Fair enough, just floated an idea.
Modern Draft Rules
Standard T&C:
S1 - Players born on or after 1st Jan 1985 are eligible. Messi & Ronaldo blocked.
S2 - Maximum 3 players per league. Current club will determine the league
S3 - Initial drafting of 12 players. Extra 2 players per Reinforcement Round 1 in the final.
S4 - 8 hrs per pick. Do not wait or provide extra time.
S5 - No change in picks after posting.
S6 - No substitutions. Tactical changes with in-field players only.
S7 - Open pool reinforcement. Undrafted players can be drafted now.
Assistant/Co Managers:
In match thread, only one of the managers is allowed to post for the duration of the match. The other manager is restricted to 3 posts or less for the duration of match thread. Make your choice and make it clear on match thread on who will lead the discussions.
It's not one at at time. It's just one for the match.
Match submissions:
More of a request. Most managers have multiple days before their matches are due to be played. Please make your submission before and do not wait for match day to make your submission and avoid last minute delays.

2mufc0 and I are discussing if we can add more restrictions if we allow Messi and Ronaldo.
Edited the rules post to add maximum players per league rule.

I'm in for either draft but really do think we should run modern next. Been an age since we've had one
Yeah were're doing modern next mate, see above for draft rules. Also could do with input on whether to block Messi and Ronaldo.

Don't see why they should be excluded.
No was asking which league they would belong to .
Best would be the last club they played for.
How about if a manager pick Messi or Ronaldo they have to select 2 players from a south American league?

Where they have most appearances would be more appropriate.
why not just 3 retired players, same limitation as the leagues.
Any reason why? I think handful of players would play in washed up leagues given the max age of eligible player

Don't think that restriction is required. The timeline and league restriction is enough.
Yeah block them, too far ahead of every other player eligible.

And this is when half the sign ups were copied were copied from the Road Trip one.
Tbh I am not the biggest fans of modern ones either, but this one would flush the pool. It's just that there's very little chance of learning something new or even selling your players much and swaying votes as everyone already has a set opinion on them.
Can we do it with 12 managers? Just give one bye in semifinal and everything else works as before
