NBA 2014-2015

First appearance of Slim Reaper this season and he does his ankle, gg.

Giving up Wright would be really, really stupid. One of the most underrated big men in the league.

What you don't take into consideration is that Wright, just like Rondo, was on his last year before free agency and Dallas would not have been able to offer him a substantial raise under the salary cap with upcoming negotiations with Monta Ellis and Tyson Chandler next summer.

So the only question remains whether the trade made Dallas better immediately and the answer is definitely yes. It's hard to see the Mavericks achieving anything in the play-offs with one of the weakest starting PG's in the West. Depth at C / CF is an issue now, but I expect Aminu to get more minutes and then there are some other interesting alternatives on the market to fill that gap.

So imo the deal is very solid.

With win tonight Wiz tie franchise-best start (19-6), last done 74/75, in which they won 60 games.

Real test will be road trip after Christmas: Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, OKC and New Orleans.

Was at the Palace of Auburn Hills tonight, along with a bucketload of other Canadians and Raptors fans. Probably half the stadium was Raptors fans and James Johnson destroyed Andre Drummond, who proceeded to get mad butthurt and flagrant foul him, causing a bit of a commotion. Raptors 21-6!!!

They are really balling since Bradley Beal returned from injury against the Dallas Mavs one month ago. As you mention though, they now have to prove themselves against the big boys in the West.

No way Kobe should take that shot last night. The only other guy I'd be happy taking a potential game winner is Young and he'd been ejected.
Now Lin saying he wants to be taking game winners.

Never should have signed him in the first place, and for all that money. Did they have the option to amnesty him? If so, good move.

Josh Smith has no brains, shame about all that athletic ability wasted on a guy like him.

He's literally the only player I've seen that keeps adding more to his game and yet turns out to be even worse off each year.

Apparently the Heat are trying to get him (they're even trying to use a disability exception to get him). But Houston are interested and they seem to be the frontrunners right now (ahead of the Heat and the Mavericks).

Wiz lose two straight at home against good teams (Suns and Bulls). The next two weeks will be a tricky stretch; teams are bringing their A games and the Wiz need to respond.

Kobe gets rested and the Lakers dominate the Warriors. GSW have the best record in the NBA.

I mentioned this before but the Lakers are outscoring teams by 11 points per 100 possessions when Kobe isn't on the court.
he really is a bit of a problem for them now. The Lakers will probably have to keep putting up with the Kobe retirement parade for another 18 months or so.

This has been one of my favourite seasons of basketball in memory. Mostly because my teams (Bulls, Raptors) are playing fantastic basketball and the Raptors have been so fun to follow. I hope they make a deep playoff push, its not unlikely with how bad the east is.

Rank the 8 west contenders in order of strength if they dont have any injuries.

OKC, Spurs, Golden state, Clippers, Houston, Portland, Memphis, Dallas

I'd go with Spurs> OKC >GS > Houston > Clippers > Dallas > Memphis > Portland

Christ, the west is so fecking good.

I fear that Dallas will regret dealing Brandan Wright. If they have an injury to Chandler they will be well and truly fecked.

It's gonna come down to match ups basically. Home advantage will be key too. OKC wont be a top 4 seed so whoever gets them in the first round is kinda fecked. Wouldn't be surprised to see some creative tanking to avoid them if possible. This just reaffirms my point that the playoffs should be the top 16 teams by record. Can't wait for the playoffs though. The first round of the west was amazing last year too and even though the spurs kinda dominated everyone they played i think the west playoffs this year will be an all time classic

Good win over the Spurs after that complete feck up of a Portland game. Not sure what the deal with Durant is, seems like a pretty severe ankle sprain. Really impressed by Adams' progression so far. The difference between him and Perkins is growing even more significant by the day. He just has to improve his FT's. Oh, and Westbrook is just great.
