Nba 2010-2011

fecking Lakers, just about holding on to the second seed but now we have the same record as the Mavs - can't afford any more losses.

That Perkins trade looks even more stupid everytime the Celtics lose, down to #3 now whilst Oklahoma are 12-3 when Perkins has played for them. I like the Thunder and if we can't 3-peat I'll be backing them to go all the way.

It's easy to blame the trade with Celtics demise in recent weeks as it coincides but watching the Celtics yesterday not only were they outplayed but they were out played, they were out-worked.

Not something you see with the Boston Celtics.

Perkins only played twelve times pre trade so that can't be the sole reason for the average and wayward performances since All Start Break.

Biggest problems they've got is getting Shaq fit, and, getting Rondo back to anything like pre All Star Break. With them two performing the Celtics will be there or there abouts.

Well considering Shaq injury record in his latter years, then it is a bit dumb to trade Perkins and rely on Shaq

hope the mavs can steal that second spot. not that it'll matter to them. they'll get knocked out in the first or second round.

Nah that ain't happening mate. Lakers are going to win easily at Kings tomorrow and Mavs are also going to win against Hornets.

Finally a win, albeit against a weakened Spurs starting team. LA should have the #2 seed now.

Big talking point is Bynum, injured his knee again and will find out the result of that injury later today - if he's out of the playoffs I don't think the Lakers come close to a 3-peat. Not the greatest centre in the world but is effective at what he does, his size helps the Lakers & also by putting Odom on the bench it gives us more depth. Huge loss if he is out.

Amar'e needs to take lessons from Blake Griffin on how to dunk, this was pathetic:

So it's quite possibly the last game in Sacramento ever and the Maloofs decided to give their courtside seats away to Mark Sanchez and Tony Gonzales: Laker fans.

Edit: Scratch that. Adrienne Maloof is in the building followed by cameras shooting for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Edit II: That game went by excruciatingly quickly.

I guess it was a good end to the Sac-LA game. I mean Kings were blazing in the fourth quarter and I have no idea how they managed to tie the game but kudos to them because they gave the fans in Sacramento something to cheer about one last time.

My predictions for the 1st round:

Spurs-Grizzlies
Lakers-Hornets
Mavs-Portland
Nuggets-Thunder

Bulls-Pacers
Hawks-Magic
76ers-Heat
Celtics-Knicks

What did Kobe say?

Called a ref a faggot.

Board of governor's meeting going on right now. Maloofs are presenting their case but they don't know whether they'll have enough votes. Jerry Buss (I can't believe I'm rooting for him right now) is leading the charge against the move and is thankfully throwing his weight around. George Maloof says they're still unsure about filing and will wait to see what the owners think after their presentation.

Mayor Kevin Johnson is also going to be at the meeting trying to persuade everyone that Sacramento is a viable NBA market.

put a United shirt on this morning...United lost, put a Rangers shirt on later...they lost. i'm not puting a Mavs or Bruins shirt on tonight.

Heat held on to a win. LBJ was on PTI yesterday and he defended his decision to say they'll win multiple championships over the next 9 seasons, but I can't see them winning it this year.

It's just a matter of time before they do win multiple titles. They'll be hollow in my mind and I most likely won't watch.

2011-12 might be moot as well presuming a prolonged lockout occurs. Which I would relish. Some of these players need a reality check.

The Heat are not going to win the Championship multiple times with that team. Their bench is really weak, they need a better point guard and a better center. If either LeBron or Wade got injured, they will struggle.

They'll tinker enough to find role players to fit in. They'll probably end up getting a guy like Nash or Kidd and some other decent big-man to join up on a low salary just to win.

Or they'll ship Bosh and whomever out for Howard or M Gasol or whomever.

Or watch Oden get released and finally have a season of significance.

Good game between the Hawks & Magic, Hawks winning. Howard was brilliant the first half, ended up with 40+ points but was less effective in the 4th quarter as he basically played the entire quarter with 5 fouls. Hawks hit some big shots, especially Crawford.

LA lose to the Hornets. Kobe had a typical night, but wtf was Gasol doing (8 pts, 2-9 shooting).

I still expect the Lakers to beat the Hornets, but I don't see the 3-peat happening.

Lakers woes continue but I doubt New Orleans has this good a performance again (only 3 turnovers) and Gasol playing the invisible man role.

Spurs need Ginobli fit or they could get bounced. But even without Ginobli it took career efforts from Gasol and Randloph and a missed open three point shot to win.

Both clubs will rebound and win their series as favored.

Absolutely shocking results. Two big upsets with Spurs and Lakers losing. I cannot believe it.

Should they not win it may be in LAL's favor as it may force some changes. Perhaps Phil comes back if they falter. If not, who do they go after? Sloan?

The PG spot is a problem area. Fisher is too old for this level and where was Blake today? Perhaps they move to acquire Paul, assuming he still wants out of New Orleans, but it might take more than LAL has to get him, and could involve a third team. Young guys like Barea and Ford are UFAs this summer and might be more logical and probable.

If I'm LAL, I'm doing whatever it takes to get Dwight Howard there. He's made it known that's where he wants to be. Bynum is probably moving the other way and perhaps Odom or another player plus picks. That said, Bynum is underrated by many and his length really presents problems for opponents. But Howard is probably the best defensive big man in the league and easily the best center.

Bynum's a good player and he was immense in the Lakers streak of 17 wins in 18 games but he gets injured far too often and gets injured at crucial times.
From what I've read everyone expects Howard to move to the Lakers with Bynum going the other way.

Blake was out with chicken pox, agree Fish is too old for PG but he can still hit the big shot when needed. I'd love to see Paul come to the Lakers, but I have a feeling he'll end up at the Knicks.

What about Brian Shaw as Phil's replacement? He was linked with the Cavs job last season and seems to be liked by Kobe. Doubt Phil would stay beyond this season, especially if there is no season next year with the lockout.

Great ending to the Celtics/Knicks game. Typical homer ref non-call at the end. Garnett clearly fouled the Knicks player on the pick that allowed Allen to be open for his game-winning shot. As the Knicks brought the ball down-court, Celtics players were on the floor celebrating then quickly returned to their bench. That's a technical foul per the rules for too many men on the court while the ball is in play. How do they miss that?

Memphis overpays to keep Randolph. And this is why so many NBA clubs are struggling financially. Randolph for 18m per season. Ridiculous.
