Nba 2011-2012

Durant showing up when his team needs him most.....and once again the best player on the planet is a no show in the fourth.

All OKC in the fourth quarter, outscoring Miami 31-21.

As crap as OKC played in the first half and as flawless a performance Miami could must for one half and they still lose by double digits. Intriguing. I anticipate this going 2-0 before the series shifts to Miami.

I'm still picking OKC in six.

With their explosive offense, OKC will continue to be in every single match, no matter what the score.

Miami didn't play great(Wade...WTF), but that would have been good enough for most teams tonight...but not the Thunder.

premature because Miami definitely have what it takes to come back but this is funny all the same

Battier scored 17, 4-6 from 3-pt range, doubt he does that again. But Wade will eventually have a good game or two so that offsets Battier.

According to ESPN analysts, OKC's plan is to let LBJ get his points but to shut down Wade and make the rest of the Heat attempt to up their performances to offset.

Durant will average over 30 in this series IMO but if Westbrook can top 20 each game they'll be in great position to win. My problem with Westbrook is he runs-n-guns far too often and could eventually pull a Starks.

Sounds like a great plan, James is going to score anyway, but if you can take Wade away with a constant double team I think Miami's other shooters will be reluctant to take that many shots and their offense will become disjointed.

10-24 may not sound great from Westbrook, but he was 0-4 from three, so that's 10-20 from inside the arc, .500 is a fantastic shooting % for a guard.

Westbrook certainly has his flaws, but his ability to create his own offense and his endless determination to score even if he's been having trouble goes a long way.

Hard to choose between these point guards' playoff performances, but Westbrook is the one in the finals.

Playoff stats for PGs
Westbrook - 22.1 pts, 5.9 ast, 5.3 re, 1.7 st
Parker - 20.1 pts, 6.8 ast, 3.6 re, 0.9 st
Paul - 17.6 pts, 7.9 ast, 4.6 re, 2.7 st
Rondo - 17.3 pts, 12.0 ast, 6.7 re, 2.4 st

I'd rate Parker and Rondo's playoff performances ahead of Westbrook at this stage.

Found the full Dream Team documentary that just recently aired on NBA TV. A real good watch and perfect buildup for the London Olympics.

Watched that this morning, fecking awesome team, those scrimmages must have been something to witness.

Carbon copy of the first game - Heat making their shots, Thunder not. Heat playing very good, Thunder terrible. And yet we know the Thunder will make a couple runs in the second half.

Btw, that was a horrendous goaltending call in the second quarter. Thunder player blocked a shot and the block forced it off the glass and a second Thunder player swatted it away (wasn't going in the goal, was well under the rim) and it was whistled for goaltending. Odd call. Perhaps the rule applies there despite the initial block that altered the flight of the ball and since it hit the glass it is as if the initial block didn't occur.

In regards to 1992 DT, a former co-worker posted on FB that he believes 2008 would beat 1992. He was slaughtered by other posters including myself. His main argument - he claims 2008 had more athleticism. Because 1992 had none, I guess was his thinking.

To be fair to the ref, it was a really light touch by Durant. Don't know why he didn't notice the ball trajectory change, but it happens in split seconds.

The refs talked it over and called it goaltending. They should have reviewed it, perhaps a team or league official will have them review during half-time.

OKC having a terrible night shooting. Still within striking distance though, down 11 after three quarters. That anticipated second half run has not occurred, credit to Miami for playing good defense too but OKC's shot selection is sometimes mind-boggling, probably attributed to their youth.

Durant picking up four fouls is very concerning as is Westbrook's erratic play (and horrendous shooting). One of those fouls (in the first quarter) was absolute bullshit.

Imagine that... LeBron not getting an obvious foul called against him on Durant's late shot. Bogus.

OKC 1 Refs 1 ;)

Miami played good, OKC shit for three quarters. Miami had to win this game IMO. Refs ensured it late (just joking but it was a ridiculous call as was the goaltending... and imagine that, those two points proved crucial).

What a joke! Durant was fouled at least two times by James right there but he gets bailed out by the refs. That disgrace of a goaltending call turned out to be huge.

Heat are now 15-3 I believe when Dan Crawford is in the officiating crew.

Thankfully the refs did not call that foul. I am happy the Heat managed to split it. Game 3 is so crucial now. Just hope the Heat can somehow grind out a win!

I think we can all agree. Shane Battier is currently the frontrunner for Finals MVP.

One positive for those of us who want the Thunder to win is that this might very well be the spark they needed to make them enter game 3 with a lot more urgency and sharpness right from the start.

Three games in a row now they've been awful in the first 18 minutes giving their opponents a big headstart and that is just unacceptable. They managed to win the last two games before this one due to sensational runs starting already in the 3rd quarter, tonight it started too late and they still could've won this game had it not been for 2 free bonus points for Miami and a no-call at the end.

To me the Thunder are without a doubt a better basketball team and I pick them to win two games on the road and then finish it at home in game 6.

Where can i find the box score quarter by quarter?

Only got to see the 4th quarter, what a quarter! OKC really need to start quicker, I hope they can take game 3. LeBron-Durant could be a feature in NBA finals, the modern day equivalent of the Bird-Magic rivalry perhaps.
