2 man midfield
Last Man Standing finalist 2021/22
Hope we sign both, and sell fellani.
This is my thinking too. Fellaini out, Matic and Fabinho in.
Hope we sign both, and sell fellani.
What I meant by working out well, is that he's integrated well and has become a solid and reliable player for us, he's a fan favourite and seems happy, I hope that clears things up. Basing league finishes on one player is ludicrous.
Select "show per 90 minutes". That's usually a better way to do these comparisons, although I don't expect the stats to be drastically different.
See this is what I was talking about earlier-Matic's tackling numbers are absolutely shocking now and have been shocking for some time now since Ashley fecking Barnes nearly shattered his leg. He just doesn't put his legs in compromising positions anymore. This is a man who averaged nearly SIX tackles per 90 in 2014/15.
If I were a United fan that's what would concern me above all else-age ain't nothing but a number, but it's the decline of his actual numbers on the pitch that's most problematic.
Seriously, who are you?
He hasn't been that impressive though. He's been alright - not our worst player for sure but Chelsea did much better after getting rid of him. Two titles and much more pace while we slowed down considerably after signing Mata and Fellani.
The guy needs a chance. If he turns out to be shit, then I've no problem with folk going mental.
'Don't read too much into stats' etc etc, but that tackles won stat is hilarious
Well we are about to sign a 29 year old for 40 fecking million. He better not be fecking shit. The guy needs a chance. If he turns out to be shit, then I've no problem with folk going mental.
Yet JOSE MOURINHO, a man who has worked with him intimately for a number of years, thinks he's good enough to take us to the next level. But logic is overrated, right? It's also generally accepted that Matic is passed his peak, especially by CHELSEA FANS. But what would they know? Let's refer to an arbitrary time window to be safe.
Meh...the amount of 'big name' signings we've had that people have jizzed over and have turned out wank recently. Would be good to actually try and get players to fit a working system.
I can't deny the fact Chelsea are much more pacey than us, Fellaini is just Fellaini - something I try to forget about. I feel he's been solid, and never angrily sigh when I see him on the lineup (something I do with Fellaini).
I just think this thread is turning into a bit of a hysterical joke. People are losing their shit by the minute. Matic is definitely not my first choice, but if it's who Jose wants, then he knows what he needs and what Matic offers. He certainly has cons (slow, lacks creativity at times) but he has pros (experienced for younger players, knows EPL, worked with Jose before).

Mourinho commented on the way he handled him, ie relegating him to the reserves. He didn't say he should have kept him or played him more.
Personally I'm not entirely blown away by Fabinho, so i disagree again. It'd be far more convinced of what we were getting with Matic who i believe still has a lot to offer. Some of the comments regarding him on here have been way wide of the mark, to the point I'm convinced some probably have never really seen him play.
Agreed. People were saying that Zlatan was passed his best and he pretty much saved our season. Pogba was having people in orgasms but had a tough first season in relation to expectation. Mourinho is not stupid, knows him well and obviously has a plan for how to use him within the team. If it happens, I really hope the disgruntled fans on here give him a chance and back him.
People are not going Mental over matic as per say, they are having problems with united not being intrested in fabinho much more. no one knows the exact situation.
I think we'd struggle to get top 4 tbh. Our squad has 0 killers and we have the works flanks in the top 6, a solid core isn't enough against the bus parkers of the league. We don't look like addressing our biggest problem from last season, goals.
Who said that? Zlatan scored 50 goals his last season in Paris.
Is there a difference if we retain the 4-2-3-1?Seems to have momentum this one. Perhaps not the most exciting of signings, but if it frees Pogba to drive forward then it'll improve us.

This.
Probably one or two posters always have to complain about something. We also got Zlatan on a free on a one year contract, there were almost zero risks.

I think some wanted us to build around Rashford I do not think anyone was saying he was past it.
Herrera's stats are better than Kante too...Thanks. I am not surprised that Herrera has the best overall stats. He's the type of defensive midfielder that I prefer over a "destroyer" type.
Do you think Fabinho or Dier would free Pogba?People thinking he'll free up Pogba clearly didn't watch him last season, he an oil tanker that will require Pogba to sit deep and cover his grass.
