NBA 2015-2016

All star starting five:
West: Curry, Westbrook, Kobe, Durant, Leonard
East: Lowry, Wade, George, LeBron, Melo

Well, Kobe is a joke but it was obvious that he'd get in. Wade and Melo shouldn't be there over Butler and Millsap.

Why is it a joke? It's the All Star game, not the All-NBA team. The fans vote for what they want to see and it's quite obvious they want to see Kobe out there.

Anyone remember centres ? They were good.
They fecked that up a couple of years ago when they changed the format to frontcourt/backcourt yeah, but I think it's a lot more fun this way. Besides, it's exactly this kind of small ball teams which rule the NBA right now.

The fact that the majority voted Kobe Bryant is a joke.

No that's fine. This nomination was a lifetime achievement award. Everyone knows, he is nowhere close to being an all star, but he is one of the top 10 players of all time...so, this is a fair enough way of the fans showing appreciation.

The near tragedy was Zaza nearly getting voted in. F-ing Zaza who is averaging 11/11, whereas Cousins and his 26/11 doesn't make it

Spurs will win it this year. The bench will help a lot in the playoff's.

During his first tenure at the Cavs and his time at Miami LeBron tried to recreate the the type of harmony and togetherness he had with his high school teammates. It has become pretty clear that LeBron sort of hates these guys.

Not nowhere.

Rumblings in the background for a month or so now...not to mention, LeBron has never been keen on him
I thought that was just the usual drama created by the media. Apparently not.

Perhaps I'm too much of an optimist, but I think there's chance now that Cavs don't make the Finals.

They'll make it by default.

I can't see anyone in the east beating them in a 7 game series.

The David Blatt/Tyronn Lue thing made no sense in the first place. They could not decide between Blatt and Lue so they hired Blatt and paid Lue a ton of money to be his assistant.

Was obvious that things weren't hunky dory but that's a surprise to me.

Can't have been many coaches fired at 30-11.

Is Westbrook ahead of Paul in both the assists and steals? Crazy.

Damn I thought the Mavs were actually gonna pull it back, great 4th quarter.

You would think that David Blatt would be the petty one in this situation but, the pettiness from David Griffin and Tyronn Lue are off the charts here.

Pop is managing the workload of the Spurs players perfectly so far, they will be fine-tuned and peaking for finals. Such a selfless team.

Any Aussies here - they remind me of how Clarkson managed the Hawks' aging stars. Get them peaking when it counts after a slow start.

Definitely. Clarkson has been influenced by the Spurs in a pretty big way. A few years ago he showed a video clip of the Spurs at some event (may have been the B&F). About their selflessness, culture, work ethic etc. He might have even gone over to their training base one year too.

Cavs drop the first game post-Blatt. Didn't see all of it but the fans were booing them at one point. It's a shame they'll probably still get into the finals by default.

The Warriors have now taken the buzzsaw to second and third best teams in the league. I know Duncan missed the game but, the Warriors comprehensively took the Spurs apart. I really do not know how the Spurs stop the Warriors transition offense in a 7 game series.

Yeah, pretty much used to Eboue at this point. A healthy Miami is a top 3 team in the East, no doubt about that.

It's the Spurs. They'll find a way. Or God help us all.

I expected more out of the Bucks and Magic this year. Washington is an interesting case, good back court with Wall and Beal but they just don't have many pieces outside of that, lost a good vet in Pierce, are they going to need another rebuild ?

I doubt it. Unless the Warriors have an unexpected dip in form come the Playoffs (which I don't expect because they've got too much quailty throughout their team for that) or the Spurs miraculously get home-court advantage, they're not going to beat the Warriors in a seven game series. They're better than last year, more experienced, and get hardly ever beaten at home. It'll be a huge upset if they don't repeat at this point, imo.

Not really a big NBA fan but still watched this game. It was a bit brutal and ridiculous how Golden State seemed to be a steroid version of Spurs in terms of ball movement with the added bonus of ridiculous three points shooting from Curry.

Steph is from another planet.

Even if you don't follow basketball, you cannot not appreciate watching this. This is like Messi at his best.

Exactly what came to my mind as well. No real reliance on any physical predisposition, just pure talent and skill.

Not strange at all...Clippers being the Clippers.

As the article says, the equipment manager is a close friend and has gone on vacation with Griffin. Griffin hit him inside the establishment and then chased him outside in order to hit him again.

Idiotic doesn't even come close to describing the behavior.
