Whew...........
The series was beyond Portland's reach from the beginning but we could have hurt them tonight. It's a young inexperienced team that wasn't even meant to reach playoffs let alone face Warriors in a semifinal, no wonder they crumbled under pressure. Still they gave a very good account of themselves in the first three quarters and show great promise for future. I can't help thinking that with a good big like Horford or Whiteside and an efficient stretch four like Leuer this side would be serious challengers.Massive win for the Warriors - they had every reason to lose that, instead they pulled off the win. I know Portland will say, the Warriors simply did what they were meant to do, but that loss will hurt them.
I agree with them not being as good at home as before. However, not convinced that Spurs will win the next two. When Thunders are good, they're really good.I may be wrong but I don't think the Thunder have been as strong at home as previous seasons. I think the Spurs will definitely win one of the next two.
He said one of the next two though, which I completely agree with. There's almost no way the Thunder will beat this Spurs team three times in a row, they even got lucky that the foul/technical on Ginobili wasn't spotted by the refs.I agree with them not being as good at home as before. I guess I misread that. One of the next two is definitely possible. He said one of the next two though, which I completely agree with. There's almost no way the Thunder will beat this Spurs team three times in a row, they even got lucky that the foul/technical on Ginobili wasn't spotted by the refs.
Raptors surrender HC advantage twice in Game 1, they sure like to make it difficult for themselves. I'd love a Heat-Cavs matchup in the ECF though, Wade against LeBron.
The NBA listed five incorrect non-calls from the final 13.5 seconds of Monday's game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs.
Spurs guard Man Utd Ginobili should have been whistled for delay of game for stepping on the sideline as he was attempting to defend the game's final inbounds play, and Thunder guard Dion Waiters should have been called for an offensive foul for crossing the out-of-bounds plane and hitting Ginobili with his elbow as he inbounded the ball, the league said Tuesday in its last-two-minutes report.
Lead referee Ken Mauer said after the Thunder's Game 2 win over the Spurs that a non-call during a controversial inbounds play should have been an offensive foul.
After the ball was inbounded by Waiters, fouls should have been called on the Spurs' Patty Mills and Kawhi Leonard. The league said that Mills grabbed and held Thunder center Steven Adams, and that Leonard grabbed Russell Westbrook's jersey.
Finally, after the Spurs stole the inbounds pass and made a final effort to hit a winning shot, a shooting foul should have been called on Thunder forward Serge Ibaka for grabbing and holding the jersey of LaMarcus Aldridge with 2.6 seconds left.
Lead referee Ken Mauer acknowledged the missed offensive foul by Waiters after the game.
"On the floor, we did not see a foul on the play," Mauer told a pool reporter. "However, upon review we realize and we agree we should have had an offensive foul on the play. It's a play we've never seen before, ever. We should have had an offensive foul on the play."
The National Basketball Referees Association also tweeted Tuesday that the play would be used in training moving forward.
The NBA listed three other missed infractions by the Spurs that occurred before the final-play scramble.
Me to. Be interesting to see Lebron's reception in Miami (if any fans actually bother to turn up, that is).
Haven't they had like 280 consecutive sold outs?

Wasn't really much of a traitor when he left either, was he? He went back to his boyhood club to help them win championship.I think most Miami fans respect Lebron at the very least. After all, he got them 2 rings.

we're all concentrating on the West (rightly so)...but, the Cavs are playing pretty damn well atm.
New NBA playoffs record of 25 three pointers. If they continue to hit from deep - they'll trouble whoever wins the West.
There were at MSG.'Technically', But I'd argue that they are overstated attendances, which does happen quite a bit in US Events. I base this on some of the Heat league pass games I've watched this season where there has been rows of empty seats, not far from the front either if I'm nitpicking.
He went back because they had a younger (and 'better') big 3 (while realizing that the move will not hurt his brand, but probably even strengthen it). Nothing wrong with trying to win more rings. No need to kill him for it when he goes one way to achieve that, and no need to make excuses for him when he goes the other way to do it. It was a simple decision, and it would be the correct one if he manages to win more rings at Cleveland.Wasn't really much of a traitor when he left either, was he? ... and after they already committed to McRoberts and Granger. They would have been able to offer a near max contract if he announced his intentions earlier.Yeah. There was a bit of bitterness because Lebron left after the draft. If he announced before they may have picked differently. But they have a glut of talent so I think that's all under the water now.
Not a fan of Vogel being let go by the Pacers. Enjoyed the duels between his team and Miami in the Eastern Conference Playoffs a few years ago.
I can understand Bird wanting the team to head in a different direction - he wants to play small ball...more up tempo. But, the way he went about getting rid of Vogel was disgusting. Not a fan of Vogel being let go by the Pacers. "He was trying to talk me out of it this decision," Bird said. "Frank loves it here, his family loves it. He kept bringing it up about if we can sit down and delay the news conference and start all over again. He's going to be missed. He's good for our community."

Basically Vogel was on the phone begging for his job and Bird thought it was ok to share that info with the media. It's like he went out of his way to be a douche.
Westbrook. You fecking idiot.
He made 10 out of 32 FGs. That is shocking. He is taking more than double the shots than what Durant takes. Why? KD is clearly the better player and the higher % shooter.Westbrook. You fecking idiot.
Two turnovers of his own and was completely asleep when Durant was looking to kick it to him.

The day they take the ball out of Westbrook's hands. One day the Thunder will have a good late game offense one day.
