Nba 2010-2011

Tony Parker had one assist the whole game. I mean come on, you are a fecking point guard and you have one assist all game?

Can't believe what is happening in the West, Spurs on the brink of elimination & the Lakers making it tough on themselves (potential 7 game series) with Kobe injuring himself & listed day-to-day with a sprained ankle.

I love the show 'Inside the NBA' on TNT with Chuck, Jet, EJ and C-Webb. Its freaking hilarious everytime I watch it.

Don't think so, only ESPN seem to show NBA in the UK.

Yeah, thought as much. Gutted. ESPN only show 68 regular season games and so far they've not shown too much of the playoff games either.

Going to have to get the League Pass next season I think.

Yeah, NHL dominating both ESPN's for the playoffs is a bit weird. But they show the same two channels across Europe so makes sense as well NHL crushes NBAs popularity outside of the UK in Europe.

But I've mostly just streamed Bulls for the past 18 months, easy enough really and I usually get a NHL/MLB game togo with on the HDTV.

What a game between the Spurs and the Grizzlies. What a finish to the 4th quarter. Go Spurs!

Spurs win may be the catalyst they needed to start performing the playoffs.

Durant dumps out the Nuggets scoring 41pts, Heat win sets up a second round matchup with Boston which should be interesting.

Hopefully LA wraps up the series tonight, do not want it to go to a game 7.

Lakers win & close out the series against the Hornets. Bynum had another good game, if he manages to stay fit then we have a good chance of winning another title.

Magic go out, did not see that happening. Hawks will play the Bulls in the other Eastern semi.

fecking Mavs win. I hate every single one of them except Dirk. Even Rick Carlisle and Mark Cuban. Come on you Lakers! Lets beat the shit of these feckers!

Well the Spurs are out as well. It will be an easy series for the Thunder. They have enough big men to deal with Randolph and Gasol.

The end for the Spurs...they were a great team, but they're too old, too injured, this was their last run as a genuine contender I think, and they failed.

Props to the Grizzlies for playing very very well.

So the next round of matches looks like this:

East

Chicago
Atlanta

Boston
Miami

West

Lakers
Mavs

Thunder
Grizzlies

My prediction for conference finals

East - Chicago vs Miami
West - Thunder vs Lakers

My prediction:

Celtics-Bulls
Lakers-Thunder

The Grizzlies beat the Thunder in Game 1, Randolph & Gasol with another very impressive game. Surely they can't cause another upset?

Heat and in particular Wade were hot tonight. A few contentious decisions but nothing that was totally game changing I don't think.

I knew these games were going to be heated but bu heck these lot seem to hate each other!

Wonder if Celtics will regret losing their size advantage, Shaq is still not fit & I think since the Perkins trade they've lost twice against Miami.

I fecking hate Miami, almost every game is won by a different member of the big-3 (although Jones had a big game today). Still, I think Boston will take the series but they must win game 2.

I am simply not afraid of the Heat. Without a credible scoring threat from Center, the Bulls can put Noah on Bosh, the best defender on the team in Deng on James, and either of our non-Korver 2-guards on Wade. And the Bulls' big scorers can get the occasional rest in because unlike Miami, we have an actual bench. As poor as we sometimes looked against Indy (game-raisers, the lot of them,) I still can't see the Bulls not getting to the Finals.

How has Noah played this season Excal? Is he indispensable?

I wouldn't necessarily say "indispensable", as the Bulls managed for several weeks while he was injured, but he probably is if the Bulls hope to win. When fit, Noah was a force in the paint at both ends of the floor. He's an effective defender against almost any center or any power forward. He fights for rebounds on both sides, and is a decent scorer. His defensive versatility is especially crucial because Boozer is a largely inept defender.

Grizzlies really surprising everyone today with a win against the Thunder at OC too. Very impressive. I thought the big men of OKC could take on the big men of the Grizzlies. Well apparently not so far.

Nothing official but NBA.com saying Kings to stay in Sacramento for 2011-2012 season.

Maloof statement confirms. Tentative approval for relocation next year if no arena gets built. This is just getting started.

Edit: Basically whoever wrote their official media release somehow crafted it to be a threat.

The Miami heat just seem to lose their concentration late in the fourth quarter, AND they don't seem able to find the winning basket with seconds to go.

Against the strongest teams in the play-offs, that's the margin between being a champion, and close to being a champions. I think they'll belong to the latter this year.

I'm thinking about watching Hawks @ Bulls tonight.

Hawks are my favourite team, need to watch them as they may finish their season against Bulls.

Yeah the Kings are staying in Sacramento for at least another season. The Lakers need to get serious tonight. They have to win game 1 no matter what. Bulls - Hawks could be a good series too. The last time the Bulls met the Hawks in the playoffs was back in 97-98 when the Bulls won 4-1.

So who do you lads think could be MVP this season?

For me it has to be either Rose, Lebron or Durant. Kobe will not be in contention. So will not be Wade. Dwight and Amare obviously not. Who else is there in contention?

RD - Rose got MVP as expected.

Couple of good games today....shame I was only able to watch bits and pieces, Hawks and Mavs both with upset wins. Both matchups will be better for the wins by the away team.

Kobe missing the potential gamewinner....feck me, he had the rock in his hand the whole game, and didn't get a single assist. Way to go Kobe.

I cannot believe the Lakers lost tonight. The Bulls? Yeah kinda. But the Lakers? Never had a shadow of a doubt they would lose.

For me it would have been D Howard for MVP for sure. He's been fantastic for Magic this season and had the Magic not had him they'd be lucky to make the playoffs. Very very valuable.

You can't begrudge Rose though, really. He has been instrumental in what the Bulls did in the Regular Season.

LeBron was never going to get it and probably won't as long as he's part of the 'Big 3'. He'd have to achieve crazy numbers for that to be even possible.

Fine margins, had Kobe made the shot it would have been a different story. That said, he needed to release the ball to his teammates more.
The loss of possession by Gasol killed them.
