Next Draft - Ideas and Discussions

@2mufc0 Sure if you need the numbers making up. I've realised I'm not as good as most at them but I'll have a good go.
Great! You're in.

BTW, as heinous as Tuppet's rigging of the mains draft was/is, what embitters me most is the fact that he disrupted the development of honest newbie draft managers by monopolizing newbie drafts — winning 2 of the last 3 championships (and reaching the final of the third, where he lost to @BIG DUNK).
Draft IX: Newbie Sheep Draft IV (Winner: vish34)
Draft X: Newbie All-Time Chain Draft (Winner: TooSweet)
Draft XI: Newbie Monopoly Draft (Winner: BIG DUNK)
Mark of a truly deplorable character, IMO.

Even in the ongoing South America draft, he's created a difficult situation by mass-voting against a team that has Pelé...

I’ll go on the reserve list just incase anymore undercover accounts get discovered and need replacing

In the first one he's playing against himself! How sad :wenger:

On a side note, do you have to be a mod to have access to the newbies?

Nope, posters with 20,000 posts have access to Newbie Forum, too (aside from a few hand-picked posters — and Scouts and Modmins, of course). All of the former lot receive this PM:

Greetings caf old timer! Congratulations you have won the honour of access to the newly restructured Newbies Forum!

It's all gone a bit dust ball like in there of late what with Newbies posting more in the Main Forums and such. But we're now starting to restrict various Newbies to the Newbies Forum, those who are not receiving likes quickly enough and are stagnating in the Mains. They'll have to earn promotion the old fashioned way.

We don't want them to be too lonely down there so the modmins figured it would be nice to let some of the longer term members have access as well to liven things up if they feel so inclined. Those with access are mostly members with 20,000 posts or more, with a sprinkling of some others.

Feel free to join in or not. You'll see a new "Newbies" tab on the homepage. There's only one Newbies Forum now and it uses Thread Prefixes to identify the topic of threads (Man Utd, Football, General etc).

If you definitely don't want access PM Niall.

That's how @MJJ, @Moby, @Edgar Allan Pillow, etc. were able to read the Newbie Draft threads concerning Tuppet's alter-egos.

Whoops, good thing that I PM'd Raoul then not Niall

Almost everyone has lost matches due to vote tampering.. Sad state of affairs.. How much time would you need to have to maintain 6 accounts

Wasn't Tuppet a cop too? I reckon he sat in his car with donut in one hand and the Caf in the other

@Invictus is he going to be perma banned or will he be allowed to join back?

Also, when are you going to come back to drafting again?

He went way too far, shouldn't be allowed back in ever. And I wouldn't want to play in a draft with him.

Yeah me too.. Every draft I played since I joined has been manipulated.. It leaves a very bad taste

Nooooooooo! Nope, no way is that jabroni going to be allowed back in — way too many violations (not just the Draft in isolation but site-wide Redcafe Terms of Service rules). Though his @Tuppet account is currently unbanned, in case he wants to say a few words, or perhaps apologize for this fandango (fat chance but hope springs eternal and so forth).

Fair enough.. Thanks.. I don’t think anybody would want to play with him again

@harms @Invictus what do you guys think about asking permission for us to hold the quarters, semis and finals in the football forum to improve voters participation? Would be a good balance of not flooding the football forum and us not losing so many votets.

Don't think that it's an option.

Nein, the current system is just fine considering it's a niche hobby and there's no need to revisit decisions that were made after a lot of behind-the-scenes deliberation (spanning months if not years). Matchday threads are incredibly unpopular among your run-of-the-mill Caf poster — who outnumber draft members severalfold and are fairly vocal to boot, and this sub-forum was a sweet compromise considering “nuke drafts out of orbit” was also a realistic option in the face of profound resentment.

I blame @Tuppet

The voting numbers for the current final aren't that bad tbf.

“nuke drafts out of orbit”
Would be a ridiculous suggestion on a football forum where non United discussions are welcome. It maybe a fantasy game but, as you would know, throughout the years we have had some absolutely brilliant discussions and insights for players. Lots of people not just us have an interest in the history of the game, can't see any logic in banning those discussions on a football forum.
