NBA 2021-2022

What I think will happen is, Blazers trade their pick for Grant, don't pick up Hart's option so they open up cap space to go for another star to play alongside Dame.

Offer the max for Miles Bridge only for Charlotte to match and Blazers panic and end up signing someone like TJ Warren on a one year deal.

That young Lakers team was so good until LeBron traded them all away

That sounds like a plausible scenario. That they will trade their pick for Grant I’m almost certain, even though it will be a massive overpay as he’s maybe worth a non-lottery first and will want to sign on for $30m a season.

They will not have any cap space anyway as they will extend Nurkic and Simons. Nurkic will be at least $12m a year, Simons probably around $20m.

Trae has a bigger argument over Luka.

Both don't play defense but Trae turned up for the whole season unlike Luka who spent the first month of the season getting into shape.

Doncic is 6th in the league in defensive win shares. Obviously this is not down to him being a spectacular individual defender but the Mavericks have been orders of magnitude better than the Hawks defensively. And they finished with a significantly better record. There's no credible argument for Trae over Luka unless you're focused solely on offense - if you include defense and team success Doncic is miles ahead.

Jazz would have no chance against Mavs if Luka was healthy. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem likely he will be back for Game 2 so most likely they will be 2-0 down going to Utah.

Timberwolves v Grizzlies will be way closer than your usual 2nd seed versus 7th seed.

Morant and Edwards have decided to takeover the NBA.

Edwards is so so special. Feel like it's only a matter of 'when' he becomes a top 5 player in the league. He's incredible.

Morant might just be my favourite player in the league to watch.

Instead of going back and forth about who deserves what, let's see your picks for all NBA. Just cause my picks are the right ones, doesn't mean you guys can't have a go :D  ;)

Can't be arsed to post predictions for every series, but I have the Bucks beating the Warriors in the finals.

James is playing really well, except his finishing at the rim is diabolical lolz. Just please stop. Transition into your Chris Paul era asap.

Complete package. Also was defensively very good in the last quarter when he neutralized Morant.

Not sure Steph's fit. He's certainly rusty. Hope the 3 at the end of the half gets him going. All in all though, decent start.

Good win. Jordan Poole was excellent and Steph seemed to ease himself into the game second half. Good all round team performance to be honest. First of 16, I hope.

That was class. Knowing this team they will drop a couple of games in a silly way but should be winning this series for sure

Good win/game for GSW, 2nd chances on those missed shots did wonders, Denver are to heavy to be carried, Cousins getting kicked out is such a ez prediction, Jokic had not a best game but thats not surprising looking around, also there were some non call situations, nothing new. If Denver win one, they should be happy.

Kinda think Phoenix and GSW will cruise to the WCF finals. But maybe I'm just being too easily swayed by the early match-ups/results.

I was hoping Denver could get Murray and/or Porter back before the playoffs which would make it a different series but they weren’t able to give them any time at all in the regular season, and seemingly neither is ready to play (though there were indications Murray was getting very close). Given the roster they have outside of Jokic it’s a miracle they were able to win 48 games.

Fully healthy Nuggets should be a contender next season if both of them can get into their best form.

Celtics v Nets should be great tonight.

I love that fact. They also all play in a way that benefits their teams.

They kept talking about it in commentary but I find the idea that they will let their max player play in the playoffs directly after an ACL surgery rehab absolutely crazy

Literally no holes in his game. The one question mark coming out of college was his shot, but it's pretty clear already that he's got it. Playmaking and assisting is probably the one area he still needs to improve but that's basically every non-Doncic rookie/young player ever. Can create his own shot, elite athleticism, huge potential as a defender, 3-point range. What is not to love?

Why so many people seem to think that the Grizzlies play at a higher pace than the Wolves? It's as if people including analysts can't even look at readily available stats.

Main issue with him coming out of college was whether he would have enough commitment and drive to improve to become a top level NBA player, as he apparently was never that thrilled about basketball (he’s even on record saying he’s still not really that into it). He has shown that he’s an absolute professional, and his talent and athleticism are enough to elevate him to a very high level.

Warriors were pretty screwed in that draft. Two of the top three picks appear as if they will be amazing for a long time and the one they picked seems far from that level.

According to Woj, the doctors have actually cleared Murray to play and he has been scrimmaging with the team for the last 2 weeks. However, the Nuggets have decided to leave it to Murray himself when to come back and as things stand he doesn't appear to think he's ready.

Based on what one of the Wolves beat reporter(Dane Moore) was saying. He is almost always wumming and unlike most draftees he didn't try to present himself as someone else, part of media failed to understand that. The question marks were also in contradiction with what Tom Crean was saying at the time.
“(Edwards) did have a lot to learn and a lot to be more responsible for as a basketball player,” Crean said. “He worked really hard at that and he is one of the greatest teammates I have ever been around. In 20 years as a head coach and an assistant coach before that, he is one of the absolutely-most infectious personalities with his teammates. He wanted his teammates to be successful.”

“He is going to have to develop because he is 18 years of age,” Crean said. “But at the same time, physically and all those different things, he is going to be ready to play in the NBA. He will just have a lot that he has to get better at as he goes through it. If he does, he is going to be a very young All-Star and very young All-Defensive team guy.”

And he is still not media trained and probably never will:

Miami are very solid across many different positions on the floor.

I thought there would be a hangover after a hard fought emotional game just a few days ago, but not to this extent.

Spo has his team defense dialed in no matter who he throws out on the court.

This is Lowry's show to run and with his leadership and agenda setting from the 1, Heat are dangerous.

Trae and Bogi are 1 for 19. Hawks shooting only 33% overall from the floor. They are suffering a lot more than expected without Capela.

Trae is the Bruno Fernandes of the NBA, statistically brilliant but has a lot of games here he just gets completely cold and will still go for shots.

And someone that shouldn't be named,@charlton66, put Trae Young in his All NBA teams. :nono:

Trae has just followed his best ever game with his worst ever game.
