NBA 2023-2024

One starts to wonder how many times a player can violently attack others until there are actual consequences.
I also believe Kerr is handling these incidents very poorly. He should have stopped protecting Green about 23 incidents ago.

I was just having an argument with my brother about the soft treatment Popovich and Kerr get from the media. He was asked about the incident today and just said didn't see it, no comment and the press let him get away with it.

Kerr will reap what he sows, the once great warriors dressing room culture is now toxic and it will have an effect on their young players which has been playing better than the likes of Draymond, Klay and Wiggins this year.

Also Jokic ejected tonight after saying a bad word towards ref and thats on his 1st technical, he never got 2nd technical, new meta
To be fair Jokic is so clinical he probably erased that refs life ambition's with 1 sentence ;)

This is what makes it crazy, after each act he does this thing to makes it look like its accident but he is so bad at making it believable. Its his escape plan just like in vod above...he didnt intend to hit him, i mean

Its a shame, basketball wise i like Green, really smart player, IQ and understanding etc. but something is wrong with him, seems he has no control what so ever.

Would be interesting to have him tested for CTE. Can imagine that quite a few basketball players could have it.

Shouldn't get lost in the Jokic/Green discussions.

Officiating has become an absolute joke in the NBA.

@Sarni how are you liking Camara so far?

He's really exceeded expectations as far as I'm concerned - thought he'd be a role player with a few minutes per game at best in his rookie season. Definitely a good outcome for him to be involved in the Dame trade because this wouldn't have been possible at Phoenix imo. So cool to have a Belgian in the NBA again.

I was gutted we included him in the trade. Liked what I saw in during the preseason and thought he would have a chance to shine especially since he would be one of the few athletic players on the roster.

Draymond is out of control man. This man does not want to play basketball anymore. Get him a lengthy suspension and then tell him 'one more violent assault on the court and your suspension will be season long'.

It's getting to the point where we need to think about things like this, he needs mental heath assistance.

It is a shame, Kerr had as much gravitas as any coach in the league a few years ago. He's failing the organization and the culture is already heading into the dumpster fire.

I have seen very little of him or Portland this year as work is keeping me away from the games, just can’t skip sleep as I need to be at my best more so than the previous few years. From the little I’ve seen he looks like a very good defender that could probably develop into a useful players on a successful side. However we are probably 3-4 years from being any decent, Scoot appears to be further away from NBA quality that I had imagined so it may not even be at Blazers.

I wonder how many games it ends up being.

"Green, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Green's agent, Rich Paul, are expected to meet Thursday to start discussing a path of counseling and assistance for Green to move forward, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The league didn't want to put a specific number on the suspension but wants to allow Green the time he needs to deal with the challenges he's facing."

It's this a first in NBA history?

Really glad to see they recognize its a mental health issue.

If you class anger management as a mental health issue then fair enough (I'm not sure I do, but either way there is a mental aspect to it). Green has assumed for a long time (both on and off the court) that he was above the law and to a large extent as long as the Dubs were winning the vast majority were willing to look the other way and give him a pass (me included). The trouble is now that the Dubs are going through a tough period a certain petulance and entitlement which he has always exhibited has started to spiral out of control leading to where we are now. I do think he needs some time away from the game to get himself (more) under control so I think the NBA are taking the right approach.

Klay's best game of the season and the Dubs still lost.

Klay shot well and Draymond didn’t assault anyone. Moral victory!

klay has had a few games this season where he shoots decent percentage on really low volume, or starts shooting well and then 4Q comes and he looks like death. This was his best game of the season, we desperately need it going forward.

Looks like Steve Kerr (and the Warriors) are finally taking some responsibility for Draymond Green's behavior. I don't think Kerr exactly condoned it, but he was often an apologist for it. The statement he made last night before the Clippers game says it all. In a nutshell, Draymond needs help. His actions against Gobert and Nurkic were the actions of an out of control personality and the NBA are taking the right approach as far as not giving him a definitive amount of games as a suspension but more a period of time to get his life in order. He needs that time.

