Was originally planning to team up with @Šjor Bepo, but seeing as there seems to be a bit of a struggle filling up the places I'll throw my hat into the ring. Not hugely knowledgeable when it comes to football pre 90's so if one of the more experienced drafters would like to give me some advice with selections, I'd be up for that.

I can be your AM, won't have much time to post in match threads though.

Struggling to fill up places.... perhaps we have reached the draft interest ceiling!

I'm out. Since I started it's been full of tactical voting where quite a few managers are voting to knock the strongest sides out.

Happened many times I'm not just on about my own games.

Been the point of view of others I have spoken to as well.

Seems pointless.

Like who/when? Surely you're noy referring to Tuppetgate.

Sounds like something MJJ would say. :D

Curious to know why you feel this? Not everyone rates players the same way

Can you give an example mate?

I thought you had one of the best teams for the first round but losing one draft shouldn't discourage you. Happens from time to time and as @Indnyc said some rate players differently, some have favorite players, but all in all (minus Tuppetgate) most vote without back thoughts.

It's fine but it's happened every draft I've done including the newbie one in my eyes anyway. Also a couple of others have said the same although I will not reveal who they are as that wouldn't be fair.

Maybe I'll have another go but I don't even enjoy the match debating at all either so probably it's just not for me.

If the FM one ever happens again though I'd be all over that one.

Good luck to all.

Hope you stick around mate. I know match discussions can be tiresome, but all in all it's a great fun building the sides and new managers and approaches are always welcome to see. :)

Imo managers and assistants shouldn't be allowed to both vote in other games while they are still in the draft, tactical voting can happen and tbh its not against the rules.

What I meant is the teams with assistants shouldn't both vote (just one) , not all managers barred from voting.
ah, yeah! That sounds about right and we can implement it for the next draft. Is fair IMO.

This is a very valid point. If you are on your own taking on a 2 man team you are going to be a vote down before even starting.

just curious, what exactly do you achieve if AMs vote for you? If someone votes for a team A then switches around after he sees the poll results then he is a moron, plain and simple. With moving down here where there are no scam voters, its fair to assume nobody would do something like that.

Nah managers and assistants votes don't count in their games mate. What 2mufc0 meant was that only one can vote in other games to avoid somehow tactical voting and in a way taking out the better team of the competition.

I don't disagree. But in doing that we are conceding that tactical voting does happen and by extension we are basically allowing it for single manager votes.

Not really sure what the solution is - there is no perfect voting system. I imagine that around 80% of the votes and discussion are from existing managers all of whom will have their own agendas. In the majority of cases I'm sure the strongest team wins, but other factors will play into the voting from time to time such as existing relationships, tactical reasons (be it a strong competitor or player upgrades), manager conduct in the thread, etc.

Are you sure about that mate? I am just picking on this game here as one example. To me I see 11-5 with both managers included in the count?

They are visible, but those votes don't count when we tally it up in the end.

Also for SF's managers votes still left in the competition doesn't count as well. For example if me or TRV vote in the current SF our votes will not be counted. (I usually don't vote to avoid confusuion)

Wasn't aware of that either thanks.

Tactical voting is part of the process and there's nothing we can do about it. But like I said we can can cut down the influence of teams that can vote twice on a game.

I would've said that this were all fantasies but Tuppet undermined this argument. I still think that the results are rarely unfair and I haven't seen much of the blatant tactical voting aside from him, obviously. Hopefully you'll rethink your position and come back to us but if this, real or imaginable, situation spoils the fun for you, who can blame you.
