Hahahaha. Please no.

I love this post haha.

The first time Feyernoord have scored 2 goals before half time against Ajax in the Dutch league.

Ten Hag - our kind of record breaker

It's strange how a team that has consistently been rock solid at the back have started to leak silly goals all of a sudden. Maybe the manager uncertainty is causing a distraction

With Ajax could it be the players sense he is going and are not working as hard. A bit like when SAF announced his retirement too early.

Ya, they had only conceded 5 goals all season by mid-February, yet they've now conceded 8 goals in their last 4 games. It is a bit weird.

I'm watching the game and the players are working hard. They're still playing quite well, just been exposed on the counter. The 1st goal was down to their cb Timber pushing up and leaving a space in the defence. Once he was dispossessed Feyenoord countered extremely quickly. The 2nd goal was just a terrible mistake by Berguis. They have been a bit unlucky I'd say. Overall their form has dropped in their last 5 or so games for whatever reason though. Their defence in particular are conceding too many goals recently.

I'm watching the game. Ajax are going hard and it's almost like a cup final as you'd expect against a bitter rival. The goals were cheaply conceded though and Fyenoord pressed them into costly mistakes.

Haven’t kept with the news this weekend; woke up to a bunch of tweets saying we will announce the next manager soon? Whats going on/do we know who its going to be?

Timing is intriguing. Maybe mid-February was when it was all sorted? ETH is somewhat mentally checking out and it bleeds down to his squad?

twtter reds are all over that Ten Hag guy which is worrying

I havent watched much of Ajax since their Champions League Cup run in 2019 so my knowledge is limited tbf...the stats this season are impressive though...

My first choice would be Tuchel.

If it's absolute maximum of 4 signings then for me it has to be

DM
ST (ability to play wide on right too)
RB
creative CM (when Pogba leaves)

Yes there is an issue for a left footed RW and clearly Varane needs a better partner, however a DM will help provide solidity

DM and ST definitely after that though GK comes next for me unless the new manager believes Henderson can do the job, because De gea definitely can not, the ball watching goalkeeper who's only posistive trait is reaction saves on the line. Put a ball playing GK who actually commands his area and is willing to come of his line and you will be amazed by the different it makes to the defence.

Creative CM is a maybe, because if Ten Hag comes the you would imagine V.D.B will be part of his plans.

So Pep had one year managing Barcelona B and then he was promoted to the first team. The rest is history.
Dortmund gave the chance to Klopp, who managed Mainz, in Germany’s second league . We all know the heights Dortmund reached with him.
Hassenhuttl and Potter managing career is bigger than Ten Hag because they managed in a top European league? Really?

Ajax 2-2 Feyenoord. Direct from a Tadic free kick. The keeper should do better tbh.

Antony is talented in a lot of ways but he really needs to improve his shooting. He's taken some very embarassing shots in this game and I've seen a lot of other howlers from him before also.

Potter and Hassenhuttl are plying their trade and testing themselves in the toughest world league. Ten Hag is untested in a top level league. I'd have Arteta before Ten Hag. The Eredivisie is a poor standard league. It is currently judged by Uefa as the seventh best league in Europe in terms of standard, behind Portugal and just in front of Austria and...Scotland.
