NBA 2014-2015

Westbrook returns to the Thunder line-up tonight. Durant expected to be back in a week. Might be just in time for OKC to turn things around.

Hopefully. Think it will be a little too late though. The West is so strong, it is ridiculous. Although, if they can get a 7th or 8th seed no team will be totally comfortable playing them, even with home court.

It's nice of Steven Adams to wear a sleeve so that on my crappy stream I could distinguish between him and Collison.

Andre Drummond had 26 points and 20 rebounds on 63% shooting but the Pistons lost thanks to none other than Josh Smith going 6 for 15 with 6 more turnovers.

That pic

Kobe with a triple double last night. First player to reach 30,000 points and 6,000 assists.

Don't you think his comments on his teammates were a little harsh?

"I was just trying to make the right plays," said Bryant, who was three assists off his career high. "The difference is that when the guys make the shots, it makes my job easier because I don't have to force the offense. When they miss them and we go down 12-15 points, I've got to force the issue a little bit to keep us in the ballgame."

I'm interpreting that as "they were finally worth something today, most of the times I need to try and force it on my own 'cause they suck". Anyway, great win against the Raptors, although they were without DeRozan. I've bet three times against the Lakers this season and they won all those times (Rockets, one I can't remember and now Raptors).

Harsh but probably true. He is playing for himself this year, that's no secret.

Important game tonight for Miami at Washington. Securing the division could prove important for Miami to claim home court advantage in the playoffs.

Will be a tough one though especially considering Miami played yesterday while Washington had a rest day.

Bad first half for Kobe but still got a double double.

Why not? Another trip dub for Kobe.

Wiz finish a 4-0 homestand by putting a beat down on the Nuggets. Starters didn't play in the 4th quarter.

Phoenix would be a pretty good team with a decent big guy.

Interesting article about the SG position on nba.com a couple of days ago. Is there less depth there than say at PG or PF? Many of the writers placed Harden above Thompson but I'm struggling to give Harden the title of best shooting guard in the league because he has absolutely no defense to his game. He's obviously more of a threat offensively than Thompson, although the latter is a better shooter. Anyway, Thompson-Curry is definitely the best backcourt in the league right now for me. I just think the Warriors will struggle against some big teams in a playoff series, like the Clippers or Grizzlies for example (like Barkley also said in some interview).

Butler, Kobe (yeah I know), Thompson, Harden are on my shortlist for best SG. I'd include Westbrook as well given his mentality. Harden's defensive shortfalls are overstated, he has his braindead moments but he doesn't stick out in the Houston team. That said, it's slim pickings at SG compared to PG right now.

The Spurs managed to clamp down on the Warrior's backcourt (Held Curry to 16 points) earlier this season. The Warriors are the team to beat right now, but it's foolish to count the Spurs out. Coming into this season, the Grizzlies have won most games against the Warriors, but I'm curious to see how the improvements the Warriors have made factor into the clash a week from now.

I'd take him too, no doubt about that, but the question in the article was about shooting guards +35 years old, forgot to mention that. Otherwise Kobe and Ginobili would be right up there for me. Some writers mentioned Wade as well, same goes for Beal.

Kobe top 5? Come on. I don't want to reignite the debate about his career as a whole so I'll just focus on what he's done this year.

He's just not good anymore. Top 5 shooting guards would have to include some combination Dragic Butler Harden Matthews Thompson Ellis. Then you've got the low usage second tier like Korver Reddick Allen Ross and Green. Or the high usage second tier DeRozan Fournier Burks.

Kobe's just past it.

Ross? Green? Dragic? No way. Not this season.

He's inefficient, we get it. But that's a combination of his mentality, the team surrounding him, and boneheaded tactics from Scott.

I don't think it can be blamed on teammates or Scott either. The Lakers are being outscored by 13 points per 100 possessions with Kobe on the court. They are outscoring their opponents by 7 with him on the bench. That's a massive swing.
