Kings win!
The Heat really looking like they are starting to gel....
Those 3 consecutive 3s from LeBron last night were wow....That trio really looks like its starting to click, course long long way left in the season..
feck yeah did Rose take a dump on the Lakers tonight. Shit was immense.
At this stage, him and Deron HAVE to be the legit faves for MVP, right? Dirk, Howard, Paul and Amare also giving very good showing for themselves. I don't see how Bryant can be in the discussion with Gasol outperforming him often, James is mostly the star at Miami though, but still same deal, and Westbrook is easily outdoing Durant right now.
Shout it out: Sterling heckles Davis
Sterling has expressed his displeasure about Davis’ play by taunting him from his courtside seat at Clippers’ home games, several sources told Yahoo! Sports. Among Sterling’s verbal barbs:
– “Why are you in the game?”
– “Why did you take that shot?”
– “You’re out of shape!”
While Sterling has also taunted other Clippers players since the middle of last season, none have received it worse than Davis, the sources said.
“There’s nothing I can say,” Davis said of Sterling’s taunts. “I have no comment on that. You just get to this point where it’s a fight every day. It’s a fight. You’re fighting unnecessary battles. I’m fighting unnecessary battles.
Sterling “started getting a lot more vocal during the second half of last season,” one team source said. “He never had done that before at games. Baron’s his pet project. He absolutely hates Baron. He wants to get his money back.”
...
Sources said Sterling is upset with Davis for not living up to the five-year, $65 million contract he signed with the Clippers in the summer of 2008. Clippers center Chris Kaman(notes) and former Clippers Bobby Brown(notes) and Mardy Collins(notes) have also been berated by Sterling during games, a source said. The players typically heard Sterling during free throws or when they were within earshot during a stoppage in play.
While taunting players during games is somewhat new for Sterling, the owner has previously criticized his team. Two seasons ago, he made a rare visit to the locker room and launched into a tirade, calling former Clippers forward Al Thornton(notes) selfish. Sterling also said during the much-publicized incident that he was willing to trade every player on the team.

When asked his thoughts on Davis, Sterling said: “What can I say? I wish the best for all my players.”
Kevin Love has to be thereabouts for MVP. Averaging 20+ ppg and 15 rpg this season. A legit 3 point threat at power forward and shooting around 45% for field goal and 80% for fts.
If he was playing for a bigger franchise, he'll have the MVP sewn up by January.
Timberwolves would be fun to watch in 2-3 years time, the core of the team is there already, Beasley at SF, Love at PF, Milicic at C and when Ricky Rubio finally comes and takes his place as PG. Pretty nice to build around 4 potential all-stars.
His team has the 2nd worst record in the league, he could play in the biggest market in the world and he still wouldn't get taken seriously when it came to voting for MVP.
Kevin Garnett won the MVP in 03/04 while with the Minnesota Timberwolves,
24.2 points, 13.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.2 blocks, 1.5 steals 50% FG, 80% FT, and 26% from beyond the arc.
Thing is, his team won 58 games that season. Putting up big numbers for a loser, don't get you MVP props.
It's unfair on him because the Timberwolves are a few years away from becoming a decent playoff team, for now they're still finding their way. Beasley and Miliccic were just signed this year and this is Love's first season as a starter (he started the season averaging only 20+ mins a game and basically forced Rambis to play him longer mins by leading the league in rebounds despite limited numbers).
It is easier to stand out in a team where you're basically the star, but Love is threatening to pull off a 20-20 game almost every other game, hell, he even did it against the Lakers. Might not be MVP for this year, but just imagine how far back the Wolves will be without him. Most improved player for sure though.
*On a side note, he seems rather undersized for a PF, lacks the athleticism of elite players and is still leading the league in rebounds by a comfortable margin. He must love rebounds as much as Kobe loves scoring.
Nah...6 feet 10inches, and 260 pounds - he is not undersized by any means. Without being racist, there are very few athletic big white men playing basketball.
Race aside, hybrid players like Garnett have ruined the perception people have of Power Forwards..very few can do what he's done over his career. Love is just fine, though he needs to learn to play a little defense...he is hopeless.
This. If he puts in as much effort in defense as getting rebounds, he'll be a monster.
What's your opinion on Blake Griffin? Me and my friend reckons he's top 5-10 PF in the NBA right now. I reckon he needs some work on his defense and FT's, otherwise he's pretty much what you can ask for in a PF.

Donald Sterling...not only is he a racist bigot, he's also now doing this...
Four of their six straight wins came against cannon fodder so hopefully the Heat bandwagon won't start tooting those horns yet.
The Knicks are playing some damn good ball apparently. How much better would they be had LBJ gone there? Felton looks quality, Amare is steady, and the others are putting in a collective effort.
If he was playing for a bigger and better team than the Wolves, then he won't be putting up those numbers.
Absolute monster. Don't talk to me about his FT shooting, he's in my fantasy team, and kills me every week.
Defensively most rookies have a ton to learn, he has to realize with the big boys, he can't simply outmuscle them like he did in college. He has to move his feet quicker, and most importantly anticipate better.
My worry with him, is the Clippers, it is a poisonous team and atmosphere, will he continue to work hard, and remain professional?
Averaging 25% of rebounds available in every game would suggest otherwise though. He doesn't just do it against the smaller teams, he does it consistently every game.
Celtics with a close win over the Knicks while Cleveland lose to Lebron again. Which team has a better shot at unseating the Lakers from the top of the west; Spurs or Mavs?
Great game between Boston & the Knicks. Stoudemire has been really impressive this season.
Lakers won, but I'm a bit suprised they traded Vujacic to the Nets in a 3-way team trade, acquiring Joe Smith & the rights to some other player. Disappointed to lose Vujacic, he was a decent (albeit unreliable) 3-point shooter and was usually deadly from the FT-line. Joe Smith's a PF according to wiki, so probably looking to get a back-up in for Gasol who's been playing a lot of minutes this season.
The Vujacic trade also gives the Nets 2 first-round draft picks - maybe useful if they want to go after Anthony.
No doubt Spike's at the Garden watching his beloved Knicks - wonder if he's had anything to say to King James yet?
