NBA 2022-2023

Simmons "hates " every team not named Celtics/Pats/Bruins/Red Sox.

but he really hates the Lakers

The Lakers deserve it. But the Wolves, they are historically shit there is no need to add to it.

I love the Wolves for no other reason than:

I'm boycotting him. Wolves hater.
Isn't everybody? ;)

EDIT: Actually, that's not fair. You gave us Steph by picking Rubio and Flynn, let us keep Klay by not agreeing to the Kevin Love trade and then threw in Wiggins and Kuminga for good measure.

Plus, Simmons loves the Wolves. You gave the Celtics KG and then they spun him and Pierce into the most lopsided trade in history (until all the recent madness). He even expressed a desire to be the Wolves GM to help you out.

It would be very weird for people to hate on the Wolves outside of Wolves fans themselves, you have to be next level weird.

In all honesty, after the Dubs they'll be the most watchable team for me this year. I really like Ant and am very interested to see how the Gobert-Towns pairing works out.

Lots of young exciting teams. I am especially excited to watch the Lakers this year with Ball/Ingram/Hart/Randle/the picks from the last few ye.....err..... I'll be over in the corner drinking.

They should be one of the teams to watch, they are deep and talented. I also think that the Hawks and Cavs have been a bit ignored. At the end of the day, NBA media is extremely biased in favor of big markets even the ones that pretend to be geared toward an audience that is interested in more in depth takes. That's where I have an issue with the likes of Simmons and Hollinger, I find them disappointing. Someone like O'connor of the Ringer seems to be less biased.

Is "Ball/Ingram/Hart/Randle" a euphemism for Westbrook? :D

Davis. Westbrook cost Kuzma and a draft pick (and other contracts). I fecking hate this Laker team and will watch exactly zero minutes of them this year.

The Lakers will also be one of the teams I'll probably go out of my way to watch. I've never been a huge Russ fan even when he was supposed to be good. I've always thought he was massively overrated and a stat padder bar none (except maybe LeBron). On the other side of the coin though, for me he's always been one of the most watchable players in the league. Trouble is its always been for all the wrong reasons. It's almost like rubbernecking watching a train wreck. You know you shouldn't, but you just can't help yourself. Russ is that train wreck.

I just listened to Draymond's latest press conference. Any good will he built up with the sincerity of his original apology just disappeared. "What is trust?" he asks when it's pointed out he has lost the trust of his team mates. "I don't understand" he continues. "Do you mean will they trust me to make the right play?"

It means that your team mates can trust you not to slug one of them. WTF do you think it means?

I said when this happened it might be time for Draymond to leave, but after what seemed a really sincere apology I wavered. As much as it might hurt the team this year, for the long term good, I'm really starting to think he really does need to go.

He really does hate OKC because of the Seattle situation.
Honestly, I think he “hates” them more for breaking up the KD/Westbrook/Harden/Ibaka team. For all his faults, he loves stories and that team could have become a juggernaut.

Yeah we can probably forget about the Wemby sweepstakes. Jalen Green, with Jabari, Eason, Sengun and an improved KPJ, the Rockets will be way better than the other tanking teams.

I know it’s just preseason but Green has taken off where he left it last season. Eason is going to be the biggest steal of the draft. Fun season incoming.

I am offended by Rodman winning a Razzie. That is one of my favorite horrible movies. It so terribly awful that it is fantastic.

Poole has a free one in his pocket. He can lay out Draymond from behind in practice one day, what can the Warriors do? Have him sit out a game? Draymond can eat humble pie and give Jordan a big hug a few days later, I'm sure he's man enough to do that...right?

It was a joint effort. He shared it (worst screen combo) with Van Damme.

3) Milwaukee Bucks

Another good one would be who drafted Pippen?

I like these kinds of trivia. The Mavs drafted Traylor of Michigan fame and delt him to the Bucks for Dirk and Garrity, and then immediately delt Garrity to Phoenix for some back up PG named Nash. Most thought the Bucks got the best of this lot. I remember being somewhat hyped on what Dirk may develop to but didn't know much about Nash. I vaguely recall some in the DFW area wanted Pierce.

Can you name the school Pippen came from?

My sister got her graduate degree there, I sat in the field house with his jersey in the rafters.

Central Arkansas. I think this was the first NBA draft I ever watched.

Took a bet at work yesterday with a drink of free choice for the winner in each category.
My choices :
Winner : Dallas
Final opp : 76ers
MVP : Luka

Do i have any chance? The other guys took 76ers and Brooklyn and winners, Embiid and Durant as MVP and Warriors and Dallas as opps.

Dallas - probably not
Sixers - definite maybe, although I'd have the Bucks and Celtics ahead of them in the East as far as getting to the finals is concerned.
Luka - he's the bookies favorite, but personally (after losing Brunson) I don't think they'll win enough games. This one's probably your best shot though.

Jordan Poole finalizing 4 year 140 million extenson. Now he can afford to pay someone to knock Draymond on his ass. :D

Thanks, it was a ”more hearts than brains” bet from all of us, so i am more than happy to get one right only

His eye/face does look perfectly fine, so it must not have been too strong of a shot.

Golden State's ability to draft good players is ridiculous.

You're definitely in a very small minority of people with that info stuffed away in their memory!
I can even tell you who originally drafted him as well and also what position he was taken in said draft. Don't remember too much beyond that though. Only know it because Pippin became a star.

It could all have been a set up between him and Draymond to get him more money. Get Draymond to pretend to belt you one, be the good soldier by moving on and obligate the Dubs into giving you the extra 10 - 15 million. :D

Aaaaaaaand soon it will start for real, end of fun then. :wenger:

(I am truly expecting Adam Silver showing up with a blonde wig for the opening night)

Gonna need to start scoring 25+ to justify the cost. Is this the going rate for decent starters these days? Maybe he balls out into a star player going forward.
I'm more interested in Jordan improving his defense. The Dubs have plenty of scorers, but if he's going to get high volume minutes (especially in the playoffs) he's going to need to get better on that end of the floor.

Very happy the Dubs have done this though, but I do think it means the end of the road for Draymond. Poole's future salary (probably around 28 - 30 million in that first year) would offset Draymond's current salary and the Dubs would then try and renegotiate with Wiggs.

Wiggins is done too now at approximately $27m a year for 4 years, a bit of a drop from what he was earning before but a more accurate reflection of his role. What does that mean for Draymond?

123m guaranteed so not too bad compared to Herro.

Wiggins taking a team friendly extension is good.

Draymond is gone either this season or after he takes the 27m player option.
