Nba 2010-2011

I think everyone knew they had no chance to Beat THAT Bulls team...maybe next season, but no way this season. Way too much growing pain...

It was disrespectful for people to simply think because they got these 3, that they would just rock up every night and win by default. They will be very strong contenders by the end of the regular season, and very well might win the championship this season, but 'greatest team 4 eva n eva' was a moniker given too soon to them.

Also anyone notice Kevin Love tonight

31 points 31 rebounds

He's showing Rambis he deserves more mins. Probably one of the best player in the league when you look at his productivity/minutes played.

fecking A when your son has been playing in teh NBA for 8 years maybe it is time to retire Oden

I think the Blazers should let someone else pick their players for the draft...Oden over Durant, Sam Bowie over some asshole from UNC who wore #23.

I met Lamar Odom at Jimmy Johns in Minneapolis today! Don't really follow basketball, but that was quite cool. And yes, I went looking for this thread just to say that :D

Did you get to speak to him or meet any other Laker players? Odom looks big on TV, probably seems like a giant in person.

 That first dunk was epic, and he got the foul.

It's a bit too early to be looking forward to the All-star week and the dunk contest, but I hope it's better than last year's. Superman and LeBron really should enter the contest this time, last season's effort was pathetic to say the least.

BLAKE GODRIFFIN. Dumping £20 on him at 8/1 for Rookie of the year was the greatest bet ever. He was like 4th fave after the draft rofl.

Lakers with another impressive win and Pau Gasol who has started the season as an MVP contender was perfect with FTs and FGs. Barnes did the same the game before and now "Gasol, Barnes and Charles Barkley are the only players to have scored 20 points, five rebounds and five assists without missing a single field goal or free throw (a minimum of five field-goal attempts and five free throws) in NBA history."

Really impressed by Gasol's start this season, both he and Odom have taken a bit of pressure off Kobe and the bench is contributing a lot more than it did last season. Looking good for the Lakers, and we still have the injured crock Bynum to return...

Edit: just seen the Spurs are on a 10 game winning streak, guess that divorce from Eva Longoria isn't affecting Tony Parker's game.

 @ the Heat

Lebron playing 42 mins on an average for an average win-loss record. What an embarrassment it would turn out to be if they dont make it to the play offs

Mavs and Hornets looking good in early season again only to disappoint in post season

Few championships are won in the offseason, very few

What's up with the Heat? Loss at home to the Pacers

I think they need a better coach. Plus they need more time to gel together as a team. I hate them so I don't care about them. But maybe in two years, they can start competing for the title which this year the Lakers are favorites to win.

It's simple they have no interior defense...Bosh is playing way below par, can't dominate the low post, and his rebounding has been non-existent. Obviously injuries, and gelling together as a team takes time...but also while both Wade and 'Bron are very good ball handlers, neither is a point guard.

Have people seen the numbers "Bron is putting up? His scoring is down..which is acceptable, he is taking less shots, but all his others key numbers are down too...assists, rebounds. But the critical turnovers are up, 4 a game!

With Haslem now gone till March, things might get ugly before they get better, but they'll still win 58-60 games.

Phil Jackson made a comment that unless Miami start winning, Pat Riley might take over as the coach. Stan Van Gundy (who's had his run-in with Riley) was critical of the Zen master's comments, as was D-Wade, but I have to agree with Phil, I can't see the current coach lasting too long. Plus, I felt the signings of the big-3 were Riley's idea, and sooner rather than later, he would love to coach them.

Heat and Magic playing atm, if Magic win, it'll only be more pressure on the Heat coach.

Don't think he'll last too long, 8-7 record for a team that was supposedly good enough to win 70+ games.

Meanwhile the Spurs are on a 12 game winning streak, it's like the Spurs team that dominated the NBA in the mid-2000's. Still think the Lakers would have enough to beat them in a potential Western Conference Finals matchup, but Spurs showing great form early season.

Kobe getting booed everytime he touches the ball. Gasol looks so good at the moment, has to be a genuine contender for MVP if he continues in this form.

Kobe keeps hitting his fadeaways, incredible how he can keep doing it on such a consistent basis.

Good quarter for Lakers, showed aggression by getting rebounds on both ends of the court, although the Jazz defense has been poor so far.

He'll never win an MVP award as long as Kobe is playing on the same team and does not miss half the season. It's just like when Pippen played with Jordan and was arguably the second/third best player in the league.

I agree, ESPN had an article to the same effect that Gasol won't win an MVP because he'll be overshadowed by Kobe/Wade/Le Bron etc. Shame really as he's started the season brilliantly.

What a dunk by Price

Jazz coming back into the game...

fecking Jazz owned that 2nd quarter. Typical Lakers making it more difficult for themselves than need be. HT: 50:46 Lakers lead.

The Jazz fans can get really loud.

how about those mavs! forth game in five nights, all wins by the way, including a win over a 12-1 spurs team, and the hated miami heat (on the forth night). this team is much better than past teams especially defensively. one day off and then a game against houston.

Yep, they are making it a habit to come down from being down double digits this season. It is not going to work every time but somehow they have been doing it again and again over the past month.
