NBA 2021-2022

Iffy call on draymond there. Makes it a three point game with 50 seconds to go. Draymond cuts it to 1. Ja back to three

Klay has had a surprising stinker. Everyone else has been fine for the Warriors.

Morant doing it all by himself

Klay with possibly the worst game of his career. Whoever wins this series will almost certainly lose to the Suns

Disappointing result. Hope GP2 is OK. Definitely missed his defense.

I disagree with this take as a Suns fan. Sure, the Warriors missed a couple of shots but I remain unconvinced that the Grizz will take 4 of 7 against GSW. I dislike their late game execution and were fortunate that Ja made shots today he missed last game. They also profited from an abnormally poor shooting performance by GSW. Had they lost the series would basically have been over. Plus, we will see how game 2 goes tomorrow between Suns and Mavs, after all the Suns lost game 2 in the last series to a young Pels team. Lots of games still to be played.

Suns in 6 out the West.

I stand by my prediction that the Warriors take this series in 6 games. Still nice for us to split going to Oakland

Hope GP2 is ok. Stupid from Brooks. Come on Dray, give us another F2 in G3

Broken elbow for GP2. That was a really really awful foul by Dillon brooks, can’t remember the last time I saw a hit like that in nba

If GP2 is out for the series, Brooks should be suspended for the series.

Very dangerous and reckless. Worthy of a suspension but I guess we'll see whether that actually happens.

Definitely reckless from Brooks but the GS have had their fair share of dubious plays over the years too.

It looks bad because Dillon Brooks lacks any athleticism and couldn't lift off the ground while running full speed to block the shot, but I honestly don't think it was malicious. I've seen worse fouls on similar plays when the opposing player gets no reprimand. Here's one example: (1) Joe Johnson's unfortunate dunk - YouTube and a story with the relevant details: Suns notebook: Suns don’t hold grudge against Stackhouse | Sports | eastvalleytribune.com . The league even rescinded the flagrant given to Jerry Stackhouse   and it was way worse than what Brooks did to GP2. This injury cost the Suns a chance at a title too.

Injury free, no one is gonna stop my Suns from making it back to the finals. Dallas have no match for Ayton and our wings can suffocate all their players aside from Luka. The Warriors look strong but other than Draymond, they wont be able to contain us defensively, and they may also be too small for us. And Memphis can be the greatest challenge for us but they're prone to making some dumb plays and letting the opposition go on long runs, and unlike the Timberwolves, we're historically great in clutch time and closing games out.

Gutted for GP2.

This injury will take a while to recover and it's going to cost him when he hits free agency this summer. He's on a vet's minimum and was looking great on the Warriors and looked pretty clear cut he was on for a big pay day.

Just catching up last nights games. Ja Morant man. What a freak of an athlete. I will never, ever get tired of watching him do those stupidly smooth mid-air body twisting layups.

Brooks’ “foul” is more akin to assault than a mistimed flagrant, and GPII might even sue him accordingly. That said, Draymond is widely known as an entitled id**t, often surfing on the thin ice separating gamesmanship from cheap shots and instigating tit for tat retaliation, only for others actually going down.

The injury to GP2 is probably going to cost the Dubs any real shot at a title. Draymond is the Warriors best overall defender but GP2 is their best perimeter defender. Wiggs is pretty good, but both Klay and Iggy (if he can ever get on the court) have definitely lost a step. Steph, while much improved on the defensive end, is not exactly lockdown, and Jordan Poole is not much more than adequate. I still think the Dubs should have enough to win this series but I can't see them going much further after this round.

0 chance that happens.

That's a bad foul. He's always teetering on the edge. I rarely see a Memphis game where he isn't in foul trouble. I don't think he's a dirty player, but you can't not classify that as a dirty play. Should be suspended for at least a game.

Magical performance by CP3 and Book in the 4th, obviously can't rely on getting 65% FG % every game but nice to see it once in a while.

Dallas look completely out-matched in this series. The relentless attacking of Luka won't change and they just wear him down over time. Kidd has to make some serious adjustments.

We have no business in this series, completely outclassed.
Looking at what the Suns did after drafting Ayton makes me sad.

You can't compare the two situations, the Suns already had Book before drafting Ayton. Arguably, having Book already likely tipped the scales for the Suns to draft Ayton over Luka, despite the latter being a ready-made star (the Suns were coached at the time by Igor Kokoskov, Luka's head coach for Slovenia, am still surprised the Suns didn't take him to this day). Plus, don't forget the Suns had 2 top 10 picks in 2018. The other pick? Mikal Bridges. The 2018 draft will go down as one of the great drafts in NBA history. With Luka being so good so early, it became harder for the Mavs to build the team.

With that said, let's see how game 3 goes in Dallas. As they say, a playoff series doesn't start until both teams have played a home game.

EDIT: Forgot that Suns traded for Mikal after he had been drafted. Will never understand how the 76ers decided not to keep a Villanova player. Utter madness. A 2x national championship winner at that too.

Ayton's from University of Arizona, there's no way Sarver wasn't picking him number 1.

We lucked out that Ayton was willing to be a team player and improve his game to help the team. He could have bitched about it and insisted on more shots to the detriment of the team.

Mikal, thank God for the Sixers. His mom literally works with the Sixers organization and they still traded him because they rated Zahaire Smith around the same level as Mikal and we gave them a pick for it as well. One of the best trade in Suns history.

Not much he can do, Suns just have more quality.

Dallas needs to change how they attack, simple as. Less Luka pounding the air out of the ball, more ball movement. With the way the suns are going at him on defence, they can't ask him to be their entire offence for the whole game

And more ball movement and involvement by the others might also lead to better contributions - i mean Luka had 45 in game 1 and a fairly efficient 35 in game 2 and the Mavs never came close to winning either game

Didnt watch either of two games as they are at insane hours but it could easily be they decided to stop other guys and let Luka go at them. Let him score 30+ on you but dont let others help out, it works when others lack the quality to hurt them individually. Clippers did the same last year.

On the other hand the Mavs traded away two great role players in Barnes and Seth Curry for a big fat bag of hot air. There is literally nothing left on the roster from those trades.

That's exactly what they do. Make Luka work for his points, which he will get even against Bridges and co, then make him work on defense on top of that.
They have the length to completely shut down Brunson, who's more of a scorer than a playmaker, and Dinwiddie has been a no-show in the playoffs. Nobody else on this Mavs roster can be trusted with initiating any kind of offense.
What really, really hurts us, though, is the complete lack of rim protection and rebounding. Luka is genuinely our best rebounder. That's just not good enough to put up a fight against real contenders. Powell is still being our starting center after all these years is comical mismanagement.

All that aside, this Suns team is nuts. They have shot 50% or better for 7 straight games and are on pace to have the 2nd best FG% in playoff history after the Showtime Lakers.

They're doing a great job on Luka and really making him work for his points, but also Luka is doing exactly what they want right now, just going it solo like that. And they're going at him constantly on defence, which is highlighting how bad of a defender he is in the process, and in this game really took a lot out of him in terms of energy

The key is that they are not only making him work but forcing him to score almost every time. They are insanely good at shutting down passing angles and attacking lanes, the whole team is in lockstep. It's "Luka vs. Clippers" all over again, only that this Suns team is even better and deeper 1-10 than the Clippers.

Yes, that's what i mean by doing a great job on him. And it's why i say the mavs need to change it up
