NBA 2021-2022

@Sarni At least you're getting Ingles, who's one of the most wholesome dudes in the league...
No idea how it feels to have almost your team slip away within 2 days, I don't know how you can stand it.
I actually love Ingles but he won’t play a minute here and probably won’t even be back in the league.

I don’t mind tearing the team down, I think if you do it the right way it can quickly become more exciting and definitely more interesting than what you had before - see Grizzlies, or even Pelicans for that matter (despite lack of success). Even Thunder are in position where they have something to look forward to.

What I don’t accept is the return they got for the players traded so far, and also the supposed willingness to still build around Lillard even in this position - which I truly fear will lead to even more bad trades when those picks materialize.

Look at what Thunder got for their players when they did the sale back in 2019. We should have easily got a protected first for Powell, similar deal to what Indiana got for LeVert who is basically same level of player (of course in a hindsight we should have just kept Trent but that is going too far back into the past). We should have easily got a solid second rounder for Covington, and at least a solid second round pick if not late first for Nance. And CJ should have got us a decent first round pick + young talent. That’s not even asking that much, just get fair value for these players and then trade Lillard for a haul. What this FO has done sets us back 1-2 years at least.

That deal with Pelicans got even worse  If it doesn’t convey this year (it has to be 5-14, so if they make it through he play-in it’s gone!), Portland will not get their pick next year. They will get top 4 protected Bucks pick in 2025. That is Bucks that will still have Giannis then.

This Lakers team is an absolute mess. Very much enjoying the struggles of the Lakers and Nets this season.

And yet you have stories coming about from the likes of Shaq saying that they want to face the Suns in the 1st round so it must be all good.

I think it's more along the lines of playing the Suns in the 1st round means they actually make the playoffs.

I think even if he gets back, he'll re-sign on the cheap with the Jazz this summer.

Of course. He's Jazz through and through. I don't think he's going to be able to return until like January anyway.

I thought Portland used their TPE in this but they did send Satoransky so there was no need. They still have $21m TPE.

Mavs reportedly shopping Porzingis. I really hope they find a suitor insane enough to absorb his awful contract.

And it’s done! Good deal by both and my goodness am I starting a save with Sixers on 2K tomorrow.

Wow they actually traded him. You know what, I've had a soft spot for the Sixers since AI. I'd much rather root them to win than the fecking Nets.

I used to live in Philly so I feel similar. I really don’t like Harden though so feck em

Same here. Once the Mavs are out I'll be cheering for CP3 and Embiid.

Despite the way he left, he's still the best Rockets player in my lifetime. A lot of the fanbase have turned against him but I just can't. Will always love him. Sixers is nice team to root for, so pretty happy with this development.

I'm a Nets fan and have followed them since the NJ days and I'm not that unhappy about this news. Despite a decent start for us he's not been overly impressive.

Good for both teams. Harden and Embiid is a hell of a duo for Sixers, and Simmons’ offence won’t be needed anywhere near as much in Brooklyn.

Kyrie can't play home games. Joe Harris is out for the season. Plus, teams will have no hesitation sending Ben Simmons to the line in close playoff games.

Why the feck would you want Dinwiddie and Bertans??

This trade deadline day has been wild. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Raptors have on offer after getting Thad Young and Eubanks for Dragic + a protected 1st. I never thought about this earlier, but they might just decide to trade Boucher or one of the other bench bigs.

I like the Sixers but dislike Harden immensely. I also dont like Durant or Kyrie but really like Seth. On the other hand I really don't think the Dubs match up well with the Bucks. What to do, what to do?

It's all in on the Heat I suppose for the East.

And then the Mavs waltz in and outdo everyone in stupidity. Getting rid of KP, fair enough... For two even worse contracts. Gave the Wizards a pick, too.
I hate this organisation.

Yeah, that one makes no sense to me at all.
Mavs lost on all fronts, it's insane.

- Gave up the best player in the trade
- Got back two bad players, not even a decent one
- Took an MORE money because they both have disgusting contracts
- Gave a pick as compensation on top of it

The Mavs FO is an embarrassment, I want a new team...

You can join me in search of a new franchise to support.

This deal is even worse than the Powell/Covington one.

If it weren't for the fact that KP didn't contribute much to winning and the Lakers trading for Westbrook, this would be a contender for worst trade of the decade. I still can't wrap my head around it. If Nico Harrison isn't just another Cuban puppet (btw.: Dinwiddie and Cuban are apparently crypto-bros) he's the worst GM in the league.

If this team didn't have Luka, I would never even look back at it.
Which team do we adopt?

Saw a stat that said Harden, Kyrie, and Durant only played 16 games together. That is absolutely crazy if it is true.

It is. They won 13 of those.
I really wish I could laugh at the Nets and their failed superteam today, but I really can't.

Game 7 of ECF Simmons game winning dunk over Embiid. In Philly. Stands over him flexing screaming “I own this city!”

What a horrific trade by Dallas btw. Their front office has been crap for a while.

They first traded Seth Curry for Josh Richardson, who turned out to be poor. Then they gave THJ a massive new contract for just a few great playoff games, now they're trading Porzingis to two players who won't contribute anything.

I know this is a salary dump, but when has Dallas ever been successful at attracting free agents in the past? This is like when NYK did the same with Porzingis to try and get KD and Kyrie but ended up with Randle.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas ends up letting Brunson go and give Finney Smith a new big contract.

The sad thing: We have a new GM. And he's apparently even worse than our old one.

The contract for DFS is really solid for both sides, though.

Also: Dallas isn't doing a salray dump, Dimwiddie and Bertans actually earn more combined than Porzingis. The Mavs are in the luxury tax and can't sign anyone except for Brunson because they have his bird rights.

Yeah, I don't mind that contract. $13m/year is a reasonable amount for him. Let's see what they have planned out for the rest of the team.

It all depends on whether they can sign Brunson because if they can't afford him and then lost him, it's all worthless.
