NBA 2021-2022

Maybe the Sixers will luck out and get rid of Doc after they get out of the playoffs. They're never going to win with him as head coach.

One of the most overrated coach in the league.

Did you even *try* to Ubuntu?

Agree. Vogel (and potentially Snyder) would be interesting options.

Why Embiid was even out there at that period of the game, its not like it was 3 points lead or something

Feel for the guy, getting injured like that, i see Raptor fans using word karma a lot after that plane celebration or w/e

I've really grown to hate Embiid in this post season. From calling himself the MVP and saying there is a conspiracy against Philly, which is why he isn't getting it. Then the consistent whining at foul calls despite getting so many in any chance, being disrespectful to Nick Nurse, calling out his teammates and coach and now goading the Toronto fans.

Classless, especially considering how humble both Giannis and Jokic are.

EDIT: Actually there is history behind the Embiid airplane celebration and Toronto, he did the celebration in a match and then the Toronto fans did the same later on. Wouldn't blame Embiid for that I guess.

Grizzlies come through yet another double digit deficit in the 4th. Watched the game this morning. Man I have really grown to love Bane, Clarke and Dillon Brooks. So reliable, so clutch and an abundance of fighting spirit.

This team matches up well with Golden State. I think they'll get bounced in the second round but it'll be a really tough series for the Warriors. Either way, I can't wait.

Gobert is getting the blame for stuff that really isn't his fault. The Mavs take a lot of 3s. It was Utah's perimeter defense that was supposed to stop that. Anybody that drove to the basket was then Goberts'. Trouble is Utah's perimeter defense is crap and Dallas wasn't taking it to the rim most of the time because of that. Therefore, Gobert was either left stood under the basket with his thumb up his arse or trying to get out on the perimeter to defend smaller, faster, more agile players who were then making him look foolish. If you put him on a team with good 3 and D players, he would shine. I'd take him on the Dubs in a heartbeat.
Gobert isn't evem that bad a perimeter defender, look at his defence on Luka at the end of game 6...
European basketball is so wild.Barcelona the best team have just scored 32 points in 3 quarters in a playoff game, they have made 7 field goals in 3 quarters
Yeah it's almost a different sport. They play like the NBA in the 90s
He's terrible against players who have great midrange games like Durant, CP3 etc. as he always has to play drop coverage. Also doesn't have the speed to get to the corner 3 from the paint.
That's not actually true, he's not even that bad on the perimeter. Of course he struggles against guys like KD or CP3, who doesn't? Gobert was arguably the jazz best perimeter defender. That was their issue. He's also a great rebounder, and he erases the paint. Plus, Mitchell hates him and doesn't want to pass him the ball. Yeah he can't really create his own shot and punish mismatches at the other end, but he's a great roll man and vertical threat. This Jazz team was just badly constructed for the playoffs
Ya but you have to defend 5 players. If all 5 players can shoot the 3 like the Mavs showed yesterday then someone like Gobert is in big trouble. Who's going to defend Gobert's man if Gobert stays in the paint?
A team with good perimeter defenders can hide him on the worst attacker, and if the other team tries to hunt him on switches, they can hedge and recover to avoid it. At the end of the day yes, he has flaws and yes, there is a need to surround him with players and schemes that can hide his limitations, but i don't think either is that difficult to do and having a guy like that who just erases the paint is huge
And season over!
Feck! Joel :(

They'll get bounced because they're young doofuses. Very talented young doofuses, but still young doofuses. They only beat the wolves because the wolves are even bigger youn doofuses than they are

Both look like scary teams going forward though

I think the Grizzlies are younger than the Timberwolves actually.

Gutted to see Embiid get an injury, absolutely wild having so many potential winners. How utterly refreshing.

Shit refereeing so far. Feels like the refs are giving everything to Bucks.

Meh it depends on what you want to see. 14 fouls to 16 and both teams have shot 10 free throws despite one team having Giannis

Nah it's been decent reffing. Just not calling ticky tacky fouls. Boston shooting poorly. 2 stupid fouls by Giannis could change the game.

Feel like there was a wrong call on Smart, followed by Giannis blocking Tatum while the ball was going down in the space of 2 minutes.

And then Giannis blatantly traveled while pivoting around before the foul call against the Cetlics.

Boston can't shoot, too many turnovers, and Giannis with the self pass off the backboard and flush.

Bucks are the defending champs and Boston have been flattened today.

Giannis is taking the piss. Bucks look a class above Boston here.

I know Tatum has been compared to Kobe and he's been talked up recently, but this has been a shock to his system. Not impressed by him today and Giannis has brought him back to earth.

Noob to this basketball stuff….does the travelling rule change when you’re near the basket?
No. He just moved his pivot foot around before rising for his jump shot.

He's looked checked out since making those two 3s in the 3rd quarter.

Giannis with a cool triple double in Game 1. Didn't shoot the best, but he again set the tone on both ends and his teammates followed. Boston were overwhelmed today, they look complete different as the 2 seed.

Yeah. And lots of frustration fouls and not getting some calls. He didn't attack the rim and just settled. Yes it is physical inside against the Bucks, but your shots aren't falling and you need to attack. But no.

Dominant performance by Bucks in a very ugly defensive match. Celtics need to adjust if they want anything from this series.

Been looking forwards to this Dubs Grizz game all day. Let's go.
