I could be clutching here but doesn't ten Hag also prefer a professional structure working above him? This could be Rangnick helping the club get said structure in place.

In fact, regardless of manager, that structure needs shaping properly so it functions properly.
Deputy Football Director role?
Doubt it that Mitchel would agree to becoming Deputy DOF. Considering his reputation it would be the equivalent of Wenger or Mourinho becoming an assistant manager to Ten Hag or Poch.

Pfft you guys can’t read between the lines. Nothing about managers. It’s negotiating for Tchouameni.

United are the world leaders in management recruitment. We've had so many in the past 10 years

Couldnt they just zoom that meeting? Why show/fly up from Monaco to watch an academy match?
Apparently Mitchel has got family in the area. Visiting family as well as an old colleague (Rangnick, as they worked together for RB) makes sense.

Mitchell is more than likely gonna take on the Deputy DOF role he wouldn't be at a united game otherwise knowing can be photographed they would of met for a coffee

The link with Poch is easy to make but i cannot see it

More than Likely after the 2 years Paul Mitchell becomes Sporting Director replacing Rangnick eventually unless he stays on

We are just putting a proper structure together, whether it changes anything nobody knows

have no doubt they discussed a couple players Tchouameni maybe even Badiashile we were linked with him and fits the profile of what we require

Anything else insightful from that DT article with The Athletic? Not signed up but curious to see what he says as he's a good journalist. As such, if we do have reservations about Pochettino then the one clear answer really is ETH

A bit of a nothing article to be honest, but has a few bits of information. United need a manager that's able to stand up to Klopp, Pep and Tuchel. Picking a manager is not straight-forward. United made a mistake by not hiring Poch back in 2019. He won't struggle with the language and is still the number 1 choice for manager, but his performance in the CL this season might affect the final decision. There are doubts about Rangnick. And a bunch of quotes from Neville.

Overall, it seems to point to Poch being the premier choice. I hope Real Madrid save us from such a fate.

I’ve just seen on Twitter that supposedly Pochettino has turned us down. Nothing from a reliable source yet but hopefully it’s true. Would surely make the boards mind up for them to go after ETH.

Its an FA youth cup game, there is also another side.

So what do the scouts at Monaco do? Or is he chief scout and also scout whilst also being Technical director. So many roles.. no wonder he’s meeting up with Rangnick to see if he can get a way out.

Same probably more pay less roles. Perfect.

You mean you hope Pochettino loses so as to place your preferred choice in a stronger position? If Poch can win the CL with PSG he should be offered the united job, if PSG don't cling on to him. Same with ETH.

No, I mean they get him as their manager after PSG sack him. He is not winning the CL.

I believe Howson on this because I desperately want him to be right.
He literally just cited catalan "Sport". And then proceeded to say that someone "reliable" replied in his comments that it [that Poch turned down United] is lies.

Ah, now it makes sense then. They probably want him to take the Real Madrid job instead.

Would be interesting to see this place if Ten Hag manages to get knocked out by Benfica

Sir Alex failed to qualify from the group stage and got knocked out of the Europa League by Atletic Bilbao. Bad results happen. It wouldn't undo the quality body of work that ETH has shown for the last few years.

Hoping it's because Madrid have already made a move for him to replace Ancelotti after the season. Would be good for us
Not sure it is a good thing, if ETH doesn't want to come or goes elsewhere Poch is probably the next best option in my opinion. If Enrique didn't want to come to United after Ole was sacked, there's no chance he's joining us this summer, just a few months before the WC.

What are the chances that we miss out on Poch and Ten Hag? Poch may view Madrid as an ideal landing spot where it looks like Perez is on the hunt to build the next great Madrid side. Unlike our clown owners who don’t know how to win without Sir Alex, Madrid have the winning formula.

Ten Hag has been slowly building his reputation at Ajax and the next step will be a big one for him. Does he take the risk on what some may view as the poisoned chalice in the United job or wait a year to step into city who have a proper footballing structure in place and massive backing from the owners. There is a chance we could miss out on both, what do we do then? Enrique, Conte, Potter? This summer could be very humbling for the owners who are far too arrogant for a club that has achieved nothing in a decade.

If we can't get ETH and Poch is gone then Potter or Enrique would be great choices once we have the proper structure above them.

Enrique or Potter would be my 3rd and 4th choices and surely we are not going to miss 4 targets.
I’m very sure both conte and tuchel will be available this summer and Don’t want to see them at united simply because I don’t rate their tactics or playing style.
