I have a feeling we will buy both Matic and Fabinho which will pave the way for Fellaini to feck off to China/Belgium/US/Championship

DM: Matic, Fabinho
MC: Pogba, Herrera
AMC: James, Periera
I wish that was the case but that won't happen. Fellaini and his 'unique' set of traits will convince Mourinho enough to keep him. I can't see us signing two midfielders (Matic, Fabinho) and then go on to sign two more attackers in (Perisic and Morata). We will most likely end up with

Lindelöf, Morata, Perisic, Matic.

That's pretty shite looking in all honesty. I know it's not all about Galacitco signings, or what a team looks like on paper but feck me, that is pretty poor.

If I am unlucky enough to witness Matic AND Fellaini on the same Old Trafford pitch in the same Man Utd kit next season....I think i will self combust on the spot

"I'm fed up of United playing Fellaini."

A few moments later.

"Why are United signing a proven title winner for our midfield."

We'll sign Matic and he'll be worth feck all in 2 years while Fabinho will move this summer for a similar 40m fee and probably be touted at 90m in 2 years time. Infact it will probably be us bidding 90m for him.

Proper shit signing this, he's on the decline big time.

There's no beating around the bush here. Carrick is a former player in all but name and Fellaini is a no 10 whose being played as DM as he's too shit to play upfront. We therefore need 2 DMs. Also in Italy, there's plenty of rumours of Darmian being Juventus target. I don't think Mou wants Darmian to leave. However we're talking of Juventus here (for an Italian player its the equivalent of having a threesome with Jessica Alba and Belen Rodriguez) so he will find it pretty hard convincing Darmian to stay especially since he's a reserve at United.

Now, what I do think is going to happen is that we will buy Matic as DM and Fabinho as cover for him and Valencia. That will allow Carrick to retire with some dignity (ie we kept him as 'cover' for Matic. Not solely to earn an extra 12 months of salary) + it will let us release Darmian + it will give us time for Fabinho to settle down (some say he's still quite rash). Once Carrick kicks the bucket on his football career, Fabinho will move in CM and we will start to work on Valencia's replacement.

I can't see us doing anything as in depth as that to be honest, plus we'd still be stuck with a useless lump we paid £40M who'll be 30 with no takers, I also don't see Fabinho being willing to come in as squad cover in a world cup season. The other aspect is that Jose loves him some Fellaini, that can't be underestimated.

It's the wings that are shit. The midfield and defence looks fine and Morata is quality. But yeah those wings and full backs...very poor.

Update: He is going to be on £155,00 a week. That's more than Sanchez, Mata and Ozil earn. This is like the gift that keeps on giving LOL

Sanchez and Ozil are due for significant pay rises. Maybe calm down a bit.

Guess it makes sense if Jose wants some added height in the team if we're going with Lindelof and Bailly as our CBs.

Calm down? Matic shouldn't been anywhere near their wages, even if they only have a year left on their contracts. Also, if those 3 weren't enough, here's a few more who would earn less....Lukaku, Vardy, Kane and Coutinho.

Thankfully we looking elsewhere than perisic, but yeah that front 3 perisic, morata and mkhi is not exactly the stuff of nightmares for other teams. Its worrying he is packing his squad full of work horses at times, when we need flair in our attacking play not more workhorses, its not has if we already have lingard and young already for those jobs. Many question why we have had trouble scoring goals, when we keep buying ok no10's and workhorses in our flair positions, of course we going to find it hard to score goals

Yeah matic isn't better than vardy. Are you serious?

Having read the last few pages, I can safely say that at least he won't be weighed down by unrealistic expectations.
Matic-Ander-Pogba would be the most intimidating midfield to play against in Europe.

Does that help with the expectations...?

Wait, this is actually on?

Yes. Mass hysteria has fully set in. The lynch mob is already gathering - pitchforks, torches and all - outside Ed Woodward's office. Expect several threads to appear in the mains shortly, along the lines of "How do Chelsea do so well in the transfer market?", "Mourinho: past it?", "Our club is in decline", and of course the old classic "Woodward out?".

Wait until we confirm Rooney will see out his contract.

Wonder why " Sky Sources " still didn't report anything about this, considering this is the same BS news they love to copy from other media. Strange.

I would not even say pretty. Looks like fecking Liverpool who only can only dream about trophies and are happy if they get to top4 every second season. There should not be spot to Darmian or Perisic in our starting 11. And im not sure should there be place to Matic too. Word average means exactly this.

Don't want to be negative all the time but what else you can be with rumours like this? I mean we are hundreds of miles away from top4 European teams. :(

Shame Big Sam retired. Would've paid good money to see Jose nullify his long ball tactics with a midfield three of Fellaini, Pogba and Matic. The accompanying Caf meltdown would've been even better.

Mou loves his 6 foot plus players.

Out of interest who was the last under 6 foot player Mou singed for any of his teams...?

Was Miki a Mou pick or was his transfer already in place? I'm guessing he wasn't Mou's choice by the way he treated him early in the season.

Matic is anything but average, he's been a key part of a double premier league winning team under different managers. Hed be a fecking excellent signing.

Darmian wont be 1st choice and I don't know enough about perisic to comment

Matic? We have had this whole argument in response to you saying how a player like Fabinho would improve our team.

To which you Said it allows Pogba and Herrara to be more attacking. So what's your problem with Matic seeing as he allows the same.

Pedro, Willian, Modric...

a pogba injury won't kill us, but a herrera one will. Without herrera, but playing matic, we lose our defensive tackling and interceptions.

We´d definitely be lacking in mobility and ball-winning, but we´d have a lot of size, and if Mourinho won a title with Cesc in a midfield 2 he can probably make Pogba in a 2 work.

Hope you have a lot of patience with Bakayoko because he is even worse then Matic in the ways you described.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of him coming in really. Not sure what purpose he is really supposed to be serving.

This whole argument that if a player was part of a title winning team they must be excellent, is nonsense.

Anderson won several premierships under Fergie, the same Anderson that needed oxygen at half time in a certain game because he was so unfit. Steve Gerrard won NO titles. Now if I had to pick one of the two, I know who my money would be on.

 Ay, let's go back to David Gill and bring in the triumphant trio of Bebe, Gabriel Obertan and Michael Owen. What a time to be alive.

I'd love for him to come back and tell Mourinho who to sign.

The same guy brought in Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic, Evra, etc. His era at the helm brought us the most titles in spite of the Glazer takeover he was saddled with. It seems your memory bank has been defrauded.

I don't understand what's Ed problem here. he also brought top class players whatever they succeed or not, Di Maria, Falcao, Pogba, Zlatan. He was the one who brought Jose, too.

He's doing a very fine job.

Weird, could have sworn that Ferguson deserved some credit.

I am yet to see that this summer.
This is not what I was expecting when I was egging the team on to batter Ajax to a pulp. I expected world class players not PL "has-beens" like Matic.

I do not see how Matic improves our midfield asides having an extra body in there. The purpose of hocking off Schneiderlin to Everton becomes defeated if this deal goes through.

The only way this makes sense is if we are buying some hard core attackers and Perisic is a ruse. Sanchez and Kane for example. This team will compete with anyone.
