We're going to hire Poch, not because we have a vision, or we think he's the right fit, but because he'll most likely be available in the summer.
We appointed RR not because we have vision, but because he was available. We didn't sign Conte not because we compared the pros and cons of signing him and decided it's not worth it, we didn't sign him because we were reactive in sacking Ole, not proactive when Conte was available.
The club is run by lazy incompetent people, it runs throughout the entire club now, has trickled down to the players who don't care anymore, most of them anyway.
Poch, ETH, or Zidane, nothing is going to change till we terminate everyone at the club and hire people on competence and not sentiment/nepotism.

I do think part of the delay was Woodward not wanting another sacking on his CV before leaving. They really tried to give Ole as much time to turn it around as possible.

I must be one of the few not convinced by Tuchel. Chelsea haven’t really kicked on this season and anybody who thought Lukaku was a good idea needs his head checking.

It's a long shot, but I'd love Tuchel here.

For all he's saying the right things for Chelsea fans right now, I doubt he'll want to stick around if they get average new owners, and even of they don't at a club that will be tainted for a good few years to come given how they've funded their last 20 years of 'success'.

Going by what we have seen Lukaku coming to Chelsea was certainly not the idea or desire of Tuchel.

He has a way of playing that Lukaku did not fit into and he never tried to change that idea before quickly benching him

I think Tuchel will stay put. I dont think the new owner(s) will look to disrupt the stability by getting rid of the manager who has done very well. Chelsea also has a very good squad, so they will be fine even if they won’t make many signings this summer.

No distractions for the club, the next manager is literally the only task they need to attend to!

Get it sorted asap!

I do actually, him and Conte are my preferred choices
If that man comes anywhere our club, I'll give up my season ticket. Disgusting football team. Can't remember leaving a match so angry for years - not since Mourinho's Porto team of playactors.

Can we get a manager that wants to constantly play on the front foot, play beautiful football? And not sitting back, restricting creativity and only hitting on the counter?
Simeone’s team may be hard workers and good defensively, but as far as I know, attacking teams like Real and Barca have won a lot more than Atletico, and are a lot more entertaining to watch.

Yes, simeone is easily the worst choice

Doesnt matter what manager comes i. The club is so badly run it wont make much of a difference unless we strike lucky with said manager.

The only way we get back to competing is for the Glazers to sell and the next owners to have some footballing background and know how to run a football club rather than use the club as a marketing ploy or bank machine.

We have City Liverpool Chelsea Arsenal and Spurs to compete with and thats assuming Newcastle will take a couple of years before they start competing aswell.

We either get lucky with the next appointment or we are looking at a good few years before we begin to compete again. All those teams around us have settled squads where we are now looking to rebuild again.

Have we just become the Liverpool of the 2000s?

This is from the same article. So pick one then? You’ve had how many months now to evaluate, club is still a joke even with these new people in

Before this appointment, the first thing to do should be to identify all who were involved in Maguire's transfer and his appointment as the captain. Those should be removed from this process. Otherwise, it will be the same muddled approach, and the result will be muddled.

Need to confirm the next permanent manager earlier for him to have time to plan summer signings and get the players fitness up. With this lot, next year is going to be another year in the wilderness.

As I've said, Poch will be confirmed as manager next season by the end of this month. Either officially or nonofficially. You can quote me on this.

If we want Ten Hag instead of Poch, surely the club will have to wait no? He’s still contracted with Ajax and is in a title race with PSV and will be in maximum concentration with his team on that. We just can’t pluck him away from his club as we like

That wasn't the case, Ed just waited for it to be someone else's problem, it really should've been clear to them that there is going to be no "turning around" with Ole.

Weird. Surely it should've been gathering pace immediately after Rangnick was appointed

It wouldn't be a surprise if the board thought they could hold the search for a permanent manager and consider Ralf for the role, based on our progress in CL. Now that we have crashed out of all competitions, the board has no other choice than to appoint a new guy.

I'm still gutted that Zidane doesn't seem likely to see an interest in the PL or in more particular United.

I can see PSG going for a more "French approach" with Zidane as manager and scooping up French players like Pogba on Free's.

Even if Tuchel is interested, how can we get him? Wouldn't paying a compensation for him fall under a "transaction"?

We have a director of football so things like these don't become an issue. What is wrong with this club?

They've reportedly tried twice and hes not been keen twice.
Hes also hinted never doing it in the past since he's a Marseille guy.

Question marks over Murtough's competence as DoF aside, I doubt the position itself is much more than a token with little power. Everything still goes through Arnold and Glazer, and everyone else is left twiddling their thumbs waiting for a response.

I think we’re waiting for PSG to sack Poch so we don’t have to pay compensation.

I don’t think he would’ve been sacked if he won the Watford game. We had an easier run coming after that and there would have been enough good results for him to hang on.
