NBA 2021-2022

Good game in Boston 61-61 at the break not much getting wasted by either team.

As expected Nets with absolutely zero defence whatsoever on their way to concede 120+ points, and that is with Claxton being quite good tonight. I still expect it to become a game in the fourth as you can never count KD out and he has been better in the second half so far. If Celtics can get Williams back for this series they should be OK though.

Well Kyrie can get hot too. Good game this.

Two good teams swinging at each other. Good game this. Kyrie kept the Nets in the game. Now KD is heating up.

Nets have been amazing in the fourth and have actually played very good defense now. Awesome game.

Nets have the best player in the series, and at least the 4th best player in the series. This was always going to a brutal dogfight

Level of play from both is incredible

Celtics are missing some very easy layups. They've gone completely cold in the 4th.

KD ISO’s are killing the nets especially considering how hot Kyrie has been. Nets defence is so leaky as well and if Celtics move the ball even a little bit they get good shots or layups . Celtics have left 8-10 points out there with ridiculous misses

It's an incredible game tbf. Doesn't feel like first game of the playoffs. Feels like the finals. Hahaha

Kyrie the asshole, had to be him, Celtics don’t deserve to lose here..

Incredible from Smart and Tatum there.

Absolutely braindead last possession on offence by the nets. Got the ball up 1 with 38 seconds left and ended up jacking a contested 3 with 1 left on the shot clock

Was incredible defense by Horford - he played out of his mind today. Also struggling to think of someone else defending Durant 1v1 as effectively as Tatum did today? Haven't seen anyone able to block a KD fallaway the way Tatum did in the 3rd quarter.

And someone that shouldn't be named,@charlton66, put Trae Young in his All Star teams. :nono:

It's always a bad idea to draw too many conclusions after game 1 of a 7-game series. There are so many examples of a series ending in an entirely different place to where it begins. After all, the road team only needs to win one of the first 2 to put the other team in a tricky situation.

Anyone know of anywhere to reliably watch games after the fact? Cut down (so it doesn't take 3 hours), if those exist. A few years ago there was a site which I think used YouTube, which seems insane, but it managed to stay up for the play-offs at least.

What a bizarre game this is, defences have been good but the two offences have been absolutely horrendous

Bucks took a strong Bulls shot for game 1. But their defense stepped up again and held LaVine and Demar to 18 each. Scrappy, low scoring game.

Chicago had 12 more attempts, more offensive rebounds, and 10 less turnovers...yet still loss.

Hawks don't match up well against Miami's depth to begin with and this is without Capela and Collins coming in after a long layoff.

Hawks only need one game on the road to take away home court advantage like you mentioned, but this is a bad match up. Miami have perimeter defenders with size and length who can shoot. Atlanta is undersized with Trae to begin with and undermanned without Capela.

Miami played like they do, so let's see what adjustments Hawks make now that they've gone through a game.

But this Trae BS has to stop. He's a top player and guard in the league as an undersized guard.

Ya it's possible the Bulls get swept, not sure their defense can hold up the entire series. DeRozan defaulting back to prior playoff form also has to be worrying.

He overperformed this past season and it wasn't the norm. Almost how the Jazz go from super regular season team to average team in the playoffs.

So judging by these first games it appears we will have…

Series that are unlikely to be competitive: Bucks v Bulls, Heat v Hawks, Suns v Pelicans

Series that could become competitive under right circumstances but look lopsided now: Jazz v Mavs, Warriors v Nuggets, Sixers v Raptors

Competitive series: Wolves v Grizzlies, Celtics v Nets

Obviously Mavs v Jazz will become competitive if Luka returns, and I still reckon Raptors will give Sixers a ride despite game 1 loss. Nuggets v Warriors looks like it will go one direction only but let’s wait and see.

It's a good thing that this hot take was already shared before that game then.

Bit weird to have a rookie of the year and all-star this year, current star of a playoff team as a MIP candidate. Ja Morant has no business being up for this.

Jordan Poole however ...
