NBA 2016-17

So few upsets these days, again looks like the top four seeds will progress unless Utah wins game 7.

Lonzo and Fultz are generational talents. They should go #1 and #2

Clippers just being the Clippers. They will lose game 7 at home now

Heard John Wall was incredible in the wizards series clinching win

I think Jackson could go above Ball and if the team selecting third is worried about Lonzo's reputation, they could select Tatum instead. Fox and Smith also have great potential to be special at the point guard, Monk could become a volume scorer in this draft. I absolutely love this draft prospects.

Nobody should go above Fultz. He looks like an absolute superstar.

I think we have had some good series though. Utah v Clippers has been fantastic, Wizards v Atlanta was kind of odd as only one of these games was close, same for Bulls v Celtics which did not really have any tense action despite 4-2. Memphis v San Antonio on the other hand had fantastic games, mostly in Memphis.

Cavs vs Raptors .. Sweep or 4-1 to Cavs.
Wizards vs Celtics .. Wizards will do it but won't be easy , I predict 4-2 or 4-3 to them.
Rockets vs Spurs .. very interesting but think Rockets will do it, will extend to game 6 or 7.
Warriors vs Jazz/Clippers .. Warriors will win anyway but if they played Clippers it can be another sweep. Vs Jazz and it can go 4-1.

This is a disgraceful display by Chicago. This team has no heart or soul. I can't believe that this was once the team of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Tony Kukoc and others.

I am ashamed to be a Bulls fan tonight. Absolutely ashamed!

Don't really want to talk about that shambolic performance. I'm glad the season is finished for us as I can't take any more of this shite.

Based on their performances so far in postseason, no chance. Spurs will win that series pretty comfortably in my opinion, probably in 5 games.

Don't think it'll be that easy even if Spurs win, it'll extend to game 6 or 7 imo.

That will need Rockets upping their game massively and even then I can't see them winning. Spurs are much more focussed and disciplined.

Rockets shot 16% from 3 as a team in the last match, which is supposedly their strength. Absolutely rubbish.

I think judging the team based on one match which can be unlucky in is unfair imo. Any team can have an off-day. Also the series was done since they took the lead 3-1 so they'll sure won't play to their full performance. They only needed one more win and against a mediocre team. Against Spurs they'll appear with a different performance I reckon.

I think it's a very interesting match up between the Rockets' offense and Spurs' defense. Spurs is the best team defensively in the league so seeing this match-up will be interesting.

I can see Spurs finding the Rockets series more comfortable than the Grizzlies.

I would say Utah has been the best defense this season but Spurs are definitely up there.

That match was obviously a lowlight for them in the series but for the entire series they were pretty underwhelming compared to their regular season performances and they were lucky to face a team that was a sure bet to go out in the first round. Spurs on the other hand have steadily built their confidence and have been getting the crucial plays in their favour. Not that they are perfect by any means and LMA has been really poor so far, needs to be a lot better but I think they are a good fit to face this Rockets team. Of course as I said this is based on their respective playoff games so far, if Rockets can get their form back then it would be a lot more even with Spurs edging out in the end.

Yep.

I agree on your opinion on Spurs so far. My problem with them, though, is I'm not really impressed with their offense as much as I'm impressed with their defense.

Very true. They could have been in trouble last game had Parker not turned up as he did given LMA's poor form.

Every one finds the Grizzlies uncomfortable. They're the grindhouse. Spurs are lucky the grindfather was injured

Anyways, predictions, predictions, predictions...

Jazz take game 7 in devastating fashion

Dubs sweep Jazz
Spurs over Rockets 4-2
Cavs sweep Raptors
Wizards over Cs 4-2

Dubs over Spurs 4-1
Cavs sweep Wizards

Dubs over Cavs 4-1

If Lakers are top 3, I think that they have Lonzo in their pockets. There are too many other potentially great players for the top 2 teams in the draft to get Lonzo who has declared that he wants to play for Lakers, and with the baggage he have (his areshole father).

My predictions:

Warriors sweep against Clippers, sweep or 4-1 against Utah.
Spurs defeat Rockets in 6 matches.
Cavs defeat Raptors in 5 or 6 matches.
Boston and Wizards go to match 7, advantage Boston.

While I agree with that, the We Believe Warriors days or the Celtics Bulls 4 OTs games are long gone...

Lonzo ahead of Jackson? I'd have thought the latter is the obvious choice for you.

If we hold on to Bledsoe, sure, but I think the GM will look to trade Bledsoe and a couple of others and rebuild with Lonzo and Booker if the situation presents itself. Josh Jackson would instantly upgrade our perimeter defense, athleticism, and will to win. The problem is that at the NBA level he will be a liability from the 3 point line for the first 3-5 years of his career. In this era of pace and space, it hurts to have a wing who can't consistently make 3s. I've followed Jackson since high school and always thought that he had the highest ceiling of any player in his class but it will take some time for him to fulfill his potential. Ultimately, if you are drafting in the top 3 you automatically go for the best player available, the player who is most likely to change your fortunes ASAP. For me, Lonzo has more of an opportunity to do that.

I'm predicting the Warriors sweep their way through the West en route to the Finals. Can't see LAC/Utah winning once, and not sold on the Rockets/Spurs pulling off a win on current form either.

Isiah Thomas had to pick his tooth up from the floor 5 minutes into the game today. Poor bastard can't catch a break.

NBA play offs are intense as feck. No break, if you're the last teams to finish your series.

Everyone hitting threes like crazy right now.

Opened the game on the 4th quarter only and now I'm gutted I didn't watch it from the start. Very intense and great plays.

Celtics take Game 1. Very impressive from them. Thomas, Horford, Crowder, Bradley and the bench all with massive performances.

Wizards stared really strong and were leading for the entire first half but got blown out in the third and couldn't get back. Losing Morris early on didn't help.

Great from Celtics scoring 123 points on Wizards. The series is still long, though so let's see what will be the Wizards reaction.

Wizards had no chance after Morris went down. Going to be a short series if he's out for a long time.

I'm praying the raptors can surprise everyone in game 2 or the East will be a case of waiting to see how many more games rest the Cavs have than the warriors.

I remember when the carry was illegal. Everyone does it now days.

OK so I am not watching the Spurs/Rockets match...what is going on exactly? How are the Spurs down by so much

Obviously they can turn this around but, Kawhi's greatness has masked a ton of holes in the Spurs these last two seasons.

It's not going to last, Rockets bar Gordon playing terrific BBall, but knowing them they'll lose 30 points lead in the 3rd alone and then the whole game in the 4th by like 20.

Are they just playing far better than they did against OKC? Or are Spurs just playing/defending really badly?

They are playing far better than the OKC series I think key here is Capela being a factor, OKC took him out of the whole series, and they are shooting really well.
