NBA 2022-2023

Davis is the most important player for LA. When he's locked on, he's the difference between them being awful and being contenders.

Healthy AD + Lebron and the Lakers can give any team a series, especially if Russell can up his game like today.

I know its Lakers but love to see gum flapping fakers that have feck all behind them to back it up, get stomped, talk about dynasty, fine with the West etc. bunch of thug wanna be clowns. On top muppets around NBA sees Ja and co, future faces of the league.

Did not expect the Kings to win tonight.

Don't think they would have enough to beat the Lakers though even if they make it through, Davis would eat up Sabonis.

Yeah, I'm talking about Booker. He has only made one all NBA team in his career (21-22), and maybe a second one this year? That is why I said almost superstar, he is on the cusp, but for me "Superstar" means top 10-15 in the league. He's close, and maybe he's in it, but maybe not. Hence "almost".
The only reason he’s not considered a superstar is because people still clown him for that double team nonsense in a pickup game and because he plays for the Suns.

He already did more in the playoffs than Tatum/Mitchell/Ja/Luka but most voters will still have them over him when in reality his impact for the Suns is closer to top 5 in the league when people thinks he’s not even top 15.

The improvement over his game is seriously understated. He came in to the league with comparisons to the likes of Redick/Korver, great shooting mechanics with short wingspan and questionable athleticism for the NBA can’t play defense and awkward ball handler. His ceiling was supposed to be Klay but he’s absolutely shattered those comparisons with how much he has improved over each summer.

He did more than Tatum???? Uh??? And yeah, he did more than Luka, though he's done it on a much better team and they went head to head last season and it was clear one was a level above the other, and it wasn't Booker...

Imagine being fine in the West but get bounced out the first round

That Grizzlies team really made of entitled prats all over. So glad they got out like that.
Now hoping for King finish off GSW, that would be sweet.

The Grizzlies have interesting questions to ask themselves. It's clear that they are not currently built for the postseason and will have to make some changes. They could be a good trade partner for someone because they have interesting pieces. The same applies to the Cavaliers.

What a win for Kings, did not expect them to force game 7 at all and did not even bother to tune up to the game last night. This was supposed to be a very straightforward victory for Warriors.

Game 7 is a Sunday morning game so perfectly watchable in Europe too, superb. Hope Kings can close it at home (then and Knicks are my favorite teams left in each conference), going to be a cracking game regardless.

I don’t consider him a superstar and:
1. I have no idea what this means
2. I quite like the Suns

Tatum? This is a ridiculous statement and make me question if you actually watch the NBA. Top 5? Who does he replace from: Giannis/Curry/Embiid/Doncic/Jokic/Durrant/Morant/Tatum/Lillard/Butler? He might be top 15, but he’s closer to 15 than 5.

The fact that you have Ja in your list says it all

Giannis/Curry/Embiid/Jokic/KD are the only players I would trade Booker for. The rest are all on his level or in Ja’s case a level below.

See, now you are moving the goal posts. This did not start as a discussion of trade value, it was about ranking the top players in the league now. Would the Suns trade Booker for LeBron (who along with AD I left off my list because I am memory holing the Lakers apparently)? Absolutely not, but you can't honestly say they wouldn't at least consider a swap for just this season, right? They almost certainly stick with Booker, but it would not be automatic.

Anyways, this is all a bit silly as I think DB is a top 15 player so I don't know why we are even arguing. My point was that at this time, not the future, he is not in the top 5, but he probably will be close in the next few seasons at the rate he is improving.

Also, your comment on Tatum is a bit weird considering he has played more playoff games, has also been to the finals once, and has 10 more WS than Booker despite playing 100 fewer games. I doubt many people in this thread would trade Tatum for Booker.

Fair enough re: Ja. Personally, I value what he brings as a PG in addition to his scoring, but I can see why someone would rank DB over him.

Old you knew better
I did not quite expect it to happen in this order. Tomorrow is 50/50 IMO. Warriors have the experience, Kings have the home court and despite early tip off I expect G1C to be absolutely buzzing. It already was in the previous three games but I expect tomorrow to be on another level.

Ok let’s have a laugh with the worst starting 5 according to the monies they earn: Simmons, George, Hayward, Porzingis, Town. Would these posers and fakers beat the….. Lakers? :wenger:

I'll go Wall, Kemba Walker, Joe Harris, Love, Porzingis

Porzingis is doing well at Washington though.

I’m not shifting goalposts. My point is his impact is close to those 5 players I listed and they’re the top 5 players in the league atm.

We were second in the West earlier this season even with CP3 playing like ass until Book got injured and our record with him out was basically lottery team level.

And no, the Suns wouldn’t even entertain LeBron for Booker, he’s the reason CP3 and KD even wanted to join the team in the first place.

If you mean worst contracts in the NBA, Porzingis and Towns wouldn’t be in it.

Simmons
Beal
Hayward
Kawhi
Zion (since he’s already signed his extension)

These 5 players have the worst contracts considering their health records. Kawhi is the healthiest with 52 games played in the regular season.

Zion gets the prize though, he has played in 114 regular season games in 4 seasons and still got his max extension and his own signature shoe

Right, let’s save the Porz then and instal the Zion, a proper case of biiiig stud turned the outmost dud. :D

Lakers have depth and birth D-Lo and Rui have managed to step in and fill LeBron's space during his breathers. Hamm is managing up make this group hard to play against. Morant and co really need to take a hard look.

Jokic soon gonna have FG% under 10, best part he is probably 2/10 in 2 possessions trying to tip in 6 times, guess farming those offensive rebounds.

Phoenix have probably the best starting five but no bench, they will tire a lot to stay afloat!?

Anyway, two fantastic games in the matinee today, I can’t really make a bet in advance. I am going with NY & GS.

As for Embiid’s knee, I am afraid he won’t play a single minute in this series and even a rushed-up cameo would only worsen his prognosis for the coming months, if the reports about his injury are correct.

Easy win for Denver. This is a championship winning version of Murray. With this Murray Denver can and will beat anyone, especially with home court advantage. Jokic so far has been meh in playoffs shooting wise, but seems so far more is not required.

Jokic has to pick a poison regarding his wrist injury, he either tape it and limit his hand freedom but protect it while his FG drops or untape it, % goes higher but no protection, they smack his hands as it happens to any other player and risk to injury that wrist even more.

No wonder his 3 points % is high, while everything that requires soft touch around rim, hooks etc looks off, he had air balls while being few feet away from the basket.

Sometimes i think he trades his injuries for flopping to farm FTs, holy shit, the amount of that crap i saw vs Nets, have a theory that he is increasing injury chance by doing his routine of some type of sliding falls.

Butler did not look right after he rolled his ankle against Knicks, though NY did not manage to capitalize on that and were actually worse in the closing minutes of that game than they had been prior to his injury. I wonder whether he will be healthy to play in the next couple of games though.

Embiid missing first two against Celtics probably kills that series.

Not the best start by the Kings, hope they can recover.

How is it that old man LeBron never misses a single playoff game.... yet everyone else does. Dudes conditioning in an era of everyones elses being a bit shoddy is insane.

It never ceases to amaze me how effortless Steph makes those contested step back 3s look.

Sabonis is here to play tonight.

Klay on the other hand. Yikes.
