NBA 2015-2016

Shame that he is such a dick. I just can't get behind him even though he plays for us. I've seen him at the Drew and at a few hookah spots around LA, major asshole. Little 10 year olds come up asking for an autograph, doesn't even acknowledge their presence, has his team escort them away.
Meh, MVP!

You could just not want to be bothered why hanging out with his buddies.

I get why they're paying him, I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it for his on-court endeavors, but I just hate seeing shitty human beings succeed.
Oh come on, if anyone can bring the championship to Houston again it's him, he's that good, he works hard and deserves everything he achieves.

Didn't want to open a new thread for it because I don't think too many here are interested anyway but does someone follow EuroBasket? Watching Germany vs Serbia right now, decent match so far.

Will the Lakers ever not suck again?

I hate this salary cap crap. How can I mock the Knicks if they can't spend twice as much as the Lakers while not even making the playoffs?

The good old days...

EuroBasket Semi-final France vs Spain today, 8pm. Should be a great game. Lithuania-Serbia is the other one tomorrow.

Can anyone recommend something like Fantasy Football for the NBA?

Yahoo is pretty good, ESPN has one too but meh.

Ah cool, thanks for that!

Spain won the EuroBasket yesterday, Gasol is just a monster. 25 points in the final and 40 points (whole spanish team scored 80, so 50% of all points!) in the semi-final against France. All that at the age of 35.

no salary cap in the NBA especially would be terrible. Teams like MIL, SAC, OKC, CHA would fold so quickly just because they wouldn't be able to compete financially. It's not like baseball where you can have a small payroll and make the playoffs because no player has as much influence on the game as the NBA.

Nonsense. You can have the richer teams pay the poorer teams without having a salary cap.

Also, revenue wasn't as bad as it seemed, the owners presented the numbers to benefit themselves and kept out some of the revenue generation from their figures. Such as the monumental increase in the value of the teams themselves.

Actually, probably not.

Only the Cavs thought he was a top 10 calibre player in the first place.

@Eboue and other NBA experts, what do you make of Dennis Schröder? Do you think he can become a future starting PG or not?

I like him. He is very ruthless and direct who isn't afraid to go at the Top players. Must admit it's always good to see Euro players flourish to.

Definitely a future starter. He could start now. Possibly a future star.

Cheers, I actually thought you wouldn't rate him Eboue because his shooting % is bad but I'll guess he will improve that. He got a hard ride from the German media and some pundits after the EuroBasket who criticized him for being to egoistic (a lot including Nowitzki praised him as well tho for playing good). I hope that and missing the last FT against Spain that would've tied the game won't knock on his confidence but I think Atlanta is a good environment to improve further.

I expect him to become a perennial starter for an NBA team in the future. As he has outgrown that back up role, also has the balls to go with it.

What is his TS% though?:wenger:

His true shooting percentage is certainly not good now, but he's so young that it will improve to a good level. Right now he's in the Ellis/Jackson/Beverley/Williams range and better than Rose/Smart/Felton, all of whom are capable starters.

Better than Rose? You value Rose that low after his injury?

His true shooting percentage was better than rose last year. It's not to say rose can't improve or that rose isn't a better passer/rebounder/defender. But I don't think rose will be all star caliber again, sadly.
I'm optimistic. Free flowing high tempo offense and a healthy off-season without rehab might just bring him back to All Star status. That's probably best case scenario for him though.

Is this new NBA season lacking hype or what? This is what you get for having accidental NBA champions, and a flash in the pan as the player of the season (somewhat).

Only on here. I was pretty hyped by watching Jimmy Butler in a facilitator role in a new exciting offense.

Kobe looks finished too.
He's 37, coming back from yet another season ending injury. Of course his explosiveness is gone.

Yes. This thread is pretty much a grave yard, but it's understandable. I was talking about the general hype a new season generates, which seems to be lacking this year.

Actually witnessing a 'finished' Kobe Bryant is painful to watch, despite knowing the reason(s) why.

Wait for the season to start! Miami are coming!

... to make the playoffs this time!

The league needs more personalities like MWP to get hyped about. Too many nice guys around now.

To the guys who want more personalities in the NBA. Matt Barnes drove 95 miles to get in a fight with Derek Fisher who is dating Barnes' ex wife.

I hope Russell's injury is nothing serious, it sure as hell looked nasty on the field :(
