Like most, out of the front runners I hope we get ETH. Even after PSG's CL exit, I would also be comfortable with Poch. Sometimes, you can't really tell which manager is actually going to be the best fit, even if one theoretically looks better on paper.
I do feel a little more confident with the new club structure with Arnold, Murtough and Rangnick involved that we have a better chance of getting things right this time.

They haven't been good for years in the CL. They last made the quarter finals in 2011/12. They've fared better in the EL.
Not the Benfica of old, but their CL record is probably more similar to Ajax even under Ten Hag save for 2019
The most interesting part in Erik ten Hag's CV would be 2013-2015 as Bayern U-23 coach, in which he overlapped with Guardiola's tenure there. In lots of interviews he mentioned that he watched Guardiola's training courses closely and tried to learned how Guardiola converted his philosophy on the pitch with his training. In a lot of ways, you can see Ajax's games assembly Guardiola's style .

At this point it seems like it doesn’t matter how much Pochettino fails wherever he is. People will always want him because of what he did for Spurs . This feels more like Mourinho without the trophies

Who are these other candidates they are considering? I've not heard anyone else apart from the two obvious ones.

By that time utd fans and owners will be obsessing over another boring, over the hill manager. It will never change.
I don’t think it’s fair to put Enrique in the same bucket as ETH and Poch, guy broke many of Pep’s Barca records and won a treble - the others have won zilch of note.
Poch would be the best hands on and current coach we’d have had post SAF, sign him up and then if he’s not cutting the mustard line up Enrique for after the WC.

We’ll hopefully it would be longer but if we’ve not improved by Jan/Feb and he’s come in the summer, there’d be no issue with him leaving. Managers need time but not years, you should see some improvements by 6 months.
ETH is the fans favourite. But I would like to curb the fans expectation. He won't be instant success, not even Pep or Klopp are able to do it. Man Utd has too much shits he has to deal with and are millions miles off from a proper team that are capable to mount serious title challenge.

The cheap option is always the best option. It's a strategy that has brought the club great success in the last 10 years and left us with the best coaches in the game, world class players, a state-of-the-art stadium, and ultra-modern facilities.

Managers have to live by their career choices, though. Tuchel was at PSG before Poch and steered them to a CL final. As JPRouve has explained in the past, Tuchel left PSG because of a bad relationship with Leonardo. Poch will leave PSG because he has fumbled their CL tie.
And also, if we're admitting that Poch has found it impossible to motivate a team full of overpaid entitled wankers, it'd be moronic to see if he can suddenly do it here. Give it to someone that hasn't yet failed at that particular job.

I don't think United fans expect this.
Most worryingly for me is the lack of identity that his teams play with. A manager who has failed with a team of stars and them worse than the sum of their parts is the absolute last option we should be considering.
No thanks. He should have been appointed after SAF. That ship has sailed. If we are appointing him might as well appoint Capello.

If ETH first season here finish outside Top 4, similar to the season we are having now. Many will call for his sacking. It is a very likely scenario because we are in need of major restructuring next season. We have many problems to fix and ETH need to get used to PL.
Yesterday's capitulation should rule out Poch imo.
He might be super clever and he might have a deep footballing knowledge. But the United dressing room need a leader who can build a cult of personality: someone who can command instant respect (like LvG), has a dominant personality (like Mourinho), and who has the right man-management skills to keep massive egos in check (like Ole).
I think Poch fails on all three. If he'd managed to win the CL this season, that might have been enough to satisfy the first condition. But, without something more impressive on his record, if he ever steps into Carrington, the players won't give him the time of day.
And just like at PSG, I don't see any evidence that he can reform a club from top to bottom. That's probably the biggest thing United needs. Coaching and transfers will just be adding apples to an already spoiled barrel.

That goal was purely on Donnarumma. Should’ve cleared it much earlier not inviting the contact from Benzema.
