Nba 2011-2012

Looks like all that 20 straight wins....can they get to 26 and be the 1st team in history talk really upset the Thunder.

This is epic.

Superb from OKC, whatever adjustments they have made it's worked and credit to them. Would be fitting if they clinched the West in front of their own fans, I really like that team and it would be nice if a small market and young team won the title for once.

Game 1
Spurs - 45.8%
Thunder - 42.2%

Game 2
Spurs - 55.1%
Thunder - 42.0%

Game 3
Spurs - 39.5
Thunder - 45.5

Game 4
Spurs - 50%
Thunder - 56.4%

Game 5
Spurs - 45.9%
Thunder - 50.0%

Spurs have had one really poor night shooting...but look at the Thunder! They seem to have figured things out(much higher shooting percentage the last 3 games...) and their assist stats reflect that...working harder to find the open man.

Game 1 - 18
Game 2 - 19
Game 3 - 23
Game 4 - 27
Game 5 - 22

Moving the ball better and defending very well against the Parker/Duncan pick n roll has been the difference in the last three games. The Spurs pick n roll just destroyed the Thunder in the first two games but they've done a good job since then, Spurs look rattled and out of rythm in their offense. In my opinion, if it hadn't been for a great individual effort by Ginobili in the last game it wouldn't have even been close. They completely deserve the three wins in a row.

It's been a long time since I've seen such a great shooter like Durant. To average 50% from the field so far in the regular season and the playoffs is fantastic considering how many contested jump shots he has to take. I'm convinced that if he played in a team with better ball movement and passing he would average over 30ppg and have an even higher FG%.

Absolutely awful half of basketball so far. Almost every single possesion by both teams is terrible, there's not much intensity and the crowd has been shit. Feels like it's a funeral.

Gotta tip my hat to the Thunder. What was annoying was watching Game 5 at a local bar in Fort Worth and having to endure this drunk female OKC fan rooting every fecking trip up and down the court. She was so annoying. Guarantee she doesn't have a clue where the club originated from and probably rooted for the Mavericks last season. feck the state of Oklahoma. Bastards can't even field a decent college football team without half their roster coming from Texas.

Oh, and I don't like Harden. He thinks he's 'ard and all.

Go Celtics. Great fourth quarter by them. Spoelstra will be sacked if Miami lose this series. He's in a no-win situation. If they win the title it's because of the star players, but if they fail to win a title it's his fault (well LBJ will get attacked too but they won't sack the MVP).

Oklahoma will always be in the shadow of Texas, granted most of Oklahomans are just simple country folks. I reckon about 10% of the state population actually have an opinion on the Thunder.

There are players who play as hard as Kevin Garnett but no one plays harder. What a legend and I say that as a Lakers fan.

DWade and LBJ dont seem to play well together....they can explode in the same game separately but cant seem to make it easier for each other - most possessions (except fast breaks) are either DWade possessions with Lebron in a corner or LBJ with the ball with DWade standing in a corner.

If Durant and OKC win the title, that would show LBJ up - you don't need to run to a team with other superstars to win a championship.

It kind of wouldn't.....he moved to get to a team set up like that....3 superstars gelling and peaking together....though Harden might not be a 'superstar' yet, but he's certainly a superstar sixth man.

He's like Ginobili, definite starter for almost every team, but willing to be the superstar sixth man.

I don't think many people expected that. The older and more banged up Celtics on the brink of another NBA finals in a season many thought they would struggle.

Miami

I told you guys when Miami won the first two games, this series aint over and that Boston will win at least two games. They have exceeded my expectations. If SAS can just win tonight, it would be brilliant!

If only Dwayne Wade had a supporting cast like Kevin Durant...

Also, the Charlotte Bobcats started in 2004, while the Thunder "started" in 2007. Yeah, they had the Seattle stuff, but they effectively started then. Look at where the two are now. Michael Jordan has done a helluva job with Charlotte. Good job, good effort.

Man Utd let the Spurs down big time tonight....Parker and Duncan did their bit, Jackson was a bonus, but Man Utd not firing hurt them big time.

Thunder deserving of this win, and for once...the pundits DO know what they're talking about...just about everyone had the Thunder as the team to beat in the western conference and voila....

Some ridiculous favouring to the OKC at times today, but I can't really dislike a team who's leader is Durant, such a classy classy dude, and it's very fitting that Duncan effectively passed the torch over to him here.....Durant being the new incredibly humble guy of the future, well him and Rose, two very classy young guys to have around for the next generation, don't flop, play hard, no thrills away from the court.

Shame Duncan couldn't get his fifth ring though, would of given him the fuel he deserves to be put on a pedestal with Kobe, which he should be on, they are as equally great to each other.

The whole game was absolutely fantastic, and what for me summed up what the hell was going on is how the Spurs reacted when they missed a shot with 30 seconds left down by four points. They looked paralysed, stunned, as if they had just experienced a tragedy, nobody knew what to do, nobody fouls and a few moments later Durant passes the ball almost from halfcourt to a wide open Perkins for a dunk to make it a 6 point game. For me it was fascinating to watch how a team that has won so much and are so experienced can suffer such an enormous breakdown like they did tonight.

Fantastic series, incredible basketball with an incredible finish!

Tbf LeBron aside from 'the decision' is the same...

-No stories of him sleeping with hookers every other week
-No stories of drunken fights or drug use
-No bitching at team mates or coaches
-No one has been under the same level of scrutiny(well maybe Tiger Woods from such a young age, and look what happened to him), and yet hasn't had a complete meltdown yet
-Not out dissing rivals

This year in the playoffs....James is second in points, fourth in steals, 10th in assists, second in minutes.

He really is getting it done, not his fault he isn't Jordan.

Um......no. LeBron loves the celeb lifestyle and the attention. Guys a good sport with it all mind you, but he's not the same as Duncan or Durant at all. LeBron isn't really that humble since well he did call his own twitter 'king', so it's not like he plays that down like Durant and Duncan do.

Gets it done? Yeah. But he wouldn't be the guy he is if he didn't. He's the best player in the game.

Just because Durant and Rose are introverts doesn't mean Bron is some lothario.

Of course he calls his own twitter King, he's been told he's the greatest thing since sliced bread...far lesser players are bigger media wh0res than James.

You seem to be getting the idea I'm saying it as some negative thing, I'm not. LeBron is a super classy guy with all the marketing and outside of NBA work he does, has a lot of fun with it, but he clearly loves that stuff, loves going out, loves to be seen at big sporting events elsewhere etc. Controversies have nothing to do with anything really....most of them are just minor things blown out of proportions. Although obviously you have some that are seriously stupid like Woods and the Kobe thing.

I just like the rare elite players you get who are quiet and don't give a shit about anything else except playing, Scholes and Stockton fall into this category too for me. Another pair of my favourites.

Well the few players mentioned here.....maybe except Rose at a stretch aren't incorrectly labelled. So yeah

If Miami loses, this is on Wade not LeBron...Wade has punked out this series, big time.

Or maybe the blame should be put on three prima donnas colluding to join up and take on massive contracts that restricted the club from signing additional quality depth.

If these three truly wanted to win multiple championships they each could have taken $10m per year and thus allowed the club to have cap room to sign real quality.
