NBA Thread 2013-2014

The 4th best 3-point shooting team in the NBA has suddenly lost their touch from beyond the arc. They paid for it last game, and they will continue to pay unless they start hitting threes again. They can't beat the Pacers without them.

Indiana has Washington exactly where they want them in this game. A low scoring game, with no big runs.

The Pacers will win this one.

The Wizards are falling apart here. They scored 45 points through 3 quarters. At home!

And I thought they could score enough to beat the Pacers,. Probably underestimated the inexperience part, which is showing pretty evidently now.

Wiz got schooled tonight. Pacers defense shut down Nene; Wall was out of sorts. Way too many turnovers for such a close game. Would have helped making free throws. Fear Pacers' class is stating to come out.

Good win for OKC. Westbrook has really improved after a few dodgy games against Memphis. Not trying to take ridiculous 3-point shots and stuff.

Probably because they're actually quite a good side the Clippers. Any little distraction could give OKC a welcome advantage considering they blow it around this stage normally.

So the Clippers are a good side and they beat the Warriors (who are also a good side) despite the Sterling stuff. Yet they won't beat OKC because of it? Find that a little flimsy. OKC aren't that great, Memphis pushed them hard. The Sterling stuff might effect the Clippers a little bit, but not enough to cost them the series IMO.

It's a good time to play the Clippers too with all their Sterling troubles.

I dunno, KD and Russ had to have some pretty good games to win Game 3. Paul and Griffin still played well, didn't look too distracted to me.

Memphis did push them hard, but Dirk and Dallas also took Spurs to 7 games. I wouldn't look too much into Thunder's struggles with Grizzlies (in the same way that we shouldn't look too much into Spurs' troubles getting past Mavs), other than it being down to match up problems and KD really really under-performing for 3 matches in a row. And the only thing that will cost Clippers the series is that Thunder at their best are better than Clippers at theirs.

I'm sorry but I don't recall saying the Clippers won't beat OKC at all so, get off your high horse. Thanks. My point was there's no time better than now to be playing the Clippers, win or lose, because of all the distractions surrounding them.

Read my posts before you proceed to take them out of context and try to attack me next time.

I wasn't taking them out of context. Or attacking you, sorry. Yeah, you didn't say that they won't beat them - fair point. Anyway, that was just disgraceful. Game started at 5:30 AM. Woke up and checked the score and 16 points up in the 4th. I knew it'd get close but c'mon, that's a huge choke. Would have basically won the series with that too. Have to win in OKC now.

Wiz couldn't hold a 17 point lead. Starters laid an egg-Harrington, Gooden and Miller played great. Gortat disappeared and Wall/Beal showed their inexperience. Pacers' D once again was great. Wait till next year.

I think OKC will come out of this alive. But another 6-7 game series surely will affect them during the conference finals? Great comeback from the Clippers though. I thought it was a done deal.

49 points on 16-24, that's some sexy numbers right there. Could have hit a playoff half century if he hadn't missed 5 free throws.

Damn. Nice from LeBron. Nice of Portland to at least extend the series a little. IF OKC do go through I really don't want a well rested Spurs team facing them. C'mon Portland, steal another game!

I don't really buy into the myth of "well rested Spurs" as much as others do, at least when facing Thunder. They struggled against OKC the past couple years mainly due Thunder's crazy athleticism and length, and this will still be the case whether or not Spurs finish their series in 4 or games or 7. Not to mention Reggie Jackson goes into full blown Spurs-killer mode for some reason when he plays them.

Wow-didn't see this one coming after Sunday's debacle. You know it's garbage time when Otto Porter's in the game. Got my tix for game 6. You never know.
