NBA 2018-2019

Amazing game. Think that's the series. Actually started to root for the Nuggets once it got into OT since, as a neutral, I wanted to see this series go 7. A loss in 3 OTs will likely be devastating for a young team like them, especially with Jokic playing 65+ minutes. We'll see what the Nuggets are made of after a heartbreak loss like tonight's, but can't see them coming back if they go down 3-1.

As an aside, Jokic needs to learn some go-to moves to use down the stretch. Had trouble creating space and getting off his shot as the game wore on, although fatigue was likely one of the reasons as it got deeper into the OTs.

Didn't understand the Denver decision to go for 2 with Jokic in the post at the end there , you are down 2 on the road in multiple ot situation I think they should definitely have tried a 3 . If you miss you can maybe grab an offensive rebound but at least you are giving yourself a chance to win . The play they went for gave them no chance to win unless Jokic gets an and1 . Even if Jokic had made his free throws it would have been tied with blazers having 5 seconds and a time out

I would have leaned towards going for the win as well, but can see why they went with Jokic in that situation since they had a mismatch with Harkless isolated 1v1 on him. I'm more critical of the fact they had chances to win the game on the final possession in the first and third OTs but settled for deep contested threes on both occasions (Jokic and Murray). If those were the best plays they could draw up coming out of timeouts, that's not good enough.

Kanter is such a hero. Not only he’s playing well above expectations, especially on defense, but he’s also doing that with a shoulder injury and playing through so much pain. He was almost in tears towards the end last night yet carried on.

That’s with free agency looming in two months. He’s potentially risking his payout to contribute for us and win. What a guy. It’s such a shame we probably won’t be able to retain him because we had given those idiotic deals to Evan Turner and Meyers Leonard.

I miss Kanter. Great guy. Interesting that he finally ended up with Portland after they went after him years ago. Someone in that front office must rate him highly. Glad he's playing well.

Olshey loves him. He offered him that $70million offer sheet that OKC had to match in 2015.

Even his defense hasn’t been THAT bad in these playoffs, last night I though he did better on that end than Jokic.

Speaking of Jokic...

I don’t think they even called it a foul. And it’s not even like he did it once, he tried targeting Kanter’s bad shoulder multiple times during the game.

They had last possession at the end of the game (not so clear as it was from the rebound with 5 sec to go, but could use time out I think), but also really bad last possession at the end of OT1 and OT3.

Obviously, luck played it's part in such a game, but they were more times in a winning position I thought.

Edit: just seen @ArseHat already mentioning it

Portland’s story of the game was taking the lead before the closing minutes and then dropping that just before we approach the final minute of the game. I thought we were done when down by 4 with 31 seconds to go in OT3 but Dame made two solid choices to go for a couple of layups instead of trying a hero ball. We were lucky that the ball bounce off of Murray as they could have run the clock down to 3 seconds.

I think if we win on Sunday we will get to the WCF.

Yeah, that is also true tbf. As for the end of OT3 think pretty much everyone thought it was over with only 30 seconds to go. Crazy game.

When was the last time play-off game went into four OTs? Did it ever happen?

It’s top sports. If you’re not fit enough, stay off the field, and if you want to carry on, fair enough but don’t be surprised if the opposition targets your weak spot. Nothing wrong with that imo.

1953 I think they mentioned that during broadcast. Been a while.

It’s a bitch move though. Kudos to Kanter for playing through pain, he knew the team was done without him and stayed on the floor despite being hurt, I won’t ever criticize him for that.

It’s fine that he targets that but it’s a foul and they have to call them.

Oh yeah definitely, no doubt about that.

And kudos to Kanter indeed. That’s winning mentality.

No it's not on. Normal tussling for the ball is all well and good but if my ankle is wrapped up you don't have the right to leave your foot on it.

Jokic has been getting away with a lot of these petty fouls in these series.

Denver could have more issues with fatigue ahead of tomorrow’s game. Both teams had players logging in 50-60 minutes last night but Denver played 7 games in round 1 while we were done after 5, plus Jokic played much more than anyone else yesterday and his conditioning is obviously not as good as Lillard or McCollum anyway. Really, really hoping for a win tomorrow.

Enes "can't play Kanter" and Rodney Hood, playoff heroes

Also, Jokic played 65 minutes  i think the nuggets might be done after this one. Game 4 in 40 hours after the end of game 3...

But I’m doing it regardless if I see your ankle taped up. Sorry but that’s just what happens and I can’t blame anyone doing it.

From bad to worse for Toronto. Can’t see them winning without Siakam, Ibaka has been useless and there’s no one else.

They're pretty much done if they have to depend on the likes of Vanvleet and Leonard.

Can't see anything other than Rockets win. They are going to play more desperate and we all know how warriors slack off.

How anyone that likes basketball can cheer for the rockets is beyond me

Maybe try doubling Kevin Durant, houston?

I don't know the numbers but feels like Curry and Thompson have been shooting poorly all series.
