I just watched this. Quite relaxing music, and look away armchair managers at 4:09, he out-muscles Pogba. I know these compilations only focus on the good things, but I wouldn't be myself if I didn't want to add a bit more petrol to this inferno of rage.

How does herrera, 12cm shorter, 10KG lighter win more aerial duels than matic?

how much slack are we asking herrera to pick up with Matic in the CDM?

As others have pointed out, Matic has suffered a precipitous physical decline in recent seasons. Tackles, interceptions, clearances out of defence, aerial duels, dribbles - they are all down:

Nothing to worry about here. No disturbing signs at all.

I just think if the figure being quoted - 40m, is going to be spent, they have to immediately improve your 1st XI considerably. Matic just doesn't do that.

Yet they are willing to take that risk and somehow believe their replacement could do his job just fine.

Sure. Wouldn't be the first time a team willingly sells a player who ends up having success elsewhere.

Hard to believe that we'd be able to fleece you for as much as £40m if you're the only real suitor.

To think he managed to be that much worse than he was in Jose's last season... and he was total and utter garbage in Jose's last season.

No thanks. I'd rather not sign anyone than pay Chelsea over twice his value.

I really don't want this guy. I could see him having a BFS effect, as in he'd be fecking useless.

No surprise those stats went down after Kante arrived.

Because Fabinho can stay back and do the dirty defensive work while Herrera can push the field and be even more effective as an attacking player?

Sounds great in insight, but lets not kid ourselves. He's played number 10 and he's pretty much as effective as Mata. Yes Fabinho can break up play i get that, but he is not a better passer than Matic and i have never seen him dectate a game, like a Carrick and to a world class level Scholes (he's not that player). Like i said earlier we spend 3/4 of the season parked in the opposition box, what is Fabinho actually breaking down?

I like Fabinho as he would offer a great shield to the defence and is very direct but if anyone actually cared to watch us last season on here the most frustrating part of our play would be to see players panic and loose possession when we tried to chase a goal because the clock was ticking. We need someone in the middle that can move the ball quick, be direct and have game-time intellegence. Carrick is too old to offer this now week in week out and Pogba doens't have it yet, hopefully it will come with age.

Go with the flow and just say he's a turd, shit, garbage.

Herrera wont be playing as a #10. Pogba will be the highest midfielder forward. So Herrera will be that deeper lying playmaker who will have the freedom to move further up the pitch when the opportunity presents itself. We dont need Fabinho or a CDM to 'dictate' the play so to speak. We have Pogba and Herrera to do that. With Herrera using his skills further up the pitch instead of being a CDM, it will certainly increases our chances of opening up the defense since he can definitely play a killer pass.

That's so mainstream.

Matic is about as good as Keane, Vieira and Pirlo all rolled into one beautiful 28 yr old Serbian. Not to mention the boot he has on him. He's gonna be a United legend.

He does look good here.

First Perisic.....Then Morata.....Now Matic

When we qualified for the Champions League a few weeks ago, I genuinely thought there would be a queue of world stars wanting to join. How wrong was I. These signings sadden me

kante......and decline.

He probably has declined a bit like most players would but those stats are meaningless. Of course he'd have made more tackles with Fabregas as a midfield partner compared to Kante, who is amongst the league's best at all those stats mentioned.

Agree, very good addition to our squad. Carrick is absolutely finished so he will definitely be needed.
Yep. He will free up Pogba whilst Herrera can play box-to-box or even be part of the double pivot with Matic.

It's a signing which makes complete sense.

Everybody looks good in a youtube video.
I know but most of us have seen how good he has been in the past too. People who are saying he is now declining might be being slightly premature.

I'm pretty sure those trying to make this sound like a good idea haven't really watched him since the 14/15 season, he's declined considerably since then in all areas of his game.

They didn't do it very well last season. I like Herrara but lets not pretend he is something he isn't. He can be a very good player for us playing Similar to Darren Fletcher, anything more his quality will get exposed.

I've just read he is 29 in a few weeks and the fee is £40m. This gets worse and worse the more I read. No Jose, Please.
