NBA 2018-2019

Zion is the most exciting player since LeBron James. Please Basketball gods send him the Knicks way.

They don't deserve him. Hawks or Suns would be fun.
Knicks deserve something good for once and a player of Zion’s calibre deserves a stadium city and fan base as passionate as Knicks and MSG. Hawks barely fill out their stadium and though I respect suns they already have a lot of good young players.

Though I must admit. Suns young core plus Zion and Lonxo sounds mouth watering.

Like I said though New York and Zion is a match made in happen.

It would be kind of fun if Knicks got him, much rather them than the Bulls or the Cavs.

I am convinced (also because I am a deluded Knicks fan) that IF the Knicks get Zion then New York will get both Durant and Kyrie but only if they get Zion if they don’t then I don’t see it happening.

But that 3 headed monster plus the good young players the Knicks already have now would have then run through the east yearly.

Keep in mind this is all fantasy and won’t happen :(. Knowing how the Knicks are they will probably get last place in the standings and still manage to get the 3rd pick on the draft

Nah, the Knicks way is that they get all 3 and somehow KD and Kyrie will flop while Zion gets traded away before his rookie contract ends.

Dolan deserves feck all. I'll give you the fans, although their arrogance annoys me at times.

I agree on Dolan I despise him. But the fans have nothin to do with the horrible ownership in the past 20 years. A team city and arena like MSG deserve a championship team. Their is no hotter attraction in the nba when the Knicks are good and competing. They sell out MSG and are last place imagine that arena when they are winning.

90% sure they'll be getting KD and Kyrie. So good things are coming!

Having lost the first half in Miami by 20, Milwaukee are now 71-32 (!!!!) ahead in the second.

Randle dropped 45 points while Payton had triple double but it wasn’t enough to beat solid Portland who are now firmly competing for 3rd seed with Houston and OKC.

Amazing! I looked at the score half-time to see that they were losing.

I think it will be an OKC - Portland 4v5 seed match-up.

Bet you’d like that as an OKC fan, always nice to get a 4-game series before playing Warriors in semis instead of going into 6 or 7 games with somebody else.

Third seed is so valuable this year. I think it will go to Houston though and we will have a repeat of last year’s conference finals in the West.

I'd have OKC as favourites but both Portland and Utah as potential match-ups scare me. Lillard definitely scares me

Nah whoever plays Portland in the playoffs will either sweep the series or win 4-1 at worst. The only way for Portland to win a series is IMO to get the third seed and play Clippers (maybe Spurs as well). I have given up all hope and expectations for the playoffs after last year.

Against Houston, OKC or Denver, Blazers will not seriously compete I think.

Why?

Surely they could do something with a core of Booker, Williamson and Ayton?

If they could trade in Ball too then you have a great complimentary piece for those three.

Ball, Booker, Zion and Ayton fit terribly together. Too many ball handlers, not nearly enough shooting.

When they say that someone is shooting 50% from the field, does that include layups and dunks?

Ball doesn't need to shoot, he really just had to facilitate and defend well. Naturally he'll get some shots but that's not where he's most effective.

I think it could work.

Someone has to shoot. Ball, Zion and Ayton won’t, at least not to an extend you will need them to.

Modern NBA team can get away with one non shooter, possibly two non shooters if they have other special talents and the rest of team are above average shooters. Getting away with three below average shooters will be very, very difficult.

Just the weekly reminder that Durant ruined the NBA and the Warriors with his decision.

.*** boy zion put up 31 and 11 on 13-19 shooting tonight
Hope Lakers get lucky in the lottery

I've got to admit I enjoy watching the Dubs play more when KD is not in the line up. Having said that he really is a great insurance policy when things are not going exactly according to plan. On the other side of the coin, they are now 25-1 in the last 26 games KD has missed.

I even enjoy watching them play without Durant

Flattening lottery odds seems to have had two effects on the non-playoffs teams. On one hand struggling teams like Phoenix or Chicago play hard at the end of season because they know that extra defeats will not give them any favorability as there is almost no real difference between being the worst and the third worst team (aside from the worst spot you are going to end up in but the year it’s all about no. 1).

On the other hand teams that would maybe normally compete for the playoffs until late in the season, like Dallas or Lakers, choose a point during the season when they give up because they know that 6-7 extra losses could give them like 8% chance at no. 1 which is material difference.

Dallas now have 7th best odds and 7.5% chance at no. 1, over 3% at top 4 and not conveying the pick to Atlanta this year.

Lakers now with 3% chance at no. 1 and over 13% shot at top 4.

They might be a better regular season team without him because of their style. However he elevates then to a different level in the playoffs which is more important. Cleveland series would have never gone to game 6 with KD instead of Barnes in that lineup.

Lakers are admirably good at tanking I must say.

I had it taped so I've just seen it. Gotta say that was mighty impressive from the Lakers. The foul on Mudiay by Caldwell-Pope with 22 seconds to go with no fouls to give I think deserves extra credit. Mighty impressive!
