NBA 2018-2019

I had it taped so I've just seen it. Gotta say that was mighty impressive from the Lakers. The foul on Mudiay by Caldwell-Pope with 22 seconds to go with no fouls to give I think deserves extra credit. Mighty impressive!

Yeah it’s basically perfect. You show people that you could win this game under normal circumstances because, well, you are playing the Knicks whose best player is probably Emmanuel Mudiay, and the lose it on purpose.

bit too late to tank, can they be one of the worst 4 teams?

No.

But they have only 31 wins, that is one more than New Orleans and Washington.

Lakers now have 14% chance at top 4 draft pick and 3% chance at no. 1.

Washington have 20% and 4.5% chance respectively. New Orleans 26% and 6%. The difference really is substantial with every loss.

Not to mention that in case they don’t get into top 4, they will still likely have no. 8 which is better than having no. 10, of course. Their goal will now be to improve their odds as much as they can.

Memphis might win a few games between now and the end of season too, so they could move above them. I doubt they can do worse than Dallas anymore though as Dallas are strongly focused on being as bad as they can be. (Memphis would probably prefer to convey their pick to Boston this year and have a clean start)

What a comeback by the Nets. Down 10 with 58 seconds to go they tie it up with 5.3 seconds left and then Lou Williams hits a three to win it for the Clippers with no time left on the clock.

Russell :eek: What a game, what a comeback
The Nets are just a really fun team. Apart from the Dubs they are the team I've probably watched the most this year. That 4th quarter was something else.

Anybody here thinking that GSW will not win this year? (if major injuries are avoided)

Rockets are going to give them problems IMO if they don't get any injuries like last year.

I haven't been following so closely but it feels like GSW have chemistry issues and it doesn't take much to disrupt at that high level.

Remember Lakers gave up on this guy because he dimed on Nick Young and they threw money at Deng and Mozgov. They could have ended up with a starting 5 of Russell, Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma, Randle with cap space or even drafted Tatum over Lonzo.

Kellerman is so on point here. I wish the Knicks would stop trying to hit homeruns every offseason, draft well and develop talent. Build a team instead of praying every year that some free agent is going to join our trainwreck of a franchise.

I'm sometimes critical of James Harden but sometimes you've just got to hold your hands up and recognize how good the guy is. Twice tonight he pulled the Rockets back from the brink of defeat only to have it snatched away in the end. Congrats to the Grizzlies and @adexkola . I really thought they were toast when Harden tied it up at the end of regulation.

Thanks but I'd rather improve our chances of reaching Zion

It was a great performance from Harden to be fair. Conley showed out too, he deserves to be on a contending team.

4 teams tied in the Western Conference now at 42-30, that'll be an interesting last 10 games of the season...

Is Ja Morant starting to be the consensus #2 pick or is he still in balance with RJ Barrett (and others)? Just posted a triple double to upset Marquette in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, first player to do so since Draymond Green in '12.

See you in the first round @charlton66 :(:(:(
I hope not. I consider OKC when they're playing well to be the Dubs biggest threat apart from Houston. Interesting what happened last night though. The Thunder didn't even play but because of the Jazz loss they have now jumped from the 8th seed to the 5th seed (all four teams 5-8 having identical records).

I think it's going to be Jazz in 5th, OKC in 6th, Spurs in 7th and Clippers in 8th.

I hope Portland make it to 3rd. Rockets have a hard schedule.

Think it'll depend on who gets the second pick. I know Ja is the one we need to go for if we get that pick.

I think so, aside from RJ Barrett I don’t see anyone else with a chance to make it to #2. RJ did have a fantastic game last night too though, as did Culver who I also rate.

Golden State are losing to Dallas by a few.

Dubs 25-1 Steph/no KD.
Dubs 5-7 KD/no Steph.

KD/Klay 0-12 from three. The Warriors really did suck tonight. Steph or no Steph.

Probably because Steph is such an unselfish player, KD baaad, Steph goooood.
They really do play better when it's KD that's out rather than Steph, although tonight being totally honest I don't think would have made any difference. Warriors defense was awful and the offense wasn't much better.

EDIT: According to NBA.com, the Warriors are outscoring opponents by a team-best 11.8 net rating with Curry on the floor. That number plummets to a minus-3.8 without him.

Have that feeling. 3 peat is incredibly hard and mentally draining, no matter how great the team is.
Saying that, not sure who aside of Houston will take them to 6 or 7 games series.

Whoever comes out of the East will be better than Houston, I think.

Bucks are more ready than Toronto who are just way too fragile.

Could be. Tbh, I catch few games that I can so haven't seen much of Bucks this year.
Only have a feeling that Kawhi could give Toronto what they were missing in these last few years.

Either way, think that play-offs will be great this year.
