NBA 2018-2019

Green was sensational last night, in all facets of the game. Pundits talk about Durant being out allowing Curry to shine, but it is really Draymond who benefits the most. Helps that he has slimmed down from earlier in the season and is moving so well now.

Warriors are infinitely more fun to watch without KD for me.

I'm not sure what to think about this Bucks team. On paper they have only one player that would get anywhere near an all star berth in the West but what a player that guy is. At times they have looked extraordinary this season blowing out teams by the boat load. However, in the playoffs so far they have beaten a mediocre Detroit team missing their best player for half the series, a flawed Boston team and are 2-0 up on a team who are notorious for not being at their best in the playoffs. So what to think? Personally, I've got to say they do worry me - a lot. I love their chemistry and think they have the makings of a great "team." However, this is the first year the Bucks have won a playoff series in a long time and playing in the finals for the first time can be a challenge. If they both can make it I'm hoping for a great series between the two.

....and to reiterate. Yes I am worried.

Detroit without any all-star defeated Lakers who had the 2 best players in the league. Sometimes, chemistry matters more than having superstars.

Not this time though, Bucks will get 2 games at most.

I love overconfidence of Warriors fans just because they beat a struggling Portland team. Hope players have the same attitude coming up against Bucks then indeed it will be over in 6 at most.

As much as I'd love the Bucks to win and I feel like they have a good chance, I'm pretty sure GS won't be come to the finals cocky. They're too experienced and good for that

Revan is giving Warrior fans a bad name here. Not in the least bit overconfident. If anything I'm always afraid that something will go wrong.

For the third time, the Bucks have me worried.:nervous:

Bucks have a 14/15 golden state vibe to them. By any metric they are one of the best teams of the last 20 years. Their defence is terrifying and they have a lot of shooters around Giannis. They're like an optimized version of LeBron's cavs, though with less top end talent. Still, LeBron would have really pushed the warriors with that team around him. Giannis will. Expect that series to be as tough for dubs as rockets last year

Also, bucks are beating toronto tonight

Warriors will be favourites but I wouldn’t be cocky about ‘maximum two wins for Bucks’. For starters their homecourt advantage is one of the best in the league when it comes to the playoffs, and they have always caused Warriors trouble with their length and versatility. Back in 73-win season they were the first team that handed Warriors a loss, to make it 23-1 instead of 24-0. Their second game of that season they were leading for a long time at Oracle and could have become the first team to win in Oakland that year too.

This year they annihilated Warriors at Oracle too, and were competitive at home as well despite having an off night.

They will be in every single one of those games if they make it to Finals and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them win, as much as Warriors would be favourites.

What was most impressive for me is how they bounced back from that Celtics loss. They show amazing versatility and can throw so many different line ups at you, they basically adjusted to the opposition and won remaining 4 without any issue.

Every single player on that team can shoot and most of them can defend 2-3 positions easily. All of them are good defenders as well, Mirotic is probably the worst one in their playoffs rotation and even he isn’t terrible. Giannis, Bledsoe, Middleton and Lopez are all great defenders.

Their moves in the offseason and during this year were all magnificent. They got rid of all the bad fits and replaced them with players you should be putting around Giannis.

Pelicans have hired Trajan Langdon as their GM. Apparently very good, he was responsible for overseeing Nets recruitment and rebuilding of their G-League team which was super impressive in terms of feeding their first team with under the radar talent.

I think they might stick with Davis for a while and try to convince him to stay.

Where did I say that the Bucks will win a maximum of two games? I keep saying the Bucks have me worried. I would be happy to win the series no matter how many games it goes. In fact if I was a Bucks fan my only concern would be that if they make it to the final that they are a young team with limited playoff experience.

Also not to be pedantic it was 24-0 going to 24-1 with the loss to the Bucks. ;)

I was referring to Revan’s post.

Warriors were a young team with limited playoffs experience in 2014-15 too.

We are going round in circles. That's why I said Revan is giving Warrior fans a bad name. Not all Dubs fans think like he does.

Damn @Revan this is all your fault. ;):D

If Raptors lose this they better pack it up.

Better the whole game but at VanVleet and Siakam will cost them big time.

Fantastic match.

If Raptors manage to win in the next one they might make a great series.

Giannis being fouled out played a big part .

Great to watch but how many chances are the Raptors going to get in these games. They should have won this about three times over. Glad to see the 2 OT though and hope whoever wins is pushed all the way.

Damn, I want the Bucks to be as fresh as possible if they face the Warriors.

In all honesty even if it goes 7 whoever wins should be pretty fresh. The finals don't start until the 30th May and game 7 in the East is scheduled to be on the 27th so the winner gets at least 3 days and starts at home. There is also 3 days between every game in the finals barring games 3 and 4 (only 2 days) so everybody should be fairly rested. I like the long layoff since the Dubs have so many injuries and could do with the extra time to get everybody healthy..

It never ceases to amaze me just how awful final possession iso plays are. The Kawhi one at the end of the game or the 1st OT (can't recall) was just so garbage. 14 seconds left so let me stand at half court until 3 seconds left then drive into 3 defenders. Good one.

After having spent several years under Casey, I'm not surprised that Nurse's iso plays aren't that good. Hopefully he learns from this season's experiences and grows.

If Raptors need Giannis to play badly like that to win a game, then this was their last win in the series.

Sarni has set the Bucks up for a spectacular fall here.

 They are going to drop four straight to the Raptors now, aren’t they?

They were always going to lose at least one of those games in Toronto. I think even if it goes 2-2 they should be fine as I do not think they will drop games at home.

Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it.

The jinx is real!

I think they will win comfortably though. It took their worst game in a while and terrible nights from both their best players for Raptors to get that win, and barely so after double OT.

Middleton too.
Green Danny and VanVleet had mares for Raptors as well. Gasol kept them ticking and let them in initially in the game. He was great presence and whilst Leonard will get all the plaudits, he was just as important IMO.

I don't think they had mares really, these were their standard playoffs performances this season. Especially VanVleet who I don't think has had more than two games in a row that were not terrible. He shot 13% from the floor in the series against Sixers

Yeah, same. Although I'd certainly root for the Raptors to take it to game 6 or 7, as last night and even the 1st game was pretty entertaining.

Hadn't looked his stats for the 76'ers game, but last night - 1 in 11 for 2 and 1 in 8 for 3 was diabolical. Bucks were just letting him off take free shots at one time.

When Lowry was out I thought Bucks would run away with it and if it wasn't for Giannis being out they probably would.

Why Lakers left Brook Lopez leave? He is earning just a bit more than 3m for year, so it was hardly a salary issue. I think that LeBron would have loved playing with him.

Because they are incompetent.
