Even if he is a good player it is going to get ripped on by rival fans
We need a poll!
But we want Pogba playing deeper so he can dictate the game as he did against England.I'm fine with buying him for £35m-£40m if Jose thinks he is what he needs. I can see him freeing Pogba to play further up, allow Ander to play with freedom, solidify the defence and keep it well shielded. And above all seeing less of Fellaini on the pitch.
Done deal, medical within 48 hrs. Why you wouldn't go after a young talent like Fabihno is beyond me.
You are absolutely right why on earth did the commentator say Matuidi..... feck sake now I look ridiculousFrance played a 4-4-2 and it was Kante and Pogba in midfield.
With a name like yours I'd assume you were a United fan, but the use of "you" in your post above suggests otherwise.Done deal, medical within 48 hrs. Why you wouldn't go after a young talent like Fabihno is beyond me.
Yep. Woodward isn't the sharpest is he? Christ some of these posts are hopeless.

statistically, fellaini adds more to our midfield than matic does. Fellaini is a better key passer, wins more tackles, wins more aerial duels and basically intercepts the same.
He is! sometimes I don't feel he gets the credit he deserves particularly from the pundits there too busy drooling over Kante who is a fantastic midfielder but Herrera for me is just as good.
Herrera is better.
Pretty much everyone's unanimous player of the year, including the player of the year as voted on by his fellow players. He was the key player in back to back title wins.Stats say otherwise. Kante is just the media darling at the moment. That'll soon change as it always does.
Most likely. Would love to know how he knows it is a done deal though. So many ITK's on here lately I can't keep track. He's probably using 'you' as in 'one'......if you get my drift.
I'm just watching this thread unfold before my eyes. The hysteria is deafening. Maybe we should let these folk run the club?
His first year for us he was very good indeed, seemed to always be in the right place to snuff things out and was a decent enough passer.
Since then though he's been a real letdown, slow and ponderous out of possession and not at all incisive with it. He won't be missed by anyone really as there's a lack of dynamism in his play. He also, for want of a better term, seems to play 'small' he's a big unit, but never really appears to be such on the pitch, he's not someone I've seen really dominate the opposition in the way that say... Michael Ballack used to do.
I don't think he'll be much missed or have the fans up in arms.

But Ander fecking Herrera is better. Stats are everything.
Anyways, on topic here, I think you guys will warm to Matic. Reading this forum will make you think he's an utter donkey like Fellaini who does nothing more than take up space on the pitch. He won't wow anyone and won't make the flashy Pogba passes but he'll be a solid 7/10 player most games.
Fellaini never plays a defensive role though, he's usually the furthest fecking forward out the 3.Nemanja Matic is miles improvement on Fellaini, that's a start I guess.

You're cool, man.You are absolutely right why on earth did the commentator say Matuidi..... feck sake now I look ridiculous![]()
Both Carrick and Alonso won the Champions League in a 4-3-3. I don't think you have to cover the fullbacks either. I think you're too much out of position if you're doing that.Well out of them Busquets is the only one with signifigant time as a single pivot and is pretty mobile, Alonso played the bulk of his career in a 2 and so did Carrick. You need to be able to get across the park to cover the fullbacks on both flanks if you are the single pivot and have 2 #8's pushing on ahead of you.
Look I don't really want Matic but what can you do? I guess getting hysterical and whining like an 8 year old is one option!I'm just watching this thread unfold before my eyes. The hysteria is deafening. Maybe we should let these folk run the club?
And yet you don't seem that arsed about him going. Your only concern is the amount of games you will play, and would like to keep him because of this reason, not for the football he produces.Anyways, on topic here, I think you guys will warm to Matic. Better key passer? Hardly. he always plays safe ignoring to play forward when a simple pass would open up the defense.
yet folks on the other side keep pushing this narrative that matic adds something to our midfield, when statistically, he doesn't.

You just love statistics.Key passes per 90 metric
Fellaini 1.00
Matic 0.67
More appeal to authority nonsense.
Feck statistics, I've been following Matic from before Benfica, I don't need stats to know that Fellaini is not even close to Nemanja regarding anything but elbowing, that is where Fella excels I guess.
My thoughts exactly. I will be more than happy with the players Mourinho signs this summer, the guy has a plan and players like Matic and Lindelof are the kind of players that will give solid performances. We get criticized for the galactico approach and then criticized for the under the radar approach. Our big signing this summer was meant to be Griezmann but due to circumstances and him being a decent guy the deal has been put on hold until a more suitable time. We need an upgrade on Carrick/Smalling/jones and we seem to be doing that. Someone on the wings would be nice and a goalscorer to come in soon and if we keep De Gea we will be set. Everyone needs to fecking relax and stop creaming yourselves over Fabinho who could easily be a nothing player in this league. Matic has played a part in two league championships in the last three, is at an optimal age to make an impact and would fit in nicely here. Also I'm pretty sure there were a lot of disgruntled fecks when we signed Carrick/Valencia/Evra. I've done enough moaning over the last four years and now we have one of the best managers in the world and got rid of the specter of Giggs trying to sleepwalk in to the job so I'm just going to fecking enjoy it this season knowing Mourinho is setting us in the right direction. When did the internet decide Nemanja Matic is rubbish? I can remember a time when the CAF loved Matic. In fact it was only two years ago that, on this very message board, people would declare Matic one of the best holding players in the game. When did he lose his rep? He's just won the title with Chelsea for the second time in three years, and for most of the season he was keeping Cesc out of the first XI. So when did it become a thing to say we should aim higher than Matic?
I do not know if there is truth in the rumours or not. However, if we do sign Matic I won't be complaining. He knows our league inside out, he's shown he can win in our league, and he is undoubtedly a very good holding player. I genuinely don't see what there is to dislike about this move. Is it just the fee?
Alonso played in a 2 with Modric and Carrick was in a 2 with Hargraves in those CL wins.
You just love statistics.
He hasn't played a minute for United , he hasn't even been signed, yet you know he won't add anything to our midfield.
Statistically.
