I'm just happy Hassan Gawdside has a suitable back up.
Why not? He is one of the most efficient PFs out there.I don't rate LA quite that high, but i'd say that's next most likely, imo.
Spurs-Cavs.I expect a repeat of last year's finals.
That would be a cracking tie! We'll lose, but will be exciting.Smiling to the ECF.
Hopefully... You never know until you see him play.Solid pick-up. He can still make an impact from the bench.
Any decent NBA forums?

Always nice to see Big Ten players doing well in the NBA. Best fundamentals of any division.
Keith Appling is burning it up, and showing many teams screwed up passing him over, just like Draymond Green, which I pointed out here at the time.
Brandon Dawson also undervalued and underdrafted, class guy, he'll have a long NBA career, health permitting.
MSU is pure class, Izzo a legend.
I don't watch Portland's games (other than when they play my team), but from what I've seen from his highlights, he does post up and goes to the rim occasionally. Also, his mid-range jump shots are high percentage shots for a guy like him, just like Dirk's fadeaway jumper goes in 9 times out of 10. He's not afraid to use his size either. His defence is quite decent too. He's just what the Spurs needed IMO.I'm no expert on him, I'll just start with that. When I've watched him he's taken a lot of jump shots and didn't use his size to get easy buckets around the rim as much as I would want from someone that big and relatively quick. With the NBA moving towards small-ball recently, and moving away from shooting and towards slashing to the rim and getting to the foul line in the last 15 years, a player like him is at a disadvantage. The ridiculous 'Mark Jackson' rule that means you can't grind someone in the post anymore, is a big part of that.
But maybe he gets to the rim all the time and just not in the games I've seen.
The game is made these days for a guy like LeBron, who can get to the rim against anyone. Do I think LA is a top player? Definitely. I'm more worried about an aging Parker and Ginobli than I am that LA won't do his part. Is Duncan coming back? I adore Pop, I was a Bulls fan during Jordan's reign and have always been a Lakers fan, and I think Pop is better than Phil Jackson, no question in my mind. So I'm not underestimating him, he can definitely get that team to the finals and even win it.
But Golden State should be better next year as well. Should be a fun season.

RealGM is decent. Quite huge.

I have this idea in my head that you have to build a team around a certain sort of player these days to win it all. Let's look at the teams that have won the last 12 titles, and the best player on the team:
'15 - Warriors, Steph Curry
'14 - Spurs, Tony Parker
'13 - Heat, LeBron James
'12 - Heat, LeBron James
'11 - Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki
'10 - Lakers, Kobe Bryant
'09 - Lakers, Kobe Bryant
'08 - Celtics, Paul Pierce
'07 - Spurs, Tony Parker
'06 - Heat, LeBron James
'05 - Spurs, Tim Duncan
'04 - Pistons, Chauncy Billups
'03 - Spurs, Tim Duncan
We have 4 champions lead by slashing, shooting PGs (Parker, Curry, Billups)
3 lead by slashing, shooting SGs (Kobe, Pierce)
3 lead by slashing, shooting SFs (all LeBron, some would argue he's a PF but he doesn't play like one)
1 lead by a slashing, shooting PFs (Dirk)
2 lead by a posting, shooting C/PF (Duncan)
Championships, recently, have not often been built around a player like LA. However, Pops is the perfect team coach, and he has shown he can win any way he needs to.
Spurs ,System*
06 - Heat,Wade (Lebron was in Cleveland, but I'm guessing that was a mistake...lmao) and Shaq to an extent
Celtics, big 3
Pistons, solid starting lineup,Sheed might have been the difference
Warriors - role players
13 - Heat, big 3 + Allen.
I agree the system is the star for the Spurs, and so they can win with any players as their best, it seems. Pistons also were very much a team is the star type, very balanced.
Thanks for the correction.
Better than being half wrongYou're half right though, you need a superstar to get to the finals.
@gooDevil Even in years he did not win the Finals MVP Duncan has been the Spurs most important player for all of the titles.
I definitely think there is an argument for that, though perhaps not the last one. But for me the Spurs (and Pistons) are the recent anomalies to the rule of superstars win titles, so whether Duncan or Parker was more instrumental is a bit aside the point.
Wonder if Clips can trade Lischuck for Rio and Birdman. That would give them some of the depth they desperately need.
Duncan was a superstar, TP was a top 3 PG in the league. Don't let the system talk fool you, as we saw without a healthy TP Spurs lost in the first round.
How are the knicks doing?
And here we go again. Hope you are all ready for lockout 2017.
Porzingis is looking good in Summer League.
He'll finally take them to the WCF.Josh Smith to the Clippers, what were y'all saying again?
