Last week DeAndre Jordan decided to leave the Clippers and agreed to join Dallas, but free agents can't actually sign their new contract until midnight tonight. The Clippers heard Jordan might be having second thoughts so they've swooped in and seemingly convinced him to return/have kidnapped him until he can sign a contract at gunpoint.
Has there been a comparable situation to what we saw from Deandre Jordan and the Clippers today in the transfer window? There has to be.
Leaving a team with 2 top 10 players for a team with a 37 year old Hof'er is quite foolish to be fair, especially when the team is offering you more money, a spot in the conference finals and the opportunity to remain a top player in the league under the guidance of a great coach and the Point Gawd so as not to be exposed as a fraud (cc:lance).
A what now? Point Gawd Chris Paul has never been to the conference finals in his life and I doubt he´ll get their next year with the Warriors, Spurs, Thunder and Rockets all better than them.
So is Paul Pierce coming to Clippers?
If Durant is fit. OKC destroy them. The Rockets and OKC aren't better than them.

Dallas offers more money after you deduct tax and the Clippers are more likely to lose in the first round playoffs than they are to make it to the conference finals.Leaving a team with 2 top 10 players for a team with a 37 year old Hof'er is quite foolish to be fair, especially when the team is offering you more money, a spot in the conference finals and the opportunity to remain a top player in the league under the guidance of a great coach and the Point Gawd so as not to be exposed as a fraud (cc:lance).

Parker was unfit and Spurs have strengthened by adding Aldridge and West, Rockets were down 2 starters and still took Clippers out.Same Clippers that beat the Spurs? same Clippers that had the upper hand in a series against the rockets with a weak bench which is being strengthened this off season? ok.
They aren't the best team in the west, but they are very much underrated on here.

How have the Clippers strengthened? They replaced Barnes for Pierce, and that's a move they'll regret when they realise Pierce can't play every single game and stop dropping games when every single win could be the difference between 1-8 seed in the West. Adding Lance is more trouble than worth, it's a matter of time when he starts pouting over not having enough of the ball or starts grabbing rebounds from his team mates to pad his stats.

This is the West, annoying LeBron isn't the problem, it's actually surviving till you get to play him that is. The Clippers are still undermanned to win the conference finals even if they manage to get there.Lance and PP will both be vital come playoff time, if they can stay healthy....Charlotte was just a bad situation.
Besides you need someone to annoy Lebron.

They're capped out, they've signed the likes of Wesley Johnson on the vets minimum, which is underwhelming considering he's one of the few players that has a lower basketball IQ than McGee.Don't expect them to win the conference, still expect them to sign players after the whole DJ debacle, I still don't think they should be written off, they have a legitimate claim to make the WCF.
Oh and the annoy Lebron bit was a joke.

Why don't more NBA guys sign deals like Duncan has? I can understand getting paid is the prerogative but guys like Kobe and LeBron make so much off of endorsements that they really don't need to get 'that' paid do they?
Top players need to paid top dollars. If they don't there would be a trickle down effect and every player would be paid less. They actually help the low and mid level players get paid more money. Also in Kobe's case what would be the point of him taking a discount, the Lakers won't be competitive anyway he might as well take the money.
All I ever hear in any basketball argument is rings and I don't get why guys like LeBron or Kobe don't take less in their deals to free cap space and give their teams more flexibility.
It does not always work out like that. See what happened to Wade last summer. Plus LeBron has already taken less for when they started the big three in Miami.
To be honest this this is more a slight on Kobe because he's in a pretty comparative stage of his career (to Duncan) and the Lakers need players.
I love hating on Kobe but, I really can not blame him for the Lakers not bringing in free agents. One when he was offered the contract he was coming off a major injury so I can not blame him taking the money(but, then again I never really blame a guy for taking the money). And even if the Lakers could offer more money to players what top player would want to play with a 36 year old, injury prone Kobe and a bunch of 20 year olds?

Dirk is also an example why guys just take the money. Dirk restructured his contract last summer and with that flexibility the Mavs rolled the dice on Rondo and now they have the Deandre Jordan nonsense.
Kobe has sacrificed dough for the lakers before, he is going to retire next season, he isn't the player he used to be and as a guard he won't be able to have any significant impact on the lakers, Duncan is in the same situation he has been in for almost 2 decades, same coach, same system, same M.O, Duncan is not the main attraction in SA, its the system, the Lakers dont cant attract players and neither can a 36 year old Kobe... when you combine that with the fact that Buss is terrible at his job, it shouldn't come as a surprise.
Besides the god has 5 rings already.

This is very true but isn't Aldridge the first big free agent they've got? Ever?