Almost gave another one away. Steph was not going to let us lose this one.

Klay with a couple of late clutch 3s too
I thought the 2nd three was really going to get us over the line, but then the Nets made a 3 and Klay missed his next two and it was back to being a one possession game again.

....and we've not won many of those this season.

Watching Pels vs Spurs on BT….feck me the Spurs can’t defend. Properly atrocious.

Get a lead, lose a lead. It must be entertaining for the neutral. Bloody awful as a fan.

Steph won us the game last night, but nearly cost us one tonight.

His consecutive 3 pt streak has also gone since he went 0-8 on 3s.

It also appears Klay might be finding his mojo.

It is starting to look not so good for the much hyped 2021 draft. The jury is still out on all of them in terms of the kind of players they'll end up being in their careers long term but I'm kinda okay with concluding none of the top 3 picks go top 3 again in a redraft today.

Jury is out on Cade the most out of all of these because he missed so much time due to injury. He hasn't looked anywhere near the floor raising floor general he was hyped to be. Granted, he's on a truly, historically pathetic team, and I personally gave Green a lot of excuses when he was being highly inefficient the last 2 years on an awful, tanking Rockets team, so I'll allow Cade the same grace but number 1 overall isn't it.

Rockets fans are straight up calling Jalen Green a bust at this point. He's been awful and the 3rd year leap everyone thought he would have hasn't materialised. He's improved in some areas like defence and playmaking but he's now having big trouble just scoring at anything resembling a consistent rate, which was the one thing he was said to be elite in. He can still go off on any given night but those nights are becoming less common. A lot of fans have officially tapped out on him.

Cavs aren't as down on Mobley as Rockets fans are on Green but a lot of them say he hasn't really progressed since his rookie year and they no longer think his ceiling is that high. I was more impressed with him in his rookie season than I am now. He still goes top 5 but definitely not top 3.

Barnes is by some distance the biggest hit in the top 6. In a redraft he'd go number 1 or 2. Brilliant pick.

Suggs was almost immediately struggling and early on he looked like the worst of the bunch by some distance but he's turned it around somewhat and he kinda plays like a seasoned vet these days supporting the younger guys on that Magic team. Not sure if he'd still be top 5 but he's a decent player to have on your team.

Giddey is borderline unplayable this season. I don't know a single Thunder fan who hasn't officially tapped out on Giddey. He is consistently their worst player and they all want him out traded.

In a redraft the top 3 would be

1 or 2: Sengun
1 or 2: Barnes
3: Wagner

I felt the need to check the entire 2021 first round and it's rough. So many players that shouldn't even be in good teams 9-men rotations.

On the other hand, 2020 draft which was way less hyped looks better with each passing day (some great value at lower picks). Edwards, Haliburton, Maxey, LaMelo, Bane...

This play makes me believe that maybe NBA refs are beginning to not call soft fouls on KAT. Which would be great.

The problem I have with not calling offensive foul on that play is if Towns was driving towards the basket and Butler made the same level of contact that Towns did on that play, it would definitely be a defensive foul. Defenders are barely even allowed to breathe on the ball handler but the ball handler is allowed to generate so much contact with force to create separation.

Buttler flopped but I don't have an issue with it being called an offensive foul. Where I have an issue is that KAT has consistently had bad whistles in his career with bogus offensive fouls and most importantly defenders getting away with murder. Seeing a questionable whistle going in his favor is a rare and good development for me.

Yeah fair enough, I get what you're saying. Inconsistent calls are ruining games. A lot of games have become borderline unwatchable. I legit hate playing against teams that have superstars on them. The whistle is almost always completely lobsided in the their team's favour.

Really weird ending to 4Q in this amazing Warriors Celtics game. Dubs got the rebound with time on the clock and multiple players signal timeout and refs just ignore it and time expires. I went back and looked to see if we had used all our timeouts (which would have been a technical so would have been just as wrong for them to ignore ) but we hadn’t. Nor had we used 4 in the 4Q (if you try and use a fifth in this instance is it also a technical?) so I have no idea. Refs wanted OT I guess
